you should look in the well first if possible.

anyway are you hallucinating or is that a dust cloud at the horizon ... the tiny thing under the sun ...

Hmm, it does look like something shiny. Definitely not a dust cloud from a vehicle. If it was something like that I'd be able to hear it anyway, especially 'cause we're downwind. I can't sleep anyway, even if I tried. I have no light source so the well is probably a bad idea right now. if nothing else it's something shiny I can prop up to shine some light down there. I'll gather up the bold and head there.

Can you see the bottom of the well now that it's bright? Is it all water or is there something else down there? Could be worth a look, in any case.

There's no way to see down the well, it's pretty deep and pitch dark. The sun doesn't exactly shine straight down it, especially not this early in the morning. I'll gag up the 'bold and haul him with me. I've got the water refilled but I'm not really thirsty.

The little snot's name is Klalmer apparently. I guess I could hit him less and see if that improves his demeanor.

Shimmying might work, but honestly I don't know why we want to drop down into an underground river. With no way of getting back up and no way of knowing how far it travels until we come across something more than just riverbanks?

Well, to be honest there might be stuff to eat down there and you'd always have access to water. Plus it's not as fucking hot down there. You have a large quantity of bullets for your rifle, so you could survive for quite some time hunting wildlife. On the other hand, there could be trolls or packs of hostile creatures... Do you think you could survive an underground adventure? How fast is the river moving anyway?

You could just leave Klalmer in the desert, telling him that he can travel on his own to the town. Leave him his canteen of course. You'll be fine with one canteen while traveling next to a river.

The other option is to follow Klalmer across the desert to a town that may or may not be under Kobold control.

Back to my idea of fitting it with a makeshift nose-ring, useful both for control and punishment. Should be easy enough to do with your first aid kit and some wire from the shiny pod. Don't forget all the people merciless slaughtered by the bold-things.

And serious, forget about the well already. Head for the town to get violently drunk. You like being violently drunk, right?
