Well, if I'm reading this right, and I'm probably not, the island is a little over twice as big as the actual village. The other half consists of forest and jungle and trees, and there are animals there, possibly big ones.
We washed up on the south shore near the village, because... I.. don't.. know what else that circle with lines through it could represent. It could just be a fishing spot.
Anyway lets go there, to the shore/fishing spot, and see if anything else washed up. We can always try to kill monsters when we're more prepared.
