To the author, you should try shrinking those image resolutions down. They're really stretching out the text when expanded. About 800-1000 pixels wide is probably the widest you can reasonably go.

The mare looks around quickly, knowing that she had little time. Her eyes fell upon the knit purple sweater that Her mother had given her for her birthday. She expertly and quickly slid it on while working her way to the window. She put her front hooves on the sill and was just about to jump out when she heard the shrill shriek of a mare.. The only other one in the house.

you are many things but you are not evil. fling open the door. use powers to make a path of living wood which would be harder to burn.

Heading out through the window is still the thing to do. If you go try and kick the door down or whatever, you're going to get a huge backdraft, a ton of smoke that'll choke you out, and/or set all your hair on fire, any given one of which would probably get you killed. So just shout that you're OK, recommend hopping out a window to your... mother? Sister? Whoever it is, and if they don't meet you outside, alert... the pony fire brigade, or whoever comes to stand around gawking, that someone is still inside.

Can you use your powers to warp open the tree wherever the pony is so they can escape as well? The hallway is most likely impassable at this point so you'll have to go outside anyway.

Use your magic to open the door while you're still next to the window, is my suggestion. Assuming you don't get backdrafted you'll have a chance to save your family member. If you DO, well, you'll still be far enough from the door to get out of there.

Don't open the door. As well as getting a fireball to the face, you'd only feed the fire elsewhere. Climb out the window, then circle around the house to wherever the other person is, then climb in a window there.

Her doorways on fire so opening it won't really give the other pony an escape route unless they want to run through the flames. She also probably doesn't know a spell for putting out fires, she should get out and call the Fire Brigade as quickly as possible, going around the house and finding another window to enter through could be an option but calling the fire brigade should be top priority.

Soot was starting to cover her pelt and mane, and she decided that it was too much a risk to try the door. She pushed herself out the window and circled around the house, searching for another way in. After going around the entire building and finding nothing, she had to find help.

No one was around that she could see, which was to be somewhat expected; their house was on the very fringe of ponyville and it was very late at night.
