No. Possessing the Prince is a really good plan. This would disrupt the ritual without a trace, keep the prince alive and give us a privileged position. However, our presence can't be felt. We can't go personally. If we're captured, all is lost. Doubt that there's any other suitable vessels for us, like Kalasha and the prince. Not to mention that Mabón, Ostara and Beltrane are far better suited for this task. The Paired Stones. Let's try them.
>>
No. 368441 ID: 453e62

except the plan relies on the prince being far away from the ritual, and in a room CONNECTED to the ritual room. which is where i would place any sacrifices. meaning that we would alert everyone to our presence no matter what. also we may be the only ones capable of stopping the ritual. godly power against godly power. simply put, not going ourselves would be putting too much on us being lucky and the enemy being very stupid. and with how they have been acting so far, they aren't stupid. insane maybe, but not stupid.

We'll take that your lordship doesn't believe in the abilities of Mabón, Ostara and Beltrane and want to sacrifice them and Kalasha. Unacceptable. Being discovered means torture and death. We have little knowledge on the enemy installations, much less of the ritual. Not enough, there is the possibility that our presence can be felt when out of our temple. This would ruin the mission and is a risk that we can't take. In the case of their god being successfully invoked, we will be the only hope of this world. The prince will is already on our side and we need to create a strong connection with his majesty, like Kalasha did with us. Physical contact is unnecessary, we travel through minds and souls, not bodies.

1. that is again assuming they can detect us.
2. if we are discovered how are they gonna catch us? we are a GOD. cast FUCK YOU at them.
3. again, how are we going to get to the prince AT ALL when he is most likely in a cell RIGHT NEXT TO the ritual room.
4. the connection with kalesha was made by not only being our high priest but having a large group of people giving him their energy. a single person praying at a single ball would not be enough to make a blip.

i am saying stopping the ritual would be easier then trying to sneak a glass ball to the prince.

Not an option. This would cause civil war. Kalasha doesn't have our powers, just our presence. Were we brought in our totality, destroying the minds of our enemies would be effortless. Doubt that the extension of Dark Priest's powers are sufficient for this task. Concerning the energy, our followers will already be in a frenetic tune prior to the infiltration. Our weapons are distraction, subterfuge and incapacitation. That's why we created this plan and recruited Mabón, Ostara and Beltrane.

You missed the part about them doing a lengthy ritual to channel the Light God's full might, whereas we were called in haste. In other words, the possession they're working on is NOT equal to our possession, and in fact there're different terminology for both.

"A large scale drunken bender; Glorious. I'll make sure a good portion of our followers will be 'partying' around their headquarters."

"... Would this be wise? Something so bold will alert our enemies."

"That is the beauty, geomancer. We know they're up to something; we're letting them know we know; and they'll know we know they know..."

"... and we get in while they scramble about in this nonsense."

"... while you two are musing, I'll be figuring how to get eight hundred people drunk for a night without depleting our coffers. We'll be owning favors to every single innkeeper in the region at this rate."

"Now, about the Prince..."

"That idea hangs on too many assumptions."

"Feasibility aside, that IS a good plan. "

"What?"

"The Heir prince is certainly the centerpiece of this madness; if our powerful Lords can take him as a vessel before the God of Law, their ritual would be ruined."

"Sir, we have no reason to believe--"

"-- but fabricating a... an artifact for this task would be foolish. If anything, Ostara's bond should prove to be a stronger conduit than anything we could ever manufacture."

"Huh?"

"What?!?! She isn't even a mage! Much less a battery!"

"A pact of blood is one of the strongest bonds. She already made her dedication clear; we are not taking anything she didn't offer."

"... understood. When the need arises. You can count on me, my Lords."

i am sure if you explain that divinely controlled people that never feel sadness or happiness don't drink at all they would be willing to co-operate.
>>
No. 368597 ID: f31dfc

Not only that, but I am pretty sure when we manage to deal with the god of law, weekly tavern nights would be ok to add to our religion. After all, if this goes perfectly, we would have to thank drunken singing to our success. Would be good business in the long term for the bars and taverns.

Besides, alcohol can make people act erratic and in ways people don't expect them to. I'm sure the god of law would be against such a chaotic thing and would try to restrict drinking if he got his claws on this plane.
>>
No. 368603 ID: b6edd6

You know, we should go further with letting them know that we know their plans. If we still have skilled personnel to spare, we should set in motion a second, somewhat more direct plan to disrupt their ritual, because they will know we are up to something.
>>
No. 368610 ID: f31dfc

Nah, we shouldn't do a direct move on them. If we do, it gives them a reason to go after our other followers. Not only that, but it would focus their intent inwards to protect the tower.

With a spread out, non aggressive threat, they NEED to have people keep an eye on them and so long as our followers don't do anything outright hostile, they can't just beat them down and go for the next group. In short,
let them think that our plans don't involve the tower itself while our true plan is carried out.

>>
No. 368639 ID: f31dfc

Hmmmm.. while a ritual would be handy I don't think it will help either. An open ritual would invite too much trouble to our worshipers. It could be considered an outright act against them which means they could retaliate fully since we would be doing it close to them.Even then, they had time to prepare and the home field advantage. In a outright ritual duel, we would most likely lose.

However, that doesn't mean we could use bits of that with our party strategy. Think of the poem I said before. It did two things, defamed the god of law, and make us look good even though they were lightly concealed.

I am not 100% on this, but praising can be considered a form of worship which was used to empower gods and the like. Not only that, but the songs may distract the Law God's worshipers keeping them from doing their all in their ritual. It wouldn't be able to outright clash with it, but we could weaken and delay them bit by bit. The praise to us in the area may even allow us to subtly help them as well.

Perhaps we could use some bards in our flock who are good at making up songs and such. Just keep them subtle on both parts and we should be good.

So fellow Legion and followers, what say you? Think this hybrid idea has merits?

"Righto!"

"I need to stop by my room, I'm going to need my tools..."

"That can also be arranged..."

"To counter their rituals, ours would need to weave the same energies they are manipulating in reverse. And without the knowledge of the rite, motions, scale, materials, purpose..."

"They're going to bring the God of Law to dominate the Prince, isnt that enough?"

"There are way too many ways, young one. While there is little difference between barley or wheat, whether the Heir Prince is a conduit or not is one we cant ignore. Without knowledge we can't guess their methods, and even then--there might not be enough time to set a proper counter up."

"But-- with our Lords here... why exactly did Kalesha call you here, my Lords?"

Your curiosity and skepticism are really appreciated, Sagerd. This shows why you were chosen by The Dark Priest.

Kalash called us to save this world. We come to argue between ourselves, mostly. Now we're here because we took a shine to you guys and your brown world. Let's roll. We need to save some asses, including those of your stupid enemies.

To reverse the ritual would mean to summon all our glory and ignominy to this reality. We advice heavily against this. We just need to disrupt the ritual. After that we may get to the bottom of this whole mess. Don't want to sound ominous, and this is really hard with so many convoluted voices, but the "God of Law" may be the least of our problems...

You are perceptive.
Exceedingly perceptive indeed.
Yet for all that you see, you do not see enough.
We are Chaos, Will, Freedom. Efficiency, though desirable, is not in our nature.
If you believe your mind open enough to understand such thoughts, consider this: In all existence there is balance, and all reality exists in moderation. Too much, and all becomes as unto fire. Too little, and all things slow into an icy death.

We are the fire, and the freedom, and the power!
If The Legion were ever singular, all would burn before its gaze, and the very concepts of reality would tear asunder in the presence of The Legion. It would only be stopped if we were to exert all of our focus into creating a new reality with laws enforced by our own power, binding ourselves in a final attempt to restore reality, in a bid to survive against the Void.

As you can guess, we don't really want that. If there is no order, Chaos is formless. If there is no Chaos, Order is without meaning.

For you, every moment is precious. However, your time is nothing but a triviality to us. Anyway, devotion is paid with devotion, and every opinion is carefully estimated. Don't underestimate you and your peers, Sagerd. Never forget, apprentice, every god needs the care and dedication of it's flock.

IT'S nature is order and law. Perfect circles, perfect rows, all that stuff. Neat tidy and dull as a round stone. Yet you are saying we have not won ONCE. Not a single time?

I can get that we likely let it win more than a few times, but that is NOT chaos! Chaos is BREAKING the odds, SHATTERING rules and SMACKING law in the jaw! Not winning once isn't chaos, it's LAW! We are basically contradicting ourselves!

No way am I letting that happen. If we are chaos, we are going to make 0% into 100%! We'll snatch that bright bastard's victory from it's maw and make it ours! It's order, it's rules, we will SMASH. THEM. TO. BITS.

We as its agents? We say you are! You are here to trick us!

We all shall be the mortal! We can take turns!

Defeat is always entertaining...

Is it here? Did we see it leave?

Not fair! Our turn is now!

It is here. It left it in its place.

We will not let you go back!

M-maybe its not important. Sabbat is stable, and the agents must have arrived at the Temple of Light. Did you glean any knowledge from the book?"

Some of us yearn for victory, others yearn for defeat. It is our nature. Fear that they know of our movements. The book, the Temple of Light and the castle. Have our men ready to retreat at any given moment. Evacuate the city, anyone who is not participating in this mission. We must pay a visit to your sovereign. And Sagerd, everything is of importance. Please, do tell us what happened here.

Well- um- if youu deem important. You tranced quietly for maybe half an hour, then woke u and asked for some tea....
A-and then wanted to do target practice, cut a hole on the floor, taught Al-Ahad about 'pasta'... Sabbat tried to stop you when... you were trying to conjure a small diamond. Among other things.

Wait. Evacuation? When? Why? That can be done?? Where would people go?
>>
No. 375418 ID: 453e62

not everyone, just everyone within a area. take the map and draw a circle so that one edge goes through the middle of the castle with the tower in the middle and another circle that is just inside it's zone. everything between those two circles. not sure why this other one thinks it needs to be evacuated but it is suspicious.

We could set them up to shelter in place. We'd want to make only the ground-zero folks evacuate, the rest could do a SIP on the periphery.

But why are we evacuating? This is supposed to be a moment of triumph!

Nothing yet.

He's been too quiet so far. I don't like it.

Our Masters believe in our ability to do this without them, as they have done so far.

Well, our trip so far is most on Mabón's credit. And the drunken brawl's. But not his.

Cold feet, Beltrane.

I just doubt we can shadow our way trough ten thousands of people. Its like every shinymen and their families are here.

Hmn. Chanelling a confusion trick would work very nicely.

... this place feels so...

Don't bother. They're doing some heavy perception distortion here, that tower, its... it isn't even that shape.

... we should find where the real tower lies.

Technically, we should find a door. And we should assume everyone here is under the same glamour... fooling their followers selectively sounds a bit too...

You assume this is by design, to awe those here. We should not assume all of them are 'fooled'.

Mnh?

Our lords tired to clear my sight, but they see the same as before.

That's not a good sign.

Ostara, Beltrane. I bring the gift of disguise.

Finally. This should be enough to blend in, barring magical detection.

We should move. We need... is that the tower?

Maybe we should figure first what we're looking for. Lords?

I say they don't care, never did. They've been awfully quiet when we were on our way here, and now they're just pretending to give us guidance.

You can't possibly be serious.

Now you show a lack of loyalty with your lack of faith?

And why not? What have they said -- what have done since we came into this crazy mindscape?? Besides stalling?!

Hey, shut up. Kalasha can't be trippin' that hard.

... what do you mean, Mabón?

I mean, that cant be all. If it is, what chance do we have?

Mabón, you are a fool to question our designs. We admire your courage in speaking of your lack of faith before us, but you have not the comprehension we have. We have our plan, and our plan requires patience, and faith. Honestly, do you expect your Lords to work in ways that you can perceive?

This entire situation could easily be handled by the church on it's own power and funding. Yet we come, to offer our guidance and wisdom. Ask yourself, "Why?" We aren't as whimsical as you might believe. We act as we see fit, and you would do well to have some faith that we know what we're doing.

That is how my trust is paid. I wonder for what reason I have fought my own brethren and mustered my best to help your cause.

Beltrane, be aware of your insignificance. We have many worlds at our disposal, but always ran to help those who call for us. Always. Your betrayal was as obvious as your cries for help. That is why I offered a second chance, why I chose to trust you. Now, you who must choose. Help your brothers to escape the clutches of a tyrannical entity or hide in the comfort of your own ignorance?

Mabón, your distrust is commendable. However, we defend freedom, and stupidity is the greatest of all prisons. You do not trust in the ability of your companions, nor in the decision of your leaders, but still risk your life? For the fool and coward I gave the chance of quitting.

This offense is far too great. I should abandon you two, but there are still numerous followers risking their lives to make this mission successful. I am here to save your world, not to meet your miserable insecurities.

Anyway, do not assume that we do not have our own limitations. That is why I need your skills, why I trust in you. I want the map, a clearer picture and a better description. Now. The benefit of the doubt is not something that we have at the moment.
