Or just use it over the wooden sword. A wooden sword is a WORSE weapon for actual combat then a wooden staff. It is practically worthless... it is just a funny shaped and inefficient club.

You can create different shapes with ether ice or water.

Ice retains its form quite nicely, forming solid (though slippery)shapes and forms.

Water, however, loses it's shape the instant you stop your focus.

This sends a wave of energy out with great force.

This does nothing.
It appears to work only with a given material.

2[ICE/WATER]
This infuses the ice/water with more magic.

Yes, force-shape should work to create a shield out of rock. Making a shield out of ice would also work, with ice-shape. We could then launch the ice with force-force, I guess. Maybe even shatter it immediately before launching it, to result in a hard to dodge shotgun effect.
