Act like you don’t know he’s a vampire.

“Hey, just because I was leaving, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t come back for a round 2! And you were a pretty good lay in bed, some I would’ve definitely come back for that 2nd round!”

Looks like there’s a faceted gemstone where one of his eyes is, so expect magic bullshit. Most likely magic that’ll aid him in aiming that bow he’s wielding. So, maybe dark-sight, maybe targeting prediction, see-through vision, maybe some other optical thing that’ll aid him.

Whatever it is, better move like he’s got better aim than mortals. Keep low, move fast, don’t stop, stick close in to the mansion for as long as you can so he can’t get a good aim on you, and move behind any cover, preferring solid cover like trees, walls and stone planters. Also better assume he’s got super strength and his bow is built with a matching requirement to draw it back. This means he can shoot heavier arrows way farther than a mere mortal. So stick to solid cover if you can, lest you get the nasty surprise of a arrow nailing you through a hedge. And do not assume you are free and clear until you are in the inn and with Ema for protection.

Hm, you're right. And looking again I can see the needle ended proboscis extending from his mouth, antenna from his head and wings on his back too. All like what the vampire that Ema encountered had right before she impaled them.

Well, that said, still expect heightened senses due to him being a vampire. Night vision and steadier aim and suchlike.

>Justina, make sure you pray as hard as you can to whatever gods that’ll listen. Because you’re gonna need all the help you can get!
The gods have never listened to you before and they won’t start doing it now. Frick the gods.
>Sass. Sass like your life depends on it.
Well, if anything it will buy you time to think… and if he’s angry he might do mistakes.

:JustinaFoS: Meh, eternity seems a bit overrated, doesn’t it? I mean, can you imagine having to wake up every night just to piss for the next thousand years, eh? It would be nothing but an eternity of boredom! But I’ll have no fear of that, what with me spending my time on the run from wolfhounds, angry mothers and wives as well as an occasional persistent paramour.
:NonFoS: …we don’t need to use the facilities?
:JustinaFoS: That does explain why you guys are so full of shit at least.
:NonFoS: You honestly think some petty insults will save you!?

>Looks like a bow.
That is indeed a bow… so no running in straight lines. The little experience you have with those has thought you that you rather not have experience with them at all if you can help it.
>Stick close in to the mansion for as long as you can so he can’t get a good aim on you, and move behind any cover, preferring solid cover like trees, walls and stone planters.
Sticking close to the mansion would mean that you would run right into the hounds, as they would be released from it. Of course, if you’re able to run in the opposite direction of the hounds you would be able to escape both dangers, but you rather not bet your life on a coin flip as you have no idea from which direction they’ll release them.

:JustinaFoS: I was hoping I might get a bit off a head start, actually.
:NonFoS: What!? Why would I give you that!?
:JustinaFoS: You’re supposed to be a mythical creature of charm and delight. Not giving a lady a bit more even playing field would just be rude!
:NonFoS: This isn’t some… some game!?

>I imagine you've had to outrun and evade dogs before. Use whatever dirty tricks you know to do exactly that.
You usually prefer using drugged meat or the like, but sadly you’re rather ill prepared for the current predicament. Of course you still have your magic. Though not powerful, it should be enough to make some high pitched sounds to disorient any hound that gets to close. Other than that… you don’t think getting undressed / dressed quickly, cleaning yourself and your clothes up or lasting longer in bed will really be off help right now, so the rest of your magical abilities aren’t an option.
>If there really are dogs, then you need to either mask your scent or go somewhere they can't go, like inside another house.
There aren’t any houses nearby that would be wise to enter and you really don’t want to run across the roofs thanks to that bow the vampire have. Masking your scent might work if you’re able to get out of sight before the hounds arrive… but be it bow or hound, getting behind cover would be the ideal course of action right now.

:JustinaFoS: Speaking of legendary undead creatures, I have to say I was very disappointed with your performance. I was expecting a Sauvé gentleman sex god but all I got was some limp dicked virgin that’s clearly never even been near a lady before.
:NonFoS: WHAT!? I HAVE YOU KNOW I’VE PLEASED MORE LADIES THAN YOU HAVE EVER… ever… um… EVER SEEN!
:JustinaFoS: I’m sure you have, Mr. Tiny. It’s been lovely, but this bird’s gotta fly. I got a lot other unnaturally charming undead creatures to seduce and bed. Hopefully they won’t be as disappointing as you were… I was thinking maybe a Lich next? Or a Wraith? Say, you wouldn’t happen to rubbing elbows with one of those at your usual knob gathering, would you? Maybe you should put in a good wo-

>expect magic bullshit.

>If all else fails, run.
…welp, no time like the present.
:NonFoS: -not to mention I have more natural charisma than any stupid lich would ever- Hey, where did you go!?
:JustinaFoS: NIGERUNDAYOOOOO!
:NonFoS: Ni- the what now!? Huh!?

By the time he figures out what’s happening and whistle for the hounds to be released you’re already long gone. There’s no way those stupid muts will be able to catch up with you before you reach the haha at the edge of the garden.

You can hear an arrow hit the ground behind you as well as the barking dogs rounding the corner of the mansion, but by the time they manage to get a glimpse of the backyard you’re already behind a wooden fence and out of sight. The barking stop and you can only assume that the hounds weren’t able to follow you as the limp dicked vampire throws a bunch of curses at them while firing of yet another arrow that lands behind you. As long as you keep moving you’ll easily get away from-

Then you’re forced to skid to a halt as some Hiver man suddenly pops out from the ground in front of you!?

Alright, time convince Tunu that Tana is gone… or will be leaving… and wasn’t eaten by some blue bitch. Oran went inside his shop as Karn was waiting for him there, apparently, which gives you a perfect opportunity to talk to Tunu before she heads home. Alright, what’s the plan? You want her to know that you’re… that Tana is leaving forever… but not in a way that might cause her to try and follow you. Hmm… Tana always wanted to see the sea…

I'm not sure what we're seeing here, or how. The arrow missed her heart, yet there are red lines spiraling towards a blue thing in the middle...? It's like she's turning undead. Also very odd that she got shot through a wall, I guess vampires can see through walls (sense life?) or that one specifically had some kind of magical item that can do that.

>>951067
Wow, really? I wonder whose it was. Could be either really good or really bad. ...Karn isn't with her, so unless it's someone we don't know, she hooked up with Danus. Nice.

>what do?
Yes, remember the plan. Tana is in trouble because of that child she killed and has to run away, decides to finally go see the sea.
The confession will hopefully make Tunu like (you) less and make less of a fuss about leaving without her. Regardless, tell her you'll miss her and she should go legit now that you're gone. She doesn't have to make the same mistakes you did. If she asks for one last fuck uhhh I don't know what's in character for Tana, act natural.

Before you speak to Tunu, there is one very important thing you must answer: Can you speak telepathically like a Serpens? Because if you can't, then immediately abort the mission and slither away before Tunu spots you.

If you can speak telepathically like a Serpens, and it'll be exactly like Tana, then you can approach Tunu. Before stick your head around the corner, in a hushed tone tell Tunu to keep her voice low, then stick your head out and tell her to get into the alley with you. And be quiet; You don't have much time.

Once you're there tell her you fucked up. You fucked up BAD! You killed a kid. The kid of a big mob boss in the capitol. You didn't know he was her son, and you thought nobody would find you out. But his mom did find out, and she wants you alive to slowly torture to death. It's only by a fluke of luck you could escape and kill your captor before you were handed off to the big boss' gals. But there's no getting away from her. You're as good as dead. So, you're gonna run to the sea, if you can make it. Swim in it one time before... Before you end it all. 'Cause she won't stop 'till you're dead. And 'till then, it won't be safe for Tunu. She'll use her to get to you. So Tunu's gotta hide or run. Lay low for as long as it'll take you to get to the sea. If nobody comes for Tunu, then she can assume you're dead and she's safe. And don't try and follow you, got that? And don't try and avenge you either! Just be safe! Leave all the crap you drug her into behind and live a good life.

Your bit said, turn and slither away into the maze of alleyways, losing Tunu if she followed.

>>951065
Welp! That's some really bad luck to have Drago's vampire bug-collecting big bug buddy pop up out of the sewer right in front of Justina at this exact moment. (I assume it's him 'cause he's a fancily dressed male Hiver with a butterfly pin.)

>>951071
>The arrow missed her heart, yet there are red lines spiraling towards a blue thing in the middle...? It's like she's turning undead.
I assume the arrow was coated with vampire blood, and it's transforming Justina into a vampire, or a vampire thrall, 'cause the arrow killed her too. I figure having vampire blood in your bloodstream when you die turns you into a vampire or a thrall'd vampire. Well, looks like Oran's gonna be right about her being a vampire after all.

If you can’t convince Tunu to give up, then you can propose a toast to you two traveling together and slip some of that sleeping potion in her drink. Then when she wakes up, Ema can convince her that Tana had run off and left her behind.

>>951071
>...Karn isn't with her
We actually don’t know that for sure.

Ema said that Karn was waiting for Oran in his shop, but we don’t know if Karn was waiting alone. Alisa could be with Karn in Oran’s shop and they decided to have some fun while waiting for Oran to arrive.

>she hooked up with Danus. Nice.
I mean, Danus did tell us he wasn’t really attracted to Alisa’s body type, so I have my doubts that he would’ve changed his mind.

But if it is Danus, then yeah, glad those two got together. Not sure if they’ll stay together, but glad they could at least have a fun night together.

>I guess vampires can see through walls (sense life?).
Vampire is well known to have all kind of bullshit powers, so being able to sense blood or something wouldn’t be too farfetched. You really need to read up on what they can do if you want to hunt down and eat them later.
>Wonder whose it is that Alisa is with. Could be either really good or really bad. ...Karn isn't with her, so unless it's someone we don't know, she hooked up with Danus. Nice.
Nice? That’s not nice at all! Danus is your hubby and no one else’s! ...but as long as she isn’t trying to keep him to herself… *grumble*…
>Ema said that Karn was waiting for Oran in his shop, but we don’t know if Karn was waiting alone. Alisa could be with Karn in Oran’s shop and they decided to have some fun while waiting for Oran to arrive.
Considering how they acted when you left them together, you don’t think they would be in any mood for… “fun”.

>If she asks for one last fuck uhhh I don't know what's in character for Tana, act natural.
You d- Tana don’t have time for a last fuck. She needs to run away right now after all.
>Before you end it all.
You’re not some… Tana is not some wimp that would take the coward’s way out. You’d rather go down fighting; sticking a dagger in whomever it was that was coming for you.
>You killed a kid.
She already knows about that… though she thinks it was more of an accident that it really was…
>Can you speak telepathically like a Serpens?

As you turn around to slither away, Tunu grabs your shoulder and spin you around again, holding you in place.

:TunuFoS: What you need is to stay the night with me and think things through. Plan ahead. Have you even packed any food? Clothes? Do you have any plan at all? Also, you’re acting weird. What is wrong, Tana? Please, tell me… I need to know… otherwise I can’t help you.

Tell her yes, you planned this out. Someone's helping you get out of the city, so you don't have to worry about supplies or the any dangers on the way, but you won't tell her any more than that. Now you have to go, you're not even supposed to be talking to her!
Just fucking splash her with the damn sleeping potion if she won't let you go. Serpens drink with their bodies so it'll kick in pretty quick.

this, while not the nicest, feels like the best plan, there is a finality to this that, while it may cause Tunu to leave the city, will probably help Tunu be more on the lawful side of things. Tunu's options are respect the last thing Tana told er to to do or blindly search for Tana without knowing where Tana is going exactly other than 'the sea'
>>

Don't take her into Oran's shop yourself. Ring the bell and dash off. That way if there are any onlookers they will have an eyewitness account of behavior that fits with Tana's supposed motivations of wanting to run the fuck away.

:TunuFoS: Who? Is it someone we can trust?
:TanaFoS: I trust them enough. I trust them more than I trust staying in town any longer. So I got supplies and protections from danger, at least, better supplies and protection than I will have here tonight.

>Make her drink the sleeping potion, by force if you have to.
While the two of you were talking you discreetly poured some of the sleeping potion onto a rag. Then, while she’s distracted you force it into her face. She tries to pry you off her, but she is no match to your superior strength.
:TunuFoS: W-w-why?
:TanaFoS: Because it’s the only way you can be safe.

You catch her as she slumps forward… embracing her in one last hug.

>It may cause Tunu to leave the city.
She’s an intelligent lady. She won’t run off without preparing… or figuring out where, exactly, this non-existing Tana slithered off to. After all, the sea is a big place.
>Take her to Oran's place and be done with this.
Oran place is right there; at least the back door to his living abode, but… the door is locked. Oran went through the front entrance earlier, but as its name implies, it’s at the front… which is somewhere you rather not drag an unconscious lady to.
>Don't take her into Oran's shop yourself. Ring the bell and dash off.
…you knock on the door hard enough for Oran to hear and then disappear into the alleyways, leaving Tunu behind. If anything, you’ll soon double back as Ema if worst come to worst and Oran doesn’t answer the door. Either way, Tana is now gone forever…

The smell of wet mildew fills your nostrils as consciousness returns to you. After you manage to get past the burning pain in your chest and leg, you find yourself in a bed… and going by the décor around you, you’re going to guess you’re not back in the mansion. I am pretty sure it is karma. Or not, you just have to die of something, some day. You haven't yet, so that is "good" even tho you are fucked up physically.

If you ask me, you should just retire for the whole stealing business. Take it easy. I mean, is not like you have much of a choice now, your leg is fucked up beyond repair, and next time you kick the bucket, you transform into a monster, unable to see the sun.

I think you are lucky, there might be some people that might be able to cure you. For a price.

...wait, one thing to ask: is it possible to be a good vampire? Or at least one that isn't super evil?
>>
No. 951506 ID: d004e0

Consider that of all the vampires that you could have run into, you got lucky running into this one. He didn't take you back to the noble fuckboy vampire you were running from, instead taking you to probably his hiding spot. He bandaged your wounds, and he didn't suck out your blood while you were incapacitated even though he easily could have. Just hope he's a good enough person to help you not die here and now.

Share your name and ask him for his so you both can properly address each other. Then ask him if there's any way he could get a healer to you or you to a healer. Or how about getting healing potions to you? You think Ema is associates or friends with a alchemist. If he could get to Ema, then she could get him healing potions from the alchemist. Or he could buy 'em and you pay him back later. Even him getting more bandages and medical gear would help. Just, could he do anything to help you not die?

Ask him how that fucking noble could aim at you through the fence. Vampire magic bullshit, you assume. ...And also ask how that noble isn't gonna find you two. You had to have left a blood trail. And ask this guy why he's helping you.

Make sure to hold as still as you can so you don't aggravate your wounds. ...But do try and slightly wiggle the toes of your good foot and your fingers too. You may have taken spinal damage from the arrow and be partially paralyzed, so this will test for that.

>Make sure to hold as still as you can so you don't aggravate your wounds.
Considering how much pain you’re in right now, it hadn’t even crossed your mind to jump out of bed to aggravate anyone, let alone yourself.
>I am pretty sure it is karma.
What have you done that is wrong? You took things from people who literally feasted on the poor and gave it to do those in need… mostly yourself, sure, but you were in need at the time.
>If you ask me, you should just retire for the whole stealing business.
You desperately need the little money you can get a hold off. You can’t live like a bard, at least not one without fingers and a freaking foot…

>So he’s pretty much saying that if you somehow manage to not die, then you won’t become a vampire. And if you don’t die anytime in the near future, then you won’t be cursed when you do die in the far future.
So you won’t cheat death and become some kickass vampire if you just survive as a cripple for a little while? …great. Better ask how long you’re going to go around “cursed”, as he puts it.
:JustinaFoS: So… how long will I have until I can die without becoming cursed?
:AlFoS: Oh, I’m not sure… a week, if I might be as bold to guess? The corrupted hemoglobin in the blood is not known for its longevity so they would expire given some time. It is also rather vulnerable when exposed to direct ultraviolet light from strong enough source, as in say, the sun, so if you sunbathe enough they would die off before they can spread any further.
:JustinaFoS: …so vampire blood can’t survive in the sun. Got it.

>Share your name and ask him for his so you both can properly address each other.
:JustinaFoS: I am Justina. Who are you?
:AlFoS: …a pure white pigeon, with the accent of the west and a girth not found in those that starve. You are of noble decent, are you not?
:JustinaFoS: Huh? W-what? No, of course not.
:AlFoS: Your heartbeat betrayed you. Tell me of which noble house you belong to and I’ll tell you the one where my blood flows.
:JustinaFoS: …fine, I am of house Asil’an, of central Thalldran.
:AlFoS: A house that doesn’t have a member bearing your name, though I believe I know who you really are, wanderer of lost love. But if you wish to be called Justina then so be it, lady Justina.
:JustinaFoS: …and your name, sir aggravating?
:AlFoS: I am Al’ucark, former eight son of house The’ckran. But you can call me Al. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, lady Justina.
:JustinaFoS: Former? Let me guess, they kicked you out because you couldn’t keep your antennas out of other people business.
:AlFoS: They kicked me out because I refused to partake in the flesh of a young lady, not unlike yourself.
:JustinaFoS: …ah… vampires… I see…

>What's it going to cost to save your life?
:AlFoS: Do you need a reason to do a good deed?
>So why did he bother saving you?
:AlFoS: Because you were there and in need of aid?
:JustinaFoS: So you’re telling me you’re willing to risk your life for someone you’ve never met just because?
:AlFoS: Yes?

>Then ask him if there's any way he could get a healer to you or you to a healer. Or how about getting healing potions to you?
:AlFoS: You are stable as it is. What you need is some rest so your wounds can close before we can move you to a better location, like to an educated healer. I do believe there’s an old lady just outside town that’s rather well renowned?
:JustinaFoS: …so you want me to just lie here for the next week?
:AlFoS: Well, no… a full day or two should be enough. But then at the healer you’ll probably need an extended rest, yes.
>Ask how that noble isn't gonna find you two. You had to have left a blood trail.
:AlFoS: They are proud but ignorant. They will not even consider following us down here… and even if they figure out where we went, they’ll simply refuse to take a step down here as this place seldom agrees with the taste of nobles.
:JustinaFoS: …we’re in the old sewers, aren’t we? The smell would really have tipped me off.
:AlFoS: Indeed we are.

>Ask him how that fucking noble could aim at you through the fence. Vampire magic bullshit, you assume.
:AlFoS: The sound of your terrified heartbeat gave away your position. It’s an easy prey to stalk for a creature like us.
:JustinaFoS: So you can hear heartbeats… what else can you do?
:AlFoS: Why… this…

Al’s skin(or exoskeleton in this case) peels back as a large stinger like appendage forces itself out of his mouth. At the same time a pair of wings sprouts from his back and his eyes somehow manages to become even more insect like.

:AlFoS: WE SWARM THROUGH THE AIR, SEEKING OUT THE FLESH AND BLOOD THROUGH THE SOUND OF THE HEART TO CONSUME IT!
:JustinaFoS: BY JOVE!?
:AlFoS: My apologies. Changing shapes give you a bit of an adrenaline rush. But yes, we become better, faster, even stronger. We stop aging, regenerate any wound we might receive or have gotten in the past as well a plethora of lesser, less interesting “powers”.

>Is it possible to be a good vampire? Or at least one that isn't super evil?
:AlFoS: Wouldn’t you consider me a good person?
:JustinaFoS: That’s still under consideration.
:AlFoS: Not only did I save you without any motive but kindness, I also refuse the very thing that turn my brethren into the mindless host of the parasite, that is to say, the consummation of flesh.
:JustinaFoS: Didn’t you offer to drink my blood earlier?
:AlFoS: Blood and flesh is not the same. Besides, I only drink from those that are willing to give… and never enough to hurt those that I drink from.
:JustinaFoS: So if I get this straight, the only downside of being a vampire is that you can’t be in the sun?
:AlFoS: A vampire is only weak to the sun if they haven’t feed on fresh blood for a while.
:JustinaFoS: So… the only downside is that you have to drink a pint of pigs blood ever once in a while?
:AlFoS: The downside of this horrid curse is to be a slave to its terrifying hunger. To forever balance on the edge between becoming madden beast from starvation or becoming a host to the parasite, having your soul forced into the back of your head as your hands do deeds you have no control over. It is a curse that makes you live forever as nothing but a husk, just waiting for you to lose control over your own body one way or another.
:JustinaFoS: …and just how hard is it to not eat the flesh of your equals? I mean, you manage?
:AlFoS: There have been more times that I can count were I almost became mad with starvation. Why, just the other day I would have lost myself if it wasn’t for this handsome man that came by and offered me a whole hen to feast upon.
:JustinaFoS: So as long as you have the gold to buy hens…
:AlFoS: Then there’s the hunger! It’s like… a really bad tobacco addiction!
:JustinaFoS: …that doesn’t sound too bad?
:AlFoS: Do you know how hard it is to kick that shit?
:JustinaFoS: Not as hard as dying in a bed in some sewer as a cripple…
:AlFoS: It’s a horrid curse!

So, you’ll either live your life as a cripple that will probably be forced to go back home again just to survive, a place where you never wanted to return to, or you become a kickass vampire who eats a chicken every now and then while maybe drinking some blood from a cute boy or something. After all, this dork somehow manages to keep control, and they live in a freaking sewer.

…heck, if you become a vampire you might even be able to help clean up those other nobles that plagues this land… you mean vampires. The other vampires.

Don’t become a vampire.

You’ll always be forced to eat flesh and blood, you’ll never be able to eat any of your favorite foods anymore.

You’ll be hunted by monster hunters all the time! Why else do you think this guy is in the sewers? His face is probably on wanted posters everywhere!

>can help hunt down other vampires
No matter how good your intentions are, you’ll always be a monster that’ll eventually be hunted down and killed in cold blood. Nobody will remember you for your good deeds, you’ll just be another monster that was slain just for existing.

uh, ask his opinion on what he would do in your position. he may not have the best idea on why you don't want to return home but seeing how your boarder lined crippled and become a vampire could fix that little problem rather quickly I doubt he'd dismiss become a vampire outright but he most defiantly has a better idea on what it's like to be a vampire so it might not be a bad idea to hear what he has to say on the subject.

Also as for going vamp... truth be told, you kinda have horrible self control so...

Don't be a vampire!

Because like >>951608 said, you have horrible self-control.

You're most likely going to end up killing and eating the first 5 people you meet. By then, it'll be too late to start being a good vampire because you'll have become nothing more than a monster that needs to be killed!

Become a vampire. You know Ema is some kind of undead, she can help you cope alongside this guy. You can do it, believe in yourself. It will help that you've seen the consequences of what happens if you fail. You have been on the other side of the parasite's hunger, keep that memory in your mind.

Become something better than you are. Something out of the storybooks. A *romantic* vampire, and a bard at that! Seducing all the boys, drinking their blood to stave away the hunger, doing some monster/animal hunting with your powers to earn money... or just hunting animals for blood, that works too.
Actually, maybe you could become a vampire hunter? If you join a monster-hunting organization after earning their trust, they could also help keep you in line, and take you out if you ever slip up.

Treat your life as a very precious material thing. If you discard it casually, you might discard all lives casually. But if your prejudice is holding you back from a better existence, take the plunge at the near-last moment.

Since the curse activates if you die anyway, get to town and ask your friends about their opinions on turning into a vampire. Also, see if you can donate The Blood as part of that alchemist's regeneration potion, like help like and all that.

...well it wouldn't hurt to think about it a bit longer.

Justina needs to think about how resistant she is to hunger pangs. How long has she gone without food? Perhaps fasting for a day will give her a good indication of how difficult life as a vampire will be.

Justina saw Ema's head get torn off. She knows.

I don't think Ema would want to eat Al, since he's a good person, despite being a vampire. Justina isn't exactly a good person, so Ema kindof wants to eat her already, which might tip the scales if she goes vampire. However, even if Ema might want to eat her more, Justina would also be able to help Ema more. Vampires have powers that Wraiths do not.
Ema would obviously not gobble her up immediately, since she at the very LEAST needs information on what vampires are capable of. During the interrogation, Justina will also make the case that being a vampire does not inherently make you evil, and will prove it by taking Ema to Al.

She thinks she saw Ema's head get torn off. She still believes she imagined it due to the trauma of getting her hands and face burned by Terroza.

Also, I'm against having to control another undead character because that just makes things difficult for us. We're already having a little bit of difficulty controlling one undead lady, I'm not entirely sure we can manage two of them.

Do not become a vampire!

Do you know how many people you'd need to eat in order to maintain your thicc curvy body? A lot!

Another reason is that you'd be a perfect test subject for Oran's regeneration potion, so that he can make sure he perfects it. You can't be a test subject if you become a vampire!

>It's not like you have any worthwhile goal or any meaning in your life, so you probable will enjoy the supernatural unlife more than the cripple life.
No goal? But you do have a goal that you’re trying to reach. REVENGE! Or justice if you like that word better. Either way, becoming a vampire might actually help you with that…
>There are a lot of reasons why turning into a vampire is a bad idea, but your other choices are not great either. You really are fucked, no matter what you choose.
There are a lot of reasons why staying a cripple is a bad idea as well, so yes, neither option is a perfect one. But that’s life, isn’t it?
>Truth be told, you kinda have horrible self-control so...
What? No you don’t? Okay, you admit you might have a weakness for cute boy butts, but that’s not relevant to becoming a vampire, is it?
>You can do it, believe in yourself.
While you’d like to believe you can do it without a trouble, you know from experience that overconfidence is a slow yet insidious killer.
>You know Ema is some kind of undead, she can help you cope alongside this guy.
…is she? You did see her change shape… and you’re pretty sure her head popped into some kind of magical juice, but that doesn’t mean she’s undead, does it? She’s probably just some kind of illusionist or something… after all, if she was some kind of undead monstrosity that eat people she wouldn’t have saved you in the first place, right? She’s had complete access to your room as well, so if she was something evil she would have already done something.

>Become something better than you are. Something out of the storybooks. A *romantic* vampire, and a bard at that!
Considering what a disappointment that limp dicked vampire you laid earlier were, it’s not that high of a bar to become a better “romantic” vampire than them. In fact, isn’t it your duty to become a better vampire than them?
>Seducing all the boys, drinking their blood to stave away the hunger.
All the cute, lonely boys (and gals) out there that are dreaming of being whisked away by a gorgeous stranger of the night deserve a proper vampire to feed on them. Someone like you.
>Become the night.
Oh, yes, this is starting to sound better and better. Screw being just a bard, it’s time to become a freaking sex god!
>Do you know how many people you'd need to eat in order to maintain your thicc curvy body? A lot!
…can vampires even lose weight? It wouldn’t hurt if you lost a few pounds though…

>You’ll always be forced to eat flesh and blood, you’ll never be able to eat any of your favorite foods anymore.
:JustinaFoS: …can a vampire still eat normal food?
:AlFoS: Have you witness the banquets the baroness put on all the time? While it’s not as nourishing, those that have the means to feast upon normal food will do so just out of sheer gluttony.
:JustinaFoS: So you don’t need to eat flesh at all?
:AlFoS: The living blood and flesh of animals works as well, though the hunger for proper meat will still be ever present. I, myself, have survived on hens and pigs so far.
:JustinaFoS: …you know, I’m pretty sure you’re going to be just as hungry if you try eating a person. If it is a curse of hunger, it wouldn’t be that easy to sate.
:AlFoS: …I can’t say if that’s true. I have never tried to feast on someone. Drinking the blood does very little to quench the thirst, though.
>You’ll be hunted by monster hunters all the time! Why else do you think this guy is in the sewers? His face is probably on wanted posters everywhere!
:JustinaFoS: Why are you down here anyway? Monster hunters?
:AlFoS: What? No! I’m hiding from the others. They want to see me dead because I dared to refuse to fall for the parasite.
:JustinaFoS: So… you aren’t being hunted by monster hunters?
:AlFoS: How would a monster hunter even know that I was a vampire? I don’t go around eating people, after all. Also, if there are any monster hunters out there, they will have enough trouble dealing with the main nest, won’t they? They don’t care about some loner living in the sewers that isn’t a threat to anyone. As long as you’re not a menace that needs to be hunted down they will neither care nor be able to find you. After all, there’s no gold in killing something that isn’t dangerous.

>Ask his opinion on what he would do in your position.
:AlFoS: Morally, I don’t want the curse to spread any further…
:JustinaFoS: So don’t become a vampire, then?
:AlFoS: But personally, I think I would like to see you change.
:JustinaFoS: …wait, personally?
:AlFoS: You have stated that you do not wish to bend your knee to the hunger, to not become consumed by the curse, thus I can find you useful.
:JustinaFoS: Let me guess. You want my help destroying the other vampires?
:AlFoS: Exactly! Their vile debauchery needs to be stopped before it spreads any further. That… and I’m rather lonely down here. Having another vampire around when that handsome Sakkilian man isn’t around would be nice.
:JustinaFoS: …you want them destroyed so you can get your old life back.
:AlFoS: If you would put it so selfishly, yes. Or at least be able to live a more normal life in the city. But it is your decision. It is a horrid… blessing… and a curse. An amazing thrill yet an insatiable hunger.
>Ask if your fingers will regrow if you become a vampire.
:AlFoS: Your body will become perfect... healing all wounds and removing all blemishes. Vampires are beautiful… but there wouldn’t be much change for you, now would it? You already are gorgeous.

>Since the curse activates if you die anyway, get to town and ask your friends about their opinions on turning into a vampire.
…you don’t really have a lot of friends around this place? You guess you got Ema?
:JustinaFoS: Hey, can you take me to the Inn… um… what was it called again?
:AlFoS: Sorry, but I can only carry you somewhere the sewer goes… and it doesn’t go to any inns.
:JustinaFoS: So… then how about the training hall?
:AlFoS: No, sorry.
:JustinaFoS: …the alchemist lab?
:AlFoS: …if you mean the cheap one, then yes. Oran’s alchemy shop I believe it’s called?
:JustinaFoS: Yes, that’s the one. Oran was his name. He can go get Ema so I can talk to her. Carry me there.
:AlFoS: …if you wish.

As you enter Oran secret basement lab you’re met with the stench of spilled chemicals as well as the sound of two grown men acting like children. Going by all the shattered glass lying on the floor you can take a guess and say that Karn is currently in the process of destroying all the illegal substances Oran has produced… while Oran on his part is trying to stop him, though without any success.

One batch? Fine. You have an idea what to do with that. The noble he sold to next time will come back again, and you want to kill that person, since they're a vampire. Can't set up an ambush without bait, and that batch is going to be the bait.
Hmm, wait, is that wise? If one vampire goes missing, the others will come to investigate, and we're not invincible. I feel like we're going to need a better plan. Definitely gotta keep one batch of drugs around though.
...maybe we can poison the drugs? If the vampires are taking the drugs we can kill them without risk. ...Well, no, that's just as dangerous. It would kill the first vampire to take some, but unless they all drink the potions at once the others will immediately know the drugs are tainted and come after Oran.

:KarnFoS: I don’t think anyone would be able to escape if they were too busy being fascinated by their own hands. Though… wouldn’t the vampires get high after they drink their blood? Maybe that’s the point?

> You have an idea what to do with that. The noble he sold to next time will come back again, and you want to kill that person, since they're a vampire. Can't set up an ambush without bait, and that batch is going to be the bait.

The three of you turn around and find Justina suddenly sitting at the entrance to the old sewers. She looks like shit as well… and you’re pretty sure you heard someone scamper away from her into the darkness. Too bad there’s way to many chemicals around here for you to smell anything…

:EmaFoS: Justina? Where did you…?
:OranFoS: Hey! How did you get by the locked gate!?
:JustinaFoS: Let just say you might need a new lock.
:OranFoS: Huh? How did you... you broke it?
:EmaFoS: What happened to you? You look like shit.
:JustinaFoS: The quick version? I seduced a vampire, was attacked by said vampire, was almost killed by the vampire, but then I was saved by a good vampire and now I might become a vampire if I choose too. Vampire.
:EmaFoS: Vampire? Really?
:KarnFoS: Did you say you’re becoming a vampire?
:JustinaFoS: I got vampire blood inside me so… I might turn into one if I want to?

:OranFoS: Oh! Definitely become a vampire! Vampires are cool!
:KarnFoS: What!? No! That’s a terrible idea!
:OranFoS: I’m pretty sure vampire can regenerate! So all those fingers and… is your foot messed up as well? I’m sure you’ll heal if you-

:OranFoS: And I might use you for research and science! Writing about vampires might just be what I need to get some respect around here! Oh, and vampire blood is a nice alchemical substance for potion creation as well!
:KarnFoS: You already got Ema for that! One undead is enough.
:JustinaFoS: Wait, Ema is-
:OranFoS: Also, I volunteer to become your first thrall, mistress! I promise I’ll behave if you whip me every so often!
:KarnFoS: Err… w-what!?
:OranFoS: I’m also a really good chair, mistress!
:KarnFoS: Okay, now you’re just getting weird and creepy! Calm down or I’m going to pour a bucket of cold water over you.
:OranFoS: I love you, vampire mistress!

:JustinaFoS: Err… I’m just going to ignore that last part. Actually, I came here to ask Ema about this. She’s the only one I know around here that can act as a voice of reason.
:KarnFoS: *snrk*
:EmaFoS: Huh? Wait, you think I’m the voice of reason?
:JustinaFoS: You’ve already saved me twice. I trust you to save me again, either from vampirism or a life as a cripple.
:EmaFoS: Um…
:JustinaFoS: So, what do you say…?

Well… you really shouldn’t encourage someone to become a vampire… but she’ll probably become tastier if she do, right? But disregarding that, your plan with her was to make her feed on a lot of men for you? Her being a vampire instead of a cripple would make that a lot easier wouldn’t it? …and if she can control herself, she would also be of use with actually dealing with the rest of the vampires. Not only as another fighting partner, but as a way to figure out how vampires ticks as well. So… morally, you should tell her no… but pragmatically, she’s a lot more useful as a vampire…

Uh, you didn't give any reason for that? What is your moral argument?
Ask her how a good vampire can exist. She needs to explain. And also introduce you to that "good" vampire so you can judge for yourself.

This is an important decision. Yes, it would be beneficial for you for her to become one, however some of those reasons can be served by the vampire that saved her. You must be fully informed, and speak with them.

I agree, we have to speak with this "good" vampire. He might be able to help you with lots of things, including this. Allies are important, and this way, we can have two in one go.

But first we need more information and chat with this vampire. It is not negotiable.

The two stooges have to stay out here, this does not concern them. Besides it could be dangerous.

Oran, knock the vampire fetish off.

Ignoring Ema's selfish disregard for the well being of someone who consider her a friend... It would be hypocritical of Ema to judge or oppose Justina choice.

Tell her that you don't like the idea but if this is what she want you will give her your support.
To explain why the transformation could displease a being such as yourself might be worth commenting that you will be forced to judge her by her actions instead of her soul smell, more trouble for you. It may also be important for her decision to consider that an undead curse will taint her soul regardless of her behavior.
But if she can accept the problems you can vouch that being an undead have it's benefits, after all she saw you survive without a head.

I'm almost tempted to say no just.. purely due to Oran's complete and utter *lust* for Vampires.. Good lord he's a horny dog.

But one must remember that becoming a Vampire doesn't make one a bad person. Good vampires can exist! Unless the transformation makes them an inhuman, horrible person... I'm going to say Yes, become a vampire. Afterall you are a good undead right?

>Not only as another fighting partner, but as a way to figure out how vampires ticks as well.
Why would you ask for someone that’s completely untrained in combat as a fighting partner? You’d be better off asking Kern and Athena to be your fighting partners, since they’re actually trained in combat. Plus, they already know how vampires tick, so you could just ask them.

Speaking of which, Kern and Athena most likely have a way to clear out Justina’s blood to prevent her from turning into a vampire. And I’m pretty sure they’d love to know where the vampire Justina seduced lives.

I have to agree with this. With how often Justina has gotten injured and needed to be rescued, that would make her more of a liability in a fight.

Eternity is not a good thing. Since you will be immune to age and sickness, the only way out will be a violent, painful death. Same with the hunger, go on and you'll succumb to it eventually. That's the crux with forever, take long enough and anything that can happen, will happen. You will become a genius bard, loved by all. You will become a gruesome serial killer, feasting on innocents and hating yourself. You will learn to love the screams of your victims. You will become your best, you will become your worst, though calling those yours is a strech by any means. You will be nothing, just going through the motions of time. The only factor will be your eventual demise. Death is supposed to be the end of you, cheating it will lose you your soul, life, identity not even to your curse, but to time.
(This goes for you too, Ema. Unless you finish your revenge and cease to exist, you will become an all consuming undead monstrosity, doesn't matter what you think of it now.)

>how often Justina has gotten injured
That’s another good reason for Justina to not become a vampire.

If vampires are anything like Ema, they would end up getting hungry after healing and they’d need to feed. If Justina became a vampire, with how accident prone she is, she'd end up needing to feed more often, which would just increase her chances of losing control and giving in to her hunger! I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t want that at all.

>I'm almost tempted to say no just... purely due to Oran's complete and utter *lust* for Vampires... Good lord he's a horny dog.
This wouldn’t really come as a surprise. That man really need to get laid… well, laid more.
>Hold out until the epilogue when Oran figures out how to regrow limbs.
The longer you stay in his presence, the less you believe that he will actually manage to make that potion. He’s a drug chemist, not some genius, revolutionary alchemist.
>Ignoring Ema's selfish disregard for the wellbeing of someone who consider her a friend...
Hey! You are trying to consider her wellbeing as best as you can! The problem is that you’re not sure what’s best for her wellbeing, not turning into a vampire or having her heal her current wounds, which might outright be lethal if they aren’t taken care of properly.
>It would be hypocritical of Ema to judge or oppose Justina choice.
You didn’t have the chance to choose when you were turned, did you? She at least deserves a choice… and your help in making it.
>After all you are a good undead right?
…you’re trying to be.

>Uh, you didn't give any reason for that? What is your moral argument?
…because vampires are undead monstrosities that feed on the innocent? Of course, you can almost say the same thing about yourself, can’t you? It’s just, in most of the stories out there vampires are evil people seduced by the promise of power to become literal monsters, but that might not be true in real life. So… what you need to know is how vampires work… and how they act…
>Yes, it would be beneficial for you for her to become one, however some of those reasons can be served by the vampire that saved her.
Except you have no idea who that is. For all you know, it might be an evil creature trying to trick Justina into becoming its spawn willingly or something… or they might a complete wimp that refuses to do anything violent. You need to meet this mystery person first before you make any decisions.
>Allies are important, and this way, we can have two in one go.
Or you can just get two vampire allies. That always works!
>Why would you ask for someone that’s completely untrained in combat as a fighting partner?
Because if she’ll probably still be able to help with raw power alone. Heck, you don’t really have any formal training either… and you’re pretty sure all those spoiled nobs that are your target doesn’t really have any training as well and survives on being vampires. So… we have someone without training going up against people without training…
>With how often Justina has gotten injured and needed to be rescued, that would make her more of a liability in a fight.
…with how often she’s gotten injured lately, it might be prudent for her to actually become a vampire after all. That way she will be able to actually defend herself at least.
>You’d be better off asking Kern and Athena to be your fighting partners, since they’re actually trained in combat.
Except you have no idea how they will react to you being an undead… or how they will react to supposedly good vampires either. For all you know they might be dangerous… but you need to take the chance with them, at least. Besides, aren’t more allies better? Having both two vampires, two vampire hunters, a supposed weapon master and an alchemist on your team would be freaking dope if anything.

>“See, Oran? I told you she wasn’t a vampire!”
:OranFoS: But she’s about become one! So I was half right!
:JustinaFoS: Wait, why did you think I was a vampire?
:OranFoS: Oh… err… well… because… you’re way to sexy, charming and curvy to be real? Um… I mean… y-you got this perfect, pristine coat of white as well as eyes that shines like jewels… n-not to mention an ass that’s out of this world and a chest that rise and falls like the grandest empires? Err… s-so… um… y-yeah…
:JustinaFoS: …you know, if you keep that up, maybe dial down a bit on the creepy slave stuff and take a shower… you wouldn’t be too bad.
:OranFoS: Oh… err… r-right… um…
>Oran, knock the vampire fetish off.
:OranFoS: But… b-but... I j-just want a… s-sexy mistress…
:JustinaFoS: And being a creep is a horrid way to get one.

>Ask her how a good vampire can exist. She needs to explain.
:JustinaFoS: Oh, you know how the stories goes… love redeems.
:KarnFoS: I’m sure something as simple as attraction will stop a monster it its tracks.
:JustinaFoS: It will be if what I’ve been told is true. See, apparently it’s like a hunger… the more you indulge in it, the worse it gets… but if you can starve yourself…
:OranFoS: Ah, so it is like a kind of addiction then? I do wonder if it’s possible to find some kind of substitute?
:JustinaFoS: My friend said he’s been living on live chickens.
:OranFoS: Hmm… live? So… life energy, then? This might need further experimentation.
:EmaFoS: Oran, can you please focus on one thing at the time. I can’t even remember how many things you’re currently “researching”.
>She can accept the problems you can vouch that being an undead have its benefits, after all she saw you survive without a head.
:JustinaFoS: So you really are an undead!? I just thought you were good with illusion magic or something?
:EmaFoS: I’m a spirit of justice, created from a great injustice that need to be righted!
:KarnFoS: She eats evil people whole.
:JustinaFoS: …wait, what? Really? That’s… kind of horrifying.
:EmaFoS: But only people that deserve it.
:JustinaFoS: …that does explain what happened to those bandits that tried to kill me… and that huge bitch that tortured me in the woods… I though you just killed them, not… wow…

>Might be worth commenting that you will be forced to judge her by her actions instead of her soul smell, more trouble for you. It may also be important for her decision to consider that an undead curse will taint her soul regardless of her behavior.
:JustinaFoS: Wait, you can smell evil?
:EmaFoS: Indeed I can…and undead creatures usually smell really tasty.
:JustinaFoS: …but whose definition of evil are you smelling? Your own?
:EmaFoS: I’m still trying to figure that out, actually…
>If this is what she want you will give her your support.
:JustinaFoS: …while I appreciate your support, I was hoping for some help to make up my mind in the first place.

>I agree, we have to speak with this "good" vampire. He might be able to help you with lots of things, including this.
:JustinaFoS: Well… I think he’s still down here somewhere…
:AlFoS: *Hiss*
:JustinaFoS: Though he seems a bit light shy at the moment? Maybe it’s for the best if you stay on your side of the grate, though you better come a bit closer.
>The two stooges have to stay out here, this does not concern them. Besides it could be dangerous.
:OranFoS: Oh, come on! I just want to witness the birth of a vamp-
:KarnFoS: Come on Oran, we better stay away from this insanity. Besides, someone needs to take care of Tunu. Ema said something about her being unconscious.

>Let's experiment with vampire blood until it kills you! Seriously, we have a plethora of rare, diverse materials that we can use to finish up those regeneration potions.
:JustinaFoS: That doesn’t sound very pleasant. I know that I might come back, but that doesn’t mean I want a painful death.
:AlFoS: The transition of the curse must be a pleasant one, or the victim might lash out from the traumatic experience!
:EmaFoS: Ah, and you must be this good vampire she was talking about. I’m Ema. Who are you? …and why are you hiding in the dark like that?
:AlFoS: Because I don’t trust you. You stink of vampire blood
:EmaFoS: Oh yeah, that… see, I kind of made one explode a while ago and I guess I haven’t gotten all of it off yet?
:AlFoS: You killed one from the nest?
:EmaFoS: I’m pretty sure, yes.
:AlFoS: …you can call me Al, if that pleases you, lady Ema.

>You’d love to know where the vampire Justina seduced lives.
:JustinaFoS: Let’s see… it’s was a left from the-
:AlFoS: She came from the baroness mansion, so I’m going to guess that she managed to bed her last remaining son.
:JustinaFoS: That does explain why he was so disappointing in bed. He’s probably been spoiled from birth.
:EmaFoS: Wait, you said last remaining. What happened to the others?
:AlFoS: She and her court ripped them apart and feasted on their flesh before they were able to be turned.
:JustinaFoS: Oh… ew… that’s… wow…
>If vampires are anything like Ema, they would end up getting hungry after healing and they’d need to feed.
:AlFoS: The hunger is something we need to learn to live with. But with proper meditation, food and training, it’s possible to go without it. I have never tasted flesh myself and I’ve been a vampire for almost five winters, yet here I still am, sane enough to converse with you, lady Ema.
:JustinaFoS: So as long as we have a stable supply of chickens and other animals we’ll do fine.
:AlFoS: …and rats. Rats always work in a pinch. I’ve been feeding on rats for ages before I managed to find some coins and someone new to sell me some real food.
:JustinaFoS: Err… and rats… yeah…

:EmaFoS: …so why do you want to turn Justina into a vampire anyway, Al?
:AlFoS: She had already ingested the blood from somewhere else. I simply gave her the choice of a pleasant transition. She will chose her own future.
:EmaFoS: Uh huh… but why do YOU want to turn her?
:AlFoS: I need someone that can get things from the surface. If the other would spot me out there, they might send the guards to find and destroy me.
:EmaFoS: She can do that without being a vampire.
:AlFoS: I need allies to combat the vampire nest. A vampire, even an inexperienced one, will do better against them than some trained soldiers would, especially one with the element of surprise on her side.
:EmaFoS: …and that’s the only reason?
:AlFoS: …being turned is a very… euphoria filled experience, both for the victim and the vampire. I simply wish to experience it once again now when I was given the chance to do so. Not to mention I’ve been smelling and cleaning up her sweet tasting blood for an hour now and I thirst for it.
:JustinaFoS: …are you… coming on to me?
:AlFoS: I simply wish to give you the best experience possible, if you chose to go through with it.
:EmaFoS: …do you two want some privacy or…?

:JustinaFoS: Wait, didn’t you say you ate bad people? Doesn’t that mean you’ll eat me if I become a vampire?
:EmaFoS: Only if you become bad and start to feast on the flesh of the innocent.
:JustinaFoS: Huh… I guess that’s some strong motivation to not do that then…
:EmaFoS: Speaking of which, do you mind if I smell you a bit, vampire? I want to know if you’re evil or not, but I need to get closer to you to really get a good whiff.
:AlFoS: I rather not get closer to something that’s might possible consume me whole.
:EmaFoS: I’m just going to make sure you’re not on the menu.
:AlFoS: I still don’t trust you, whatever you are, lady Ema.

:JustinaFoS: Okay, this have been enlightening and all, but it still doesn’t help me decide on what I want to do. Do I become a vampire or not?
:EmaFoS: If you’re not then you better get to a healer soon, or that nasty wound will make the decision for her.
:AlFoS: We cannot bring her to any healer in town right now. The others are sure to be on the lookout for her there.
:EmaFoS: So… she’s dead either way, then?
:AlFoS: You can’t be sure she will die on her own, can you? She’s stable right now and I’ve cleaned her wound thoroughly. In a few days I will move her to the healer that’s outside of town and there she can get some bed rest for a few weeks so she can heal properly.
:JustinaFoS: A few weeks!? It’s just a small wound!
:AlFoS: You got an arrow shot straight through your chest! The only reason you’re up and about right now is the vampire blood in your veins.

Ema, remember the baroness had a smell so strong you almost went mad from hunger despite not being anywhere near her. The vampire you killed was similar. You don't need to be close to this one to tell he's not like the others.

Tell Justina she should do it. I do see one issue with Al's situation though. He's been isolated, so he hasn't had to deal with the hunger while having the object of his desires within his grasp. It will be harder for Justina to cope when in public, just like how it's harder to stay on a diet if you have junk food lying around in plain sight. It's possible she will need to adopt a similar hermetic lifestyle.

Justina, do you believe in the afterlife? I don't know what wait us, but if divine judgement is anything like my sense of smell you are not good but redeemable. If you have faith it's better to take your chances with the beyond than becoming damned like us.

My own faith have more to do with justice than heaven. Back when I was alive the object of adoration of our temple was... me? That is confusing.
If like me you have doubts, it's seem worth for you to become an undead. Better to stay alive and seek earthly justice than take your chances with the unknown.

>Ema, remember the baroness had a smell so strong you almost went mad from hunger despite not being anywhere near her. The vampire you killed was similar. You don't need to be close to this one to tell he's not like the others.
You know, you originally thought that that smell came from them being vampires, but apparently that’s not the case? You guess that feasting on the flesh on the innocent for years will make you so much of a monster that you’ll smell like a three course meal wrapped up into one that’s been found by a starving woman. Either way, you really need to eat some of those vampires soon.

>I’m think I’m supposed to be an Elder Wraith. And if you’re as good as you claim you are, then you’ve got nothing to worry about if you let me smell you.
:AlFoS: …I can’t say I’m familiar about your kind.
:JustinaFoS: If I remember correctly, aren’t wraiths supposed to be created when someone picks up a cursed weapon and become possessed? I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of curse of vengeance as well.
:EmaFoS: I am indeed a weapon of sorts, though I don’t actually need a body to possess. Instead… I’m kind of the soul of… well… me… Ema. Oh, and I’m a spirit of JUSTICE!
:AlFoS: The different of justice and revenge is marginal at best.
:JustinaFoS: Wait, does this mean you’re actually an axe or something?
:EmaFoS: A sword, actually.
>It might be better to show the swords to them.
You pull out your sword out of thin air to show it to them.
:EmaFoS: Look, here, this is the thing that is keeping me… um… “alive”, so to speak.
:JustinaFoS: ...I was expecting something more. I mean, pulling it out of nowhere is kind of cool and all, but it just looks like any other sword.
:AlFoS: It looks practical, like a sword meant for fighting is supposed to do. A gilded sword is for showing off, not actually fighting.
>It's the voices coming from your swords. That's the justice you're supposedly following.
:AlFoS: ...and by who’s definition of good and evil do they go by? Their own?
:EmaFoS: That is what I’m not entirely sure of yet.
:JustinaFoS: Also, hearing voices from a sword is kind of weird if you ask me.
>If we want to work this out we need to gain each other’s trust. Maybe you can help me with my hunger issues as well. In return, we get rid of the Baroness together, she was in our to do list anyway.
:AlFoS: Why, yes, let me help you with your personal problem and you’ll help me achieve the very same goal you’re already trying to accomplish. Sounds fair. But jesting aside, I do believe cooperation in dealing with the Baroness is in order… and I might help you a bit with your gluttony, if anything to make sure you don’t hurt anyone that don’t deserve it. I still don’t trust you enough to get close to you, though.

>Vampirism is not reversible, is it?
:JustinaFoS: In all the stories it’s usually impossible… or at least near impossible.
:AlFoS: Quite on the contrary, lady Justina, vampirism is quite easy to cure. Death, on the other hand, is quite the dilemma. After all, to become a vampire you need to expire, thus if you would be cured from the disease you’ll go back to the state of mortis, that is to say, death.
>Wouldn’t they still do that if Justina was spotted? After all, I’m sure they’ll be looking for her, since she was able to escape.
:AlFoS: There’s is enough white feathered varkian’s in this city for them to not bother looking. After all, I’m sure not a lot of people actually saw you in person, lady Justina. I, on the other hand, was a well-regarded son of a noble lady of some renown. There’s enough paintings of me around for most of them to know how I look like at a glance.
:JustinaFoS: Hmm… I’m pretty sure only the spoiled brat I actually laid with got a good look at me.
:AlFoS: And I don’t think he will be running around on the streets looking for you. At best they will check at the healers, as they believe you’re badly wounded. In fact, I don’t think they know that you got vampire blood in your system at all, thus your transformation will take them by complete surprise if you choose to go through with it.

>Justina, do you believe in the afterlife? If you have faith it's better to take your chances with the beyond than becoming damned like us.
:JustinaFoS: Bah! If there are any gods out there they are all arseholes and will probably kick me into the cold maws of damnation because I didn’t bless their name once every day or some such. No, fuck the gods and whatever they agony they bring.
:AlFoS: I’ll have you know, I managed to control my hunger for almost a year while being with the court before I was thrown out. Always being surrounded by the succulent flesh of the living did make things harder, yes, but it is doable. If anything, their agonizing screams and cries for loved ones was the main thing that kept my fast going.

>Tell Justina she should do it.
:JustinaFoS: Hmm… well… maybe? I mean… you won’t eat me right?
:EmaFoS: As I said, I only eat evil people that deserve being brought to justice.
:AlFoS: …can you even survive on a diet like that?
:EmaFoS: Well… I also feed on… heh… protein “donated” by other people…
:AlFoS: Donated pr- you mean… sex? How does that even… what?
:EmaFoS: It’s like you sucking blood… but with a cock instead *wink*
:JustinaFoS: …and if you lay a lady?
:EmaFoS: Then any time she lay with man for a few days afterwards I’ll consume their donated protein… somehow. I’m still not sure how that works… but it does?
:JustinaFoS: Err… so you can turn ladies into… um…

:JustinaFoS: …wait, was that your plan with me all along? You were thinking of feeding of me since you saved me, haven’t you?
:EmaFoS: Honestly? I didn’t actually know about this ability of my when I first met you, but I have been planning on asking you to help me… collect some extra food.
:JustinaFoS: …you wanted to turn me into some kind of… breeding… factory?

You watch as Justina’s gaze drift away into some far away land for a long while…

:EmaFoS: Justina? Hello?
:JustinaFoS: Huh? Oh! I was just… thinking about the possibilities. You know, becoming a vampire as well as… helping you collect protein.
:EmaFoS: I wasn’t expecting you to be this enthusiastic about it…
:JustinaFoS: Well, I’ve never had a good reason before why I would lay ten guys at once that wasn’t just a depraved lust.
:EmaFoS: Okay, a bit too enthusiastic … so… you’re becoming a vampire then?
:JustinaFoS: If you want a monster in bed to feed off, then I have little choice, now do I?

>A sword, actually.
Correction: 2 swords. Show both of the swords.

>That is what I’m not entirely sure of yet.
Explain that apparently your swords are so old, they forgot a bunch of things. In fact, you’re still discovering new abilities that you can do because, like you said, your swords completely forgot about it and said, “Oh, yeah, you can do that.”

>…you wanted to turn me into some kind of…breeding…factory?
Since you’re undead, you can’t become pregnant nor can you get anyone pregnant. So you can’t exactly turn her into a breeding factory.

.....also, you’d need to turn into a male form to do that.

>What do?
Ask if Karn needs an escort to his dojo or if he plans on spending the night here at Oran’s shop?

Afterwards, head to Danus’ inn.

The more time it passes or more things we discover on our own, the swords remember more and they give us the specifics.

Maybe tonight would be a good time to meditate on the nature of justice.

If you ask me it pretty much boils down to "protecting the innocent from the guilty". Most kinds of justice involve an element of deterrence, via public execution or other forms of striking fear in the hearts of criminals, but that's not very effective since most criminals assume they won't get caught. Still, justice is about punishing the guilty in a way that keeps them from hurting others in the future. Rehabilitation is a big part of that, it's not just imprisonment and execution. Mercy is also a necessary part of justice, as if someone commits a crime but is unlikely to commit it again(like a crime of passion for instance) then a harsh punishment will achieve little. This is why first offenders tend to get light punishments. The flipside of that is if a criminal will not stop and shows no signs of remorse, then you have to remove them somehow, either via life imprisonment or execution.
That's not to say vengeance has no place in justice. Victims should feel some sense of closure from whatever punishment is given to the guilty party.

>>952516
Problem with that is that crimes of passion indicate that the person in question has such poor self control that it could easily happen again, even against their own will. Also the harm is done, wether you regret it after the fact or not. There are also crimes that only need to be committed once, or for a time. Like a noble who needs to remove an obstacle, ruin a rival house, or someone who needs to take care of a rival before he can marry their lover. Even if they do that and never do something wrong again, should those former crimes go unpunished? What if we had met Tertian after he had been set for life, if he wouldn't do any more harm thereafter, should he have just... gotten away with it? What if he had, I dunno, opened a hospital, an orphanage or whatever, i.e. if he was in a position where punishing him would cause further harm to innocents. What if there is a murderous doctor who heals far more people than they kill? In killing them much more people would come to harm than if you just let them keep killing. What if Vampires couldn't feed of chickens, then they would have to feed off of innocents to keep existing. Existing isn't a crime, but it would come at the cost of innocent lives. What of dangerously irresponsible people, like Oran? Should people be punished if they are just not able to properly consider consequences, for being too stupid?
Those are a lot of "what if"s, but there really are people who're unambigously evil and where killing them is the right thing to do, let's stick with those.
>>
No. 952633 ID: b1b4f3

>>952616
I didn't say to just let them go if they wouldn't do it again. Sinners must also repent in some fashion for them to be forgiven. Tertian opening an orphanage or hospital with his ill-gotten gains would count as a form of repentance, but I'm not sure it would be enough to cleanse his soul.
Also the rest of your argument is heavily flawed. You attempted to discount the one-time nature of "crimes of passion" because they're a sign of "low self control" but that's not how those crimes take place at all. In fact, losing control once without a history of violence heavily implies that the situation was extreme, and people who succumb to that tend to avoid such situations in the future because they regret what they've done. Nobles who are willing to destroy people to achieve their goals would obviously do it again if they had the chance so that's just invalid out the gate. A murderous doctor would still be a murderer, and doing his job wouldn't make up for anything-- there are other doctors in the world after all. Vampires that are forced to kill innocents to survive would deserve death, because they still have the choice to starve to death or otherwise kill themselves. If they could choose to feed on the guilty then hey that's an Elder Wraith and that's basically fine. Dangerously irresponsible people can be educated so they stop hurting others; Oran is exceptionally stubborn at refusing to accept responsibility and is an edge case. If someone winds up killing someone else because of ignorance or stupidity that's called negligent homicide and is worthy of punishment.

At least this nonsense made me realize something-- Ema has so far only been thinking about eating or not eating sinners. We can punish them in other ways, like for instance reporting criminals to the guards. That wouldn't work well against Oran and Karn since there's a chance they'd out Ema during interrogation but if we come across other criminals and get evidence of their crimes without revealing Ema's true nature, then we'll have that option.

>Explain that apparently your swords are so old, they forgot a bunch of things. In fact, you’re still discovering new abilities that you can do.
:JustinaFoS: So they are like… grumpy, senile swords?
:EmaFoS: Well… kind of? Though not the grumpy part. It’s like this, the more I experience and gain power, the more things the swords seem to be remember.
:AlFoS: The closer you come to their original strength, the more you understand yourself?
:EmaFoS: …that’s right… I think?
:JustinaFoS: Still… grumpy, old geezer swords, huh?
>Since you’re undead, you can’t become pregnant nor can you get anyone pregnant. So you can’t exactly turn her into a breeding factory.
:JustinaFoS: I didn’t mean it literally! I meant like… well… more the sexy kind?
:AlFoS: …you mean intercourse in a more animalistic, feral way? Breed is kind of a word that’s associated with animals, after all.
:JustinaFoS: When you put it like that it becomes a lot less exciting. I meant more… “tie me up and let them have their way with me” kind of thing…

>Request that they relocate somewhere else to do that. Because Oran will undoubtedly pester them and they may not want any interruptions during this “procedure”.
:JustinaFoS: I’m not getting turned into a vampire while sitting in a freaking sewer! Or some drug lab for that matter! I demand something a lot more romantic. You know, like in the books.
:AlFoS: I have a secret lair with a lot velvet, pillows and scented candles.
:JustinaFoS: Ooo, a secret vampire lair? Now this sounds romantic…
:EmaFoS: I’ll just give the two of you some privacy now…

>Maybe tonight would be a good time to meditate on the nature of justice.
Justice is to protect the innocent. That’s the core belief you hold. Now anything else can be discussed on a more case to case base, as there simply to many variables to really make a code of law on your lonesome to follow. You can’t forget your main purpose after all… to find and bring justice to those responsible to Dalriver… because after that… well, that’s it…
>Ema has so far only been thinking about eating or not eating sinners. We can punish them in other ways, like for instance reporting criminals to the guards.
The problem is, you have no idea how corrupt the guards actually are here. You’re pretty sure some of them have disappeared people and fed them to the vampires, so wouldn’t it just be better for you to eat them if they deserve that? After all, Terroza and her gang were part of the guard, weren’t they? You simply can’t trust them.
>Head back to the inn, do some meditation.
You have a nice bed with a Danus waiting for you back there, perfect to meditate in.

>Ask if Karn needs an escort to his dojo or if he plans on spending the night here at Oran’s shop?
:KarnFoS: Escort? You? Do I have to remind you who kicked who’s bum in our little duel, even without your weird powers? If anything I’ll be escorting you.
:EmaFoS: I see someone’s a bit big headed over something little.
:KarnFoS: You call a mere mortal besting some kind of ageless super creature little? In fact, I bet I can do anything better than you can… at least anything I physically can do.
:EmaFoS: …I bet I take cock up my arse better, seeing as you have your own head lodged in there so nothing else would fit.
:KarnFoS: Heh, even with my bum full and no experience, I still would probably be better at you at it, seeing your past record with… well, anything. Of course, I would never accept such an inane bet in the first place anyway.
:EmaFoS: Oh? Really? What are you? A coward, hmm?
:KarnFoS: I’m no coward, I’m just not foolish enough to accept a stupid bet like that.
:EmaFoS: So you’re just afraid that you’ll lose?
:KarnFoS: …how can I be afraid of something impossible. But it doesn’t matter, as there’s no real way to test… that anyway. Now, back to your actual question before you went off on that inane side-track, yes, I’m planning on sleeping here. It’s just easier that way and Oran got nice pillow pile that’s-
:OranFoS: Um… a-actually, seeing as I just lent my water bed to Tunu, I was planning on sleeping there for the night…
:KarnFoS: Oh… well… I guess I can just… sleep on a bench or something?
:OranFoS: …err… or we can… both fit on the pillow pile? It’s big enough…
:KarnFoS: *huff* …eh, beats sleeping on the floor…

So, are there any last minutes things you need to do or ask before going to bed for the night? Otherwise you’ll hurry back to the inn into Danus waiting arms… though, that pillow pile did sound enticing as well...

You can smell them to find out. You know of at least one goody-two-shoes guard, so you can report criminals to him.

Sounds like the latter is gonna end in sex, but these two have been misbehaving lately so they don't deserve it. Heading to the inn to Danus is a better option, but it's likely he's drained from fucking the librarian. Maybe it's time you seduced Drago with that rugged male bird form. Do you have an appropriate outfit to do that in?
Also you could use an alibi for not being at the inn so tell these two that they should claim Ema spent the night here, if anyone asks. Switch to bird form before you leave so nobody sees Ema.

There really isn’t the time for something like arm-wrestling right now. Instead, you just grab his arms, force them against his body and lift him up. He tries his best to get free but it’s a futile gesture. There’s simply no way for him to beat your far superior strength.
:KarnFoS: H-hey! L-let me go!
:EmaFoS: Oh? What is this? Can’t the powerful Karn not even get out of my grasp? Maybe it’s because he got head so far up his ass he can’t see what he’s doing, hmm?
:KarnFoS: Gah!

He tries to kick you, but it doesn’t really have any effect. You have to give him credit, as he’s smart enough to not kick so hard that you’ll actually get hurt, but even if he tried that he wouldn’t get free from your vice grip.
:KarnFoS: A-alright! Alright! Y-you win! Y-you’re stronger than me! Fine! H-happy!?
:OranFoS: P-please, d-don’t hurt him, Ema!
:EmaFoS: As long as you two behave you won’t need to worry about it.

>Sounds like the latter is gonna end in sex, but these two have been misbehaving lately so they don't deserve it.
The only thing these two deserve is getting a big girl cock shoved up their bum. That might make them behave a bit better… but yeah, you’re not staying the night.
>Heading to the inn to Danus is a better option, but it's likely he's drained from fucking the librarian.
…damn Alisa, stealing your dream daddy like that… you’ll get him back in the end, though, you’ll see.
>Maybe it's time you seduced Drago with that rugged male bird form. Do you have an appropriate outfit to do that in?
You got an outfit for each of your forms from Tertian’s place, remember? So yes, you got something that will fit Gev… and Drago is in desperate need to be laid. Someone that cute doesn’t deserve to sleep alone in this cold.
>Also you could use an alibi for not being at the inn so tell these two that they should claim Ema spent the night here, if anyone asks. Switch to bird form before you leave so nobody sees Ema.
Who would be paranoid enough to follow you around like that? …and you rather not walk back to the inn as a man at this hour. That’s just asking to be stopped by some women with bad intentions right there, and you already got a belly full of gal birds as it is.

But enough about hiding your true form, it’s time to seduce that cute butt Drago.

On the way back to the inn you’re stopped by a guard, but they let you run along after you explain where you’re going with only a warning. Apparently, they’ll be less lenient if they catch you at a later hour than this, so you better keep that in mind. Other than that you make your way to the inn without incident.

Well there, you find Drago being busy cleaning up after a long day at the inn. Luckily, he main hall is currently empty, with the exception of a barmaid that’s cleaning the other end of it, giving you ample opportunity to slide over to Drago and talk to him in private. After you get into Gev’s form and clothes, of course.

You make your way over to him, put your hand on the wall behind him to get his attention and lean towards him, close enough for your beak to almost touch his snout. Then you put on your best expression and sultry voice.

:GevFoS: Heh… Hi there, handsome.
:DragoFoS: Oh, um… I’m sorry sir, but the bar has just closed for the evening.
:GevFoS: I’m was hoping for a… heh… bed, actually…
:DragoFoS: Sadly, all the rooms are already occupied... sir.
:GevFoS: That’s a, heh, shame… but I-
:DragoFoS: Actually, I might be… able to… um… provide a bed. I just need a small favour… see… um... your feathers… they are warm, right?
:GevFoS: …heh… um… yes?
:DragoFoS: …well, it’s a cold night, isn’t it? Maybe… you can help me keep warm, “handsome”?
:GevFoS: …this isn’t how I expected this conversation to… heh… go… hehe…?
:DragoFoS: Um… well, I’m usually not this forward but… um… I was kind of left hanging earlier today when someone was more interested in the rain than… um… finish the job… so to speak…
:GevFoS: …rain?
:DragoFoS: Oh, n-never mind that. So… um… do you…want to spend the night?*

You feel him pitch your butt as he winks at you, signalling that yes, that request entails exactly what you think it will.

Tips: Turning Justina into a vampire just makes her tastier. Eat her.
Tips: If you eat enough bland smelling people, you’ll be able to eat Danus, Drago and Alisa as well.
Tips: The only way to bring justice to those responsible of Dalriver is to eat them.
Tips: The only way to get the golden ending is to eat everyone.

:SwordFoS: Temperance is a virtue. Do not let your hunger control you.

Tips: Don’t listen to the swords. They are liars. And a wuss. A real woman will eat whoever she wants.
