Maybe we should just go ahead and explain where we're from, fully. I don't think we ever told anyone the whole "I woke up in a box" story.

Mudy squints his eyes as he desperately tries to conjure up any kind of memory.
>"The thing is, I don't remember anything before waking up in this box with two lights, green and red... you hid Latral, right? How?"
, he asks.

Raital seems taken aback by the statement. She opens and closes her mouth to speak but chokes on her words each time.
>"I.. I hid Latral in one of the boxes in the arcana storage room..
, she finally says.
>"But.. I don't remember any details. Everything is a blank from that time.

Mudy ponders the possibilities.
>"Was the Skullking originally a boldling?"

Raital holds her breath.
>"Y.. Yes.. Mother used to be a boldling."

Fun fact - looking at the Volume 2 poster (found here: http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questarch/src/124732497168.png ) shows that we've probably found all the Blutjaegers that matter for the moment. Still rather concerned about when three-sword psycho samurai dude is going to show up, though.

>"Wh-What was Latral?"
, Mudy stammers.
>"Do you remember what your brother used to look like?"

>"N-no.."
Raital squeezes Mudy tightly. He can feel her shaking.
>"I.. Here's there in my memory.. but it's all a blur. I.. I don't remember him."

Mudy clenches hit teeth.
>"This is too much, Raital. Is there some way we could find out if I'm Latral for sure?"

Raital loosens her grip on Mudy, but keeps him against her.
>"I don't know."
She pauses.
>"I heard about the Wells of Truth here in the Forest of Dread.. but.. somehow I feel that in the end it's up to you to."

"Let's go."

Even if we don't want to know.
Even if it doesn't really matter.
It's the sort of thing that will bug us, isn't it? Forever and ever, because we'll never really know.

"No matter what happens, I'll love you, Raital. I wouldn't mind being your brother. And if I'm not, I'll still love you as myself. Not because I'm you're brother, or a bard. But because you're you."

I'm probably the last to realize this (slowpoke.jpg, etc), but if we are Latral, then our story about being a prince trying to reclaim his lost land, is.. kinda true actually.

Neat.

So lets see....
We got the collar removed/broken/damaged, Raitel is free of the sword and back with us, we escaped the Blutjaegers, and are in the process of hooking back up with our crew.

This makes our recent string of shit luck completely worth it.

WHO IS RAITEL DAMMIT
>>

>>8419
....Of course our luck is influenced by Reaver. He is the one who actually chooses what the ramifications of our choices are, as well as choosing which suggestions to implement. So, you could argue that Reaver is the god of luck/fate for Mudy Quest, so far as our viewpoint as readers/sometime manipulators goes.

Still, I stand by my claim that things went much more in Mudy's favor today, as opposed to other recent chapters. Which I think is good, since Mudy's luck (however you want to interpret said luck) has been fairly bad recently.

tl;dr Hooray, things look reasonably better!

Ok yes, I misspell Raital's name quite a bit. Somewhere along the way I got used to spelling it Raitel, and I spell it that way unless I consciously choose to spell it otherwise.
