75625 No. 75625 ID: 754774

"Can you stop typing and maybe just ask us for a status check?"

"Not even listening. Yeah, okay. Policegirl, do you have any weapons or anything?"

"I...I'm a spy, actually. Spies are usually just people who do a lot of paperwork and get employed in enemy territory."

11 sighs, eager to continue moving and not pleased with the hold-up. #2 clears his throat.

"Why are we not getting the hell out of here?"

"This is the stairway that leads down to the basement floor, where Captain last left Three and Ten."

"Whore is probably dead."

"Oh...Oh! 'Captain', have you checked your received files folder? I always forget to look in there when I lose things, and they always somehow get in there. I save everything to desktop so it's a bit perplexing, but there might be something you could have skimmed over?"

"You know, I could tell you what they were doing before the whole escape thing."

"Yes, Eleven, but you only know how they were testing you and what your privileges were. Anyways, the device, a laptop, I assume, should belong to someone employed here, and there should be a status report."

...Well, you might be waiting there a while. Why not.

Hailey frowns unpleasantly. No.11 looks up.
"Why was he talking to it?"
"Well...I'm not sure."
"Sir isn't something I've heard before, But it could be Hartman himself, since the text gave the impression of Sir being someone of high stature."

Why so emo, gradient hair?
No. 75668 ID: c08a78

Let us check on the progress of 10 and 3. Once they are here we can continue.

You pop in a CD. It's eerily quiet down there, and they could use some uplifting music.

"...Is that Taylor Swift?"

This is probably the first time you've ever seen No.11 genuinely happy.
No. 75677 ID: 12f282

Tell 11 Taylor Swift hosted SNL and he missed it.
Put on your coolface.
No. 75678 ID: c08a78

No.11 showing such pure emotions is actually kind of unsettling.

No.11 has been tamed!

Meanwhile, No.3 and No.10 have successfully returned and dismantled the strange portal-making device.
No. 75685 ID: c08a78

No. 75691 ID: 12f282

No. 75942 ID: 754774
File 125799966148.png - (86.07KB , 640x480 , 15.png )

You find now would be a good time to tell everyone about No.10 being less of a psychopath and more of just generally a nice person who is kind of creepy-obsessive crazy.

#2 doesn't take it well.
No. 75945 ID: c08a78

Ask 10 if he can tell us why he attacked 2.
No. 75950 ID: 12f282

Look, the bottom line is, I don't care if you two don't get along or not - you're both going to get out of here. Whatever you want to do to each other once we get out is none of my business, but you're staying alive until we get out, capisci?
No. 75962 ID: 754774
File 125800140850.png - (84.61KB , 640x480 , 16.png )

You ask No.10 the main point of argument before #2 can recover enough to call bullshit. He makes a small movement to his mouth, probably pulling off the funky growth.

"...He's a project observing the nervous system and a tool to observe the experiment's behavior closely."

You give a silence of 'please continue'.

"...He's using Dr. Hartman to get him out of here by spying on everyone...I, uh...trying to seriously harm him like that is kind of hard for me..."
His voice is getting shaky.

"It was another male experiment, I think. He, uh, said that he-- er...Wa- That he wanted to get something for him-- and then there was someone else, the male experiment, and I think Dr. Hartman sent him..."

He lets out a shaky breath.

"He's not a bad person. Just a selfish one."

Light is above. They're almost there.

If #2 acknowledged this, he doesn't say.

The next room is yet another gaping maw of darkness.

"That's the tower for the main base of IADA," Hailey explains. "If he was speaking to it and knew where we were, I'm assuming Professor Alexander is in there with 5."
"What is with this place and dangerous-looking paths?" No.11's voice is notably less bitter.
"Not enough budget for flooring. It'll take an earthquake to dislodge these, don't worry."
"More about the lack of railing."

There is a short silence.

"Down that way?"

Another pause.

"Well, I'm sure he's a pretty okay guy and you're in zero danger, but I have this creeping feeling the facility is going to explode in a very satisfying way. I'm willing to go ahead and start up the helicopter that should be there and wait for you."
"You watch too many action movies, I think."
"I could also fly out and get help if there is a notable lack of helicopter."
"...I'm rather positive there's a series of trucks outside. If you can get keys, you're free to drive off by yourself."

The silence is very awkward.
No. 81310 ID: 0ce62a

Tell everyone we must bring 5 with us. If anyone doesn't want to help us save 5, they can go with Hailey to the Helicopter. And 4 must go with Hailey.

No.11, Hailey, No.4, and No.3 take the off-camera path you assume is yet another hallway due to lack of door sounds and a notable echo.

No.1, No.11, and #2 remain.

They continue into the t-
"Where the hell did you get a gun!?"
"Stole it from Birdy. He has two."
"You better not use that."
"I don't know how. You can have it, if you want, I just thought it was neat."
No. 81315 ID: 0ce62a

Let 2 handle the guns. And thank everyone even though they don't have to do this.
No. 81318 ID: c5f90c

Since #2 is unarmed and didn't tackle No.10 off the edge when he could, the weapon is passed on to him. You also thank them.

It's better to check ahead first. There's a camera for the room, thankfully.

What seem to be supercomputers, and a screen. Fairly nondescript, like most areas in the Facility.

"Having fun? Good god."

Alexander runs after the flying 5 on the office chair and proceeds to fanboy over her.

"Aw, you're so sweet, yes you are, baby, you are the sweetest little girl in the whole world! You want to go again?"

The door opens with a click. #2 clears his throat.

No. 81336 ID: 0ce62a

Tell them to say that we are here to ask him some questions.
No. 81362 ID: 754774
File 12591252339.png - (110.05KB , 640x480 , 24.png )

"Though I can't say that I didn't expect you, I also can't say I'm particularly pleased about it. I was also hoping the woman would be here."
"We're here to ask some questions. Also, I have a gun."
"Nice. I hope you are not jittery enough with it to correct your arm angle."
"You're fully aware of how I can be."
"Yes, I've been to your rather effective Conditioning Sessions. So? What do you want to ask?"

A short silence. It occurs to you that they might not actually have any questions they want answered. It is broken, however, by No.1.

"So, portal thingies!"
"Generated by crystals. They're safe, and flicker once and a while. If they spread past five meters they'll close, once again, safely. It leads to either another dimension or a planet far away. We aren't exactly sure."
No. 81363 ID: 0ce62a

So why would taking 5 outside be a bad thing? I mean, spending time with you hasn't changed her, but a few hours with us she changed completely. Another thing is how you're treating her. It seems to be bring out more emotions than what we were doing. Also, you really cannot stay in this place forever can you? Do you have any plans? I say this out of concern.
No. 81364 ID: c5f90c

Where are you going to take Five?

Are you just going to keep her in this place for the rest of her life?
No. 81366 ID: 754774
File 125912671857.png - (109.65KB , 640x480 , 25.png )

"I see you like her quite a lot. Legally, despite the fact all of this is extremely illegal, I'm her parent. Of course I'm not going to stay in this tomb. I'm actually waiting on...Hm."

He cuts himself off suddenly, eyes flicking in the direction of where he was before.

"Like I said, anyways, you're free to leave. I actually shouldn't be long either. No.3, No.1, and No.8 have already been treated for the bacteria on Earth, though they'll initially have the immune system of a leukemia patient for the first two months."

He's avoiding the subject. With good information, but still avoiding the subject.
No. 81367 ID: 0ce62a

So you're going to leave Iada alone here? Even if you know how it feels about you?
No. 81369 ID: 754774
File 12591277703.png - (111.73KB , 640x480 , 26.png )

He lets out a low chuckle.

"Ahaaa. Didn't expect you to know anything about that... IADA is a surveillance network and defense system, as you should know by now, with that woman with you. It needs...Rather constant watch, as the experimentation make the patients rather dangerous. A few men could make a mistake or decide to rebel. They could accidentally hit the wrong switch, or spill coffee. They could become attached to the patients. 'Sir', as I've grown fond of calling him, had decided a much cheaper and safer alternative."

There's a bitter edge to his smile, with an unspoken hatred tinging his expression.

"Do you understand why exactly it is that the image is of a man?"
No. 81370 ID: 0ce62a

What do you mean by cheaper and safer alternative?
No. 81374 ID: 754774
File 125912952123.png - (180.90KB , 640x480 , 27.png )

"He means I utilized my expertise in technology and altering the body to integrate a live human into the system. Quite a mistake, looking back on it, to leave the body for access instead of uploading a compliant and hardwired brain."
The voice is rough, clear, and irritatingly off camera. #2 and Alexander do not react kindly.
"You backstabbing son of a bitch!"
"You're a bit too full of emotion to do what I ask. It's unfortunate that you could not be of more use. You're so bright. And it is also unfortunate that my more compliant subject has mistakenly escaped with the other half of your little...entourage, but I've gathered enough information. It's a pity you had to cause such chaos and usurped the cell I needed, Sterling."
"I enjoyed your work, but you've gone from experimenting on orphans in exchange for board, which is dubious in morality in itself, to experimenting on your own personal guinea pigs. Clearly I had to do something."
"Clearly. I see you've dismantled Mr.Ruiz from IADA already."
"You always told me I had a talent."
"For family more than medical science, I see."

This situation is as full of electricity as a live wire.

"Sven, I'll excuse your involvement for a sudden existence of morals, of course."

It's very uncomfortable.
No. 81375 ID: 0ce62a

File 125913155615.png - (125.79KB , 640x480 , 28.png )

This is distressing news!

The only one willing to speak is #2, who is too pissed to relay your inquiries.

The others seem to be in an elevator. No.4 looks a bit under the weather.
No. 81379 ID: 0ce62a

4, do you mind explaining your relationship to Hartman? We know that something is up, so tell us.

"...I'm just supposed to slow everyone down..."

Her-- or rather, his-- voice was a thick and wavering whimper.

"I just wanted out, and I thought if I pretended to be one of the escaping, I could leave and...I thought everyone could, but she stopped moving and I didn't even check because I had to go... I just had to go and I locked the door and then she'll die anyways-- ugh..."

What you had perceived as illness seems to be an insanity of guilt. He looks like he honestly wasn't expecting to kill anyone.

You are unsure someone as obsessively loyal and tenacious as No.4 would be downed by something that was quick enough to switch unnoticed without a spot of blood, but being locked in a room might be a problem.
No. 81390 ID: 0ce62a

We can still save her! Tell, us where did you lock her?!

"The storage room...That one you blocked."

He seems to be talking to No.11, referring to his fit before the room where they met Professor Alexander.

The elevator reaches the top with a loud thud, and the three leave without a word. No.8 stands, uncertain, before following.

You return to IADA's tower.

"You know, Sir, I never did trust your judgment. You always said #2 was worthless without the female's capacity for the parasites, and that he was unintelligent because of his gender, but I think he's even better than them."

"I love how moronic that man was with the experiments."

#2 screams something unintelligible. There are repeating sounds of tearing flesh, possibly organs being removed.
No. 81397 ID: 0ce62a

2, Calm down! What did you do, Alexander?

"So, remember when we talked about Conditioning? Little second experiment has a couple of sisters, who are rather rude, and Sir decided it would be a brilliant idea to make him flip out whenever someone suggests he's inferior because of his gender."

#2 lets out a shriek before calming into heavy breaths.

"It's awesome."
"Don't do that!" No.10 finally manages to choke out.
"Yeah, just because he flipped out at you doesn't mean I can't save our damn lives, stalky. It won't be too hard to reverse it, with all the experiences he's had."
"He could seriously hurt someone!"
"Everyone can. He's just a bit more likely to."
"How does that...but..."
"Be useful and pick up my friend over there, we're in a rush and can't afford to wait for him to wake up."

Scurrying of feet implies that No.10 had followed Alexander's instructions.
No. 81400 ID: 0ce62a

Hartman, the facility director who was off-camera, was killed by an enraged #2 due to Alexander's provoking. It turns out 4 was actually a disguised number 8 the whole time. 4 has been locked away in a storage closet. She was rescued as well as the human being that was merged with the security system, IADA.

Everyone escaped.
The lab blew up like 11 said.
good end
