Well, Pikari hasn't actually been hired yet, so you may not even have to live with this at all. And even if Pikari is hired, if that other amstvane, Kargi, is hired as well then maybe Pikari will put her (or his) attention on him instead of you.

Tell Pikari the office number where Clear is, and say you'll walk her (or him) there... Okay, this pronoun ambiguity is getting silly. Just outright ask Pikari what gender he or she is. Specifically state it's not for any of "those" reasons; You just want to get your pronouns sorted out before accidentally calling him or her the wrong one.

Once that's sorted out, then take off. On the way apologize for the outburst; It's not something you normally do, or even knew you could do, and don't want to do again.

Perhaps as >>502326 suggested, Clear is responsible for playing a little joke on you. Or maybe she thought getting you laid would help you open up and be less shy?

Quiz 'her' (We're still uncertain about this) a little on engineering. You know your stuff, and it will help you regain your composure to assume a more professional attitude.

So you become more assertive whenever you are enraged or frustrated... This might prove useful. Maybe you should keep this memory tucked away just in case you really need to unleash a can of self assertion on someone one day.

Just tell her that you don't like to mix business and pleasure; you're here to interview her for a job, and you wouldn't want her thinking that she got that job because of *this* kind of behavior. You need to know if she can actually do the job.

>Voice your concerns with Clear.
I'll definitely do that as soon as I get the chance. I don't know how much of this I can take!

>She can come on the ship, but you have to confiscate her tildes as dangerous ordinance.
That's just silly.

>Just outright ask Pikari what gender he or she is.
Kigavi only have the one gender!

"Something the matter~?"

"Uh... look, I just need to send you to my boss. I'm not the one doing the interview."

"That's too bad~"

>Quiz 'her' (We're still uncertain about this) a little on engineering.
"What are you applying for, anyway?"

"Wouldn't you like to know~"

"Well, if it's engineering, I might--"

"It's not engineering."

"Oh."

... Where was that room again?

Saz heads out with Pikari, but has some trouble finding where he's supposed to go.

How do I not know where the office is?!

Eventually, they arrive.

"Oh, there you are, Saz. Did you forget where this place was again?"

"O-of course not!"

"Uh huh. And I guess this must be Pikari?"

"Hi~"

"Alright. By the way, Saz, we've approved that Kargi fellow. He's in the back filling out forms right now. There anything you wanna talk about before you go try to find our other straggler?"

I should really tell her about Pikari... but how am I supposed to do that when they're standing right there?!
>>
No. 507477 ID: ec0bf5

Ok I'm going to give it decent odds that they're going to mention it themselves. Barring that, you're probably going to want to emphasize that "Oh, that's good. Pikari here REALLY likes amtsvane." and then glare at Clear in a suggestive manner. That is, if you really don't want them aboard. I think you should give them another chance now that they know what's actually going on and not mention anything to her at all. Maybe they'll grow on you while you're all locked up all close together on a spaceship that you can't get off of for extended periods of time.

Mentally review what we know about Kigavi. For all we know this is standard behaviour for them. To clarify, are they an all female species or what?

Inquire about what it is that Pikari will be doing onboard the ship. Hopefully you'll be able to avoid it if your duties don't overlap much.
>>
No. 507495 ID: 9e1727

>"Kigavi only have one gender!"
...Uh. So they're hermaphrodites? Or can switch sex at will? Or something even weirder? Well, this'll make pronouns even trickier...

Lean down and whisper to Clear that you'd like to speak with her in private for a moment; Either in back or out in the hall. Then you can give her the quick summary of how Pikari has a near inappropriate attraction to amstvanes and wanted to jump your bones, or you to jump Pikari's bones, or whatever kigavi do. And that you had to lose your cool and yell at Pikari you weren't there to have sex to get Pikari to stop taking everything you said as a sexual innuendo or proposition. And even then Pikari is coming on real strong, and it's grinding on you.

Basically, if Pikari is hired Pikari is going to be all over you and Kargi the entire time, and you don't know if you can keep from snapping again.
>>
No. 507514 ID: cf49fc

>>507495
Awww, snapping a little was good for him! He may be a (proportionally) giant lizard, but he's got the approximate spine and willpower of a tub of margarine. I mean, the alternative to snapping was being publicly raped by an alien. As long as he doesn't go crazy, he should be fine.
>>
No. 507527 ID: 9e1727

>>507514
...Okay, you're right. It's good that Saz showed some spine for once, since it did clear up that situation. ...In fact, Pikari hasn't been all over Saz since he made it clear he isn't interested in Pikari. Pikari's still flirting, but it's just annoying now, not alarmingly forward.

Saz, forget warning Clear as strongly as here >>507495. Instead, tell her the Pikari is really attracted to amstvanes, and came on to you really inappropriately, but you laid down that you're not interested and Pikari backed off to just flirting. Say that you think you can handle that long term if Pikari's hired.

Having Pikari on board might actually help you by learning how to stand such an annoyance.

They're usually really, really formal. They have a really rigid social structure. Only the people at the top have to do all the ceremonial stuff, but kigavi in general are known for being uptight.

This Pikari is nothing like any other kigavi I've met at all.

>Are they an all female species or what?
N-no, they, uh... they can, um... they have... how do I put this...

They have both kinds of... um... stuff.

>Tell Clear about stuff! Glare at her in a suggestive manner.
I don't think I know how to do that!

"Clear, um, about Pikari..."

"Yeah?"

"They, um... they really like amtsvane."

"Oh, that's good. Some people don't, you know." I don't think she's paying attention to me...

"No, like, like like amtsvane."

"Huh?"

"Oh, um... can I talk to you, uh, alone, Clear?"

"Uh, not right now. There's a lot of bureaucratic bullshit I've got to deal with because my brother can't do his fucking job. I should be done with it by the time you find the other guy, though."

"I... I guess that's okay..."

I can only imagine that Pikari is highly qualified and turns out to be a shoo-in and ends up spending many long hours in the same room as you on the ship. Don't feel sad, they seemed very nice.

Let's go back to that area we found Pikari in and start looking around. And hope this other person isn't ALSO going to try to fulfill their fantasies with you in the middle of a crowded room. What are the odds you'll get embarrassed twice?

Yeah the chance of encountering two individuals with an abduction/ravaging fantasy they would actually play out with a total stranger are pretty bad. Let's just look around same as we did before.

Pikari seems like a nice person, just make it clear that you just aren't that into it, and I'm sure you'll have a pleasant friendship. You DO need more friends, comrade. Isolation isn't healthy. Or maybe it is. I have no idea how your species' psychology works.
>>
No. 510541 ID: 9e1727

Hey, don't be so down. Pikari might not even get the job, and even if they do Kargi is going to be on the ship too, so Pikari is going to be splitting their attention between you and him. Heck, for all you know Kargi is into kigavi and Pikari will be all over him and you won't even have to face Pikari's sexual advances.

Since talking about such things is hard for you, what about writing them down or otherwise recording them? You could stop for a few minutes to make a brief message about Pikari's actions, and then give it to Clear when you come back.

Now, on to finding this sagudo. He's going to be as lost as Pikari was, so head back to the main concourse and watch for a lost looking sagudo. Try looking for one that's wearing attire that'd be in line with going to a job interview.

And just so you don't get lost again, head to an information booth and get a map of the spaceport's main terminal and mark where the office is. That's at least one thing you can do better than the last go around.

That didn't go so well. At least I didn't get hit on.

Saz quickly notices that there's another sagudo sitting alone at a table right near the last one.

Okay. Let's try this again. Saz, you can do this.

"Um, excuse me."

The sagudo looks up at Saz for a moment but doesn't say anything.

Um.

"E-excuse me. I'm looking for someone?"

Does this place have some kind of intercom system where you can get the staff to call people? Some big stores or airports let you send out a message if you're separated from your group or need to find someone so maybe you can do that here too.
>>
No. 523123 ID: 5d4146

Ask him, but maybe keep tabs on the other Sagudo you spoke to earlier, the one that glared at you. Might be the Hiru you're looking for, tbh...
>>
No. 523580 ID: bc8d67

Well, Saz, it was embarrassing, but you did learn a few things about these sagudo, and from that can infer some things.

The first sagudo is most likely not here for the interview, since she outright said she was only waiting for a shuttle. The second one is also unlikely to be here for the interview, since Town almost certainly wouldn't bother with a candidate that couldn't even speak the language. Though, there is a chance he may be able to read and write the language, and Town only communicated with him through typed messages, so it's not 100% certain he's not hear for the interview. Better try to communicate with him again.

You're going to need a piece of paper and a pen. Write down "Is your name Hiru?" and under that "Are you here for an interview with Town for a job on a ship?" in large, clear letters on it. Show it to the second sagudo, pointing to it and then to his translator device. It's almost certain that he could key the text in, get a translation, and give you a response that way.

Even if he doesn't turn out to be the sagudo you're looking for, that paper with your questions on it will help you out quite a bit, since you have so much trouble with speaking. You could just go up to a prospective sagudo, say "excuse me" and show them the paper. It'll be a bit embarrassing, but considering the only other option left is an announcement over the PA system, this is better.

The sagudo hands the device over to Saz, a bit reluctantly.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't designed for an amtsvane at all. It's tiny!

... Okay I think I found some kind of keyboard...

Saz hands the device back to the sagudo, who starts tapping away. After a few moments he hands it back over, smiling.

He said something out loud but I couldn't understand any of it. Does this guy not speak the trade language?

Well, Clear did say the sagudo's name is either "Hiru" or "Tontor," so the name "Hiru Tontor" pretty much means this guy is who you're looking for. And even if he isn't Clear couldn't fault you for it with what little info you had to go on to find the job candidate.

Place the tablet on the table so it's a little bit easier to use with your huge fingers and type out "Yes. Follow me to the interview." Best to keep it simple, since the translator might choke on something more complex.

Seems odd that he doesn't know the trade language, considering he's interviewing for a position where his coworkers only communicate in it. You can ask Clear about that when you get back. Maybe Town messed up and Hiru was supposed to interview for a different job.
