It's fine! It doesn't do much, though. Absorbs sun. Grows. Wiggles in the wind.

I tried talking to it, but it didn't say anything. You're the first thing that's said anything when I talked to it.

You know what? I'm gonna call you a people. That's my new word for a thing that can talk. Like me!

Um... I dunno! I think I was me for a while before I woke up. I never really thought about it before, though.

Hmm.

You know how it gets light, and it stays that way for a while, and then it gets dark, and it stays that way for a while? It's done that lots of times since I woke up. Does that help at all?

Everything's so much clearer now! I didn't realize how much the hard thing got in the way until it was gone! I can tell stuff about the grass by touching it, and I can hear noises a lot better, and the light! I mean, I kind of knew it was there, but barely any of it actually touched my eyes! Wow! What was I wasting my time in that shell for?

OOC INTERRUPT: Time for you to decide which world this is taking place in! We could be on Route 34, and have trainers and wild pokemon afoot, or we could be in the Mystery Dungeon universe, where pokemon run shops and delve dungeons. I'm also open to alternative ideas if they're sufficiently supported. This is a big decision, so I'll give people some time to weigh in!

>>
No. 250940 ID: 561b6b

Thinking this through logically, the pokemon in question should be:
1) functionable in the water, and
2) strong enough to lift the in-game representation of us out of the water.

So, clearly, the only logical choice must be Pokefan Brandon.

...He's close enough to a pokemon, right?

...Alright fine.

Bidoof, Tentacool, Krabby, Corsola, even Buizel are viable. Assuming this is Route 34, of course.

I think a Hoothoot would make for a good "voice of experience"-type to counterbalance Bubblegum's naivete, but they're not really "in the water"-types. Aside from skimming. The amorphous blob looks kinda Corsola-like, so I'll vote for that one.

My mousing hand is giving me issues, so I'm gonna rest it, which means no art today. I will comment on a few of your suggestions, though.

I don't want to do Gardevoir because it's the fully-evolved form of the line, and I want BG's partner to have some growing to do too. Ralts would be acceptable.

The trouble with Abra is that the only move it has until it evolves is Teleport; otherwise I wouldn't have a problem with that.

I don't want to do Gen V pokemon because I don't know a lot about them, but I'm willing to be convinced on the point.

As for Lopunny, (a) you'd get Buneary and (b) Buneary is time-consuming to draw. I'd rather not, but if more people pile on that bandwagon, I'll suck it up.

There have been a couple of suggestions I really liked--I won't say which so as not to bias you towards them--and I look forward to continued suggestions, if you have any! Art to resume tomorrow.

Yeah. He's just a kid. And we're here to take care of him, so back off, Ryu. We're his best and only friend right now, with all our mysterious and inanimate powers. We helped him out of his egg. It was adorable, you should have seen it.

Point is, we're on his side. We may not be the BEST at giving advice, but.. well, actually, maybe we are, given us being us, but also the worst. It averages out in the middle, but we're here to be watch over him, protect him, and guide him. It's what we do.

You don't know what the Rage is?

Um. Okay. You should know this too, little guy.

People have been going crazy all over the place lately. They get super angry, and then they just start lashing out, trying to hurt anyone they can. It's pretty scary, and we don't know what's causing it. We've started calling it the Rage.

The good news is, we have a cure. There's a lake near town that's got some sort of... magic water. It glows a little, in the dark, and it makes the apples that grow near it glow too. If you drink the water or eat the apples, you don't--

--get sick. (That was kind of disturbing.) And if someone does have the Rage, if you can get some fruit or water into them, they'll recover, eventually.

There are pools like ours in different places around the world... we set up towns around them, a long time ago, because we could tell they were special places. As long as you stay in town, you're pretty safe; the people with the Rage don't seem to like coming here for some reason. Maybe the same reason the water is so special.

But out there is pretty dangerous now, and we still have to travel from place to place to get the things we need. Some people have started hiring themselves out to protect travelers or rescue people who've disappeared. Plus, some people have been trying to find out what causes the Rage, so maybe we can stop it at the source. That's what people like Miz Hunny do; she rescued me, and you too.

"Yay rescued!"

...so. You're some sort of... talking advice powder... thing. Only you don't know anything about the Rage. And you sound a little crazy.

Cheerful little guy. Well. I'm not sure what you are, exactly, but I don't think you're going to be doing any harm. Especially like this. I'm gonna ask around, find out if anybody's heard of something like you, and maybe find someone who can fix you. In the meantime... heh, stick around, I guess.

Hm. This place is mostly made of tree, but the ground is still dirt. There are holes in the tree that let light in, and some plants growing near the sides; some of them have a kind of leaf I haven't seen before on their tops. Other plants are growing on the tree; I think I'll call them 'vines'.

There's a piece of tree nearby, mostly the bottom of a tree; the top part's been cut off to make it flat and round. Near it is another, smaller piece of tree, maybe from a branch; it's been made flat and round too.

You're in a thing made of rock... Ryu called it a 'jar', I think. There's another, flatter jar that has some 'fruit' in it. Which reminds me: when I ate the 'apple', it felt good! I'm going to call that feeling 'sweet'. The fruit senses like it's sweet too, but I can't be sure unless I touch it.

There are two spots where dried grass has been piled up; I'm on the big one, and there's a little one too.

There's stuff outside; I can't see it, but I can sense it. Some tree, some plant, some grass, some stone. No people, I think.

Does Floony have something else he needs to be doing now? If so, say bye for now then look inside that metal box thing on top of the something made of tree.

If not, how about we ask him more about himself? Is he a part of a team of helper people? Is he a shop owner/worker? Favorite food? Favorite game? Favorite town-based activity? Favorite "restricted to one area" activity? Stuff like that.
