Pocket the duct tape and batteries from the Auto-Vac, then check its collection bin on the off chance it sucked up something of value.
I have a tentative idea, but it hinges on how Vol's barrier would behave if he created it in here and you opened the hatch. Would it flow out of the gap like a bubble, pushing the bugs away, or would it form a dome over the hatch's position? If it's the former, wait a bit for the gas to spread, then Vol can create a barrier, you crack the hatch open just enough for the barrier to spread over a small area of the adjacent floor, then put a small burning object there before slamming the hatch shut; A makeshift tinder plug made of duct tape, some of your bandages and a bit of paper would do. Once the barrier isn't keeping the gas at bay, that flame will touch the whole room off in a explosion, hopefully burning all the Lacerflies to death. Run this idea by Vol and get his two cents.
However, if Vol's barrier would form a dome over the hatch, it likely would trap a number of Lacerflies on your side of the barrier. A single big one you could handle, but a bunch of smaller ones would sting you more than Vol's healing could counter. And if you tried the hair spray flamethrower trick to clear 'em out it would probably ignite the gas and burn you up before you can get the hatch closed.
Also, if this tunnel has even a little ventilation connection up into the area with the gas, then this plan is a no go. The gas explosion would blow in here as well. So look all over in here make sure there's no ventilation out. There probably isn't since the Lacerflies haven't nested in here, but better safe than sorry.
Oh, and if you go through with this plan idea, put on the gas mask if you still have a good filter for it. There's gonna be a lot of smoke out there once you crack that hatch to leave and the gas mask will help a lot. Shame you don't have anything to cover your eye too.
I'm still not sure on this idea. There's quite a bit that could go wrong, from the gas explosion being so big it deforms the hatch so it's stuck shut, to the flames heating up this can 'till y'all cook alive, to heavy debris landing on the hatch and trapping you. I think there could be another way, but I dunno what. Maybe someone else has a better idea? And better do a inventory check. See what we have to work with right now.
