Well, I am relatively new to quests and all and I have more than a few questions.

I found this site on a whim and needless to say I'm hooked. The whole quest thing I like, especially the interactivity. I have done a bit of writefaggotry for /x/ and /co/, and I would be very interested in running one of these quests. I don't have any /tg/ experience though so I am not sure where to start. What are some tips for a new guy?

Sorry about no file, this is me posting from an iPod.

Learn to draw, specifically to draw furries.

Ignore the sergal.

Do not learn to draw furries. It goes against the belief of this board.

Drawing is definitely a plus, but if you're a skilled enough writer, people will read a text quest.

You don't need to know /tg/ conventions to run a quest. We started there, yes, but tgchan is open to any genre.

Ok then, heh.

I can draw but it is by no means good. Unfortunately the train I am currently on has no scanner so I can't upload any works. Maybe that's a good thing. Anyway once I get out of transit I'll post something. My main concern is that I pull a faux pas and I'm run off the board or something. I just want to know what to do and what not to, for starters.

Well, basic internet tactic: lurk. Go through the archives, binge a few hours. You'll find that we do tolerate a lot, so long as its amusing.

I don't recall tgchan ever running anyone off the board...

Then again, bad quests... have a way of disappearing due to a lack of audience participation.

I think the only guys who got uniformly negative reactions were Chaptermaster from way back and that incoherent "narwhal quest" thing.

At least, those are the only ones I remember.

DMC quest.
And I think Silence got ignored to death.

But NarhwalQuest sounds pretty cool. ):

Here's something I doodled on the train ride home. Like I said, it's not good.

It's also huge, so sorry about that.

Narwhal wasn't a cool quest, trust me.
Your art is fine, and really any sort of illustration will work. It's just to draw us in. Story is just as important (unless of course your art is insane) and seeing as you're a writefag you should do that just fine.
Rock on.

Derp.
Irc is irc://irc.rizon.net/rubyquest
or use #tgchan. We have two channels, so we can talk about people behind their backs more easily.

Read Journey, Rubyquest (on the /tg/ archive), and MS Paint Adventures (Specifically Problem Sleuth), that should give you a pretty good idea on how to run a standard quest. All three are examples of finished and fantastic interactive comics.

Oh, alright. I need to install a client because this one doesn't have any.

How does nonamescript work, by the way?

I think I'm ready to launch this quest soon.

I can't think of a name for it though.

Forgot to post with name. And I didn't finish that post.

That's supposed to be the "splash page" to open with, eventually there will be a name on it somewhere.
