You are in your compartment on the Southbound train. You're a little tired. You had to rush because you ran late and nearly missed it.

That would have been bad.

Well, let's do some stretches to unwind.

Review your schedule, to avoid future mishaps. Where you're going, when you plan to get there, what you'll do there, stuff like that.

Do you really need a schedule, though? You prefer to just go with the flow of life. Things always turn out well enough that way.

You obviously didn't get on the train for no reason! This is the Southbound Train. You're obviously here with the express purpose of going South. You wear your mask because it makes you happy. It is also very comfortable and you have had it for a very long time.

Your history's in the past man. No need to bring that up. Also, it's pretty dull.

You vault over the bar, grabbing a glass and a towel along the way, and land in front of the passenger in a series of moves that would make David Belle's jaw drop.

Actually you just walk back there.

You ask the passenger how you can help him.

"Peep peep peep, peep cheep choot cheep."

He is in the same position as you, nothing to do and a long way to go. So he decided to come to the dining car. Oh, and his name is Percy Von Tweetington and he knows you're not really the bartender.

"Choot cheep peep pip."

Unfortunately, extra pants were not part of your STANDARD TRAVEL SUPPLIES. That would have been helpful. You ask Percy what exactly is going on now.

Cheet peep choot cheep, cheet choot peep peep.

He says he has no idea either. He woke up a short time ago a couple cars down. His arm was bleeding so he tied it up with a cloth that was lying around. He started to look around to see what happened, but didn't get any clues. He did, however, see things as strange and stranger than what we just saw.

He says that's why he has the axe.

On another note, outside the train seems to be gone. You are not sure how that works exactly, it is not a concept with which you are familiar.
>>

>>

There's still air at atmospheric pressure outside, and if it was enclosed you'd know by the behavior of the smoke. Not to mention that light's coming from somewhere, and the train's resting on something. Throw a piece of debris outside and see what happens.

You toss some rubble out the window a short distance. It lands with a soft, nondescript thud. The ground appears, or rather, doesn't appear to be anything at all. It is just... there. Blank whiteness stretches off into the distance and all around, where moments ago there were trees, grass, and mountains. The smoke is still dissipating upwards, but seems to fade into the white.

Like you said, outside is gone.

You suppose the only thing left to do is search the train for clues as to what has happened. You tell Percy of your intention to explore to the fore of the train, that being the direction from which Percy came.

Cheep peep choot.

Percy tells you the things he saw back there he'd rather not soon see again. He intends to check further back on the train, towards the passenger cars to see if he can find Ticketman.

Do you split up to move forwards? Or do you prefer the safety of numbers, against whatever may be out there?
>>
No. 536548 ID: 9ddf68

You and your stalwart befeathered companion pass through another wrecked dining car. Everything has been tossed around and broken to the point of uselessness. The doorway opposite to the one you entered appears to have had the HEAVY IRON DOOR torn off and left damaged to the side.

The doorway itself is blocked by a large wooden crate. The room beyond appears to be dark. You could ask Percy to break the crate apart with the axe, but that would take a while, and would be very noisy. Alternately, you could ask Percy to boost you up through the gap between the crate top and the doorframe, however he is too big to follow you.

There are also blood smears on the face of the crate.

Even with your combined weight, the crate doesn't budge. Percy boosts you through the gap and you get a look into the next car.

It is dark and windowless, presumably a box car. There are a few crates, bags, and sacks pushed up against the doorway. It is too dark to reliably tell what is on the other end.

A crowbar! That'll serve as a weapon. No more hiding behind Percy. Grab it and peer intently into the darkness. Maybe ask if anyone's there.
>>
No. 541087 ID: 9ddf68

quickly grab the crowbar, then hop back up on the box, ask if anyone is in here. If you don't get a response see if you can't clear some of that crap out of the way so you can move the box for Percy and then once he's in set it back up to act again as a barrier. If Percy wasn't fudging the truth early about there being a lot of monsters further ahead in the front of the train there really isn't anything keeping them from wondering back, so if you can put this box back after the 2 of you get through you'll have something to at least slow them down.

If there is something in that room you can either try and talk to it (if it's a person), fight it (if it looks like you could take it), or since you'd be on the box when you find it run back out through the creak in the door to have Percy ready to back you up (if it looks like something over your head)
