As if there was anything to actually discuss.

This was a fast derail and I'm really happy you rolled with it.

Currently my favorite quest

I'm a firm believer in rolling with the punches.

Seeing as this is my first quest here, that really means a lot to me. Thank you.

What are all of Don's spells?

I like the style of your quest. It also reminds me of Kome; a lot. Neat overall, and I'll keep reading it.

How much of the quest mechanics/background were planned ahead of time? (coolness system, spooks everywhere, dale being a vampire hunter)

Don is an independent man of many mysteries, his capabilities being one of those mysteries. Though from what we have seen, you do know he can...
>Summon wolves
>Created underground traps of some kind
>Heal people
>Use vine whip

I'm glad you enjoy this style of quest.

PDDCASTP is a fun balance of both preplanned mechanics and background and openness for the readers to shape the world to an extent. As such, some mechanics were decided from the start, some came naturally, and others were completely decided by the readers. Taking your examples into account.

>Coolness system
Phillip Dollarfield, from the very start, is a story about trying to be cool. I knew from the beginning that a system for cool would be important, so that was general made ahead of time, with fine tuning as the quest goes on.

>Spooks everywhere
As the quest went on, spooks felt like a natural progression from both the preplanned aspects and the direction the readers were going. There needs to be something for people to fight for coolness, and there would have to be some supernatural pest problems for anyone working in the vampire hunting business, so spooks just felt right. They will continue to play an important role in the "gameplay" and the narrative.

>Dale being a vampire hunter
That was an aspect made completely by the readers. I decided that it would be more engaging for the readers to let that be the case (as there was a clear vocal support for it) and rolled with it. I'm glad we got some great results out of that development.

What happens if coolness levels exceed 100?

You'll be a very very popular. That's all I'm willing to say at this time.

That works too.

What additions would you like to see added to the quest's wiki page to better explain the quest and its world?
No. 97985 ID: 99a64d

Well, the explanation of "Phillip Dollarfield Doesn't Care About Saving The Princess is a text quest about trying to be cool." isn't really accurate, because with the inclusion of Don being cool isn't necessarily something we're going to focus on too much. It would be more accurate to say that it's a quest about hunting vampires and other assorted spooks.

I'd like a list of spells that Percy and Don can teach, please.

I just wanted to drop by and say that this is one of my favorite quests. It's in that sweet spot of being just sandboxy enough without feeling directionless. It's silly without being too ludicrous to ever take seriously. And the "gameplay" is really fun. 10/10 quest.

Thank you so much! PDDCASTP isn't the biggest quest out there, so that really is meaningful to me.

What ever happened to this quest? I miss it.
