Ted Buck has been stationed in the watchtower as his first duty after training. Soon his roommate will arrive and they will begin taking 12 hour shifts watching for threats that are only stopped from entering their glorious empire by a concrete wall.

He's both excited to be serving his land and depressed at the thought of such hard work. 12 hours shifts sound like it would kill, but then again, in the army being killed is more than common. He feels he's rather lucky in that way.

It's been a long ride to the tower and a long climb up the stairs, and his shift has only just begun.

Fenix Weatherford has been stationed in the watchtower after two years faithful service. His roommate should already be here. Together they will begin taking 12 hour shifts watching for threats that are only stopped from entering their glorious empire by a concrete wall.

Fenix has done this sort of thing before, but is much smaller towers. Ones where you didn't actually sleep in them.
He is curious to see how it will work out - two men in a cramped space for such a long time.

It's been a long ride to the tower and a long climb up the stairs, and his shift is beginning in 12 hours. He better get some rest.

Sergeant Joe Wagner's log, day 1.

Those fuckers have finally invaded. I have no idea how they managed to get so close unseen. These watchtowers cover the entire area, yet they managed to break through one blindspot.
It wasn't long before we were overrun. My entire squad is dead. I managed to get up this tower and torch the stairs before those fuckers could follow. I hope they burned to death.

This tower is empty. I assume the soldiers on duty were called to perform in battle.
I better check how much supplies I have, and see if I can make contact with the base.

Sergeant Joe Wagner's log, day 1.
16 minutes since lockdown.

Feeling slightly worried about gastank for the stove. Wondering how much is still inside. A leak would be fatal.

I considered opening the door to look outside, but the battle must still be raging. If I open that door I'm bound to find a missile in my stomach.
Or I am just a huge coward.

Send morse code signal to all available frequencies. Hoping for response on one of them.

Sergeant Joe Wagner's log, day 1.

Received response on radio. Morse code message tells me to stay put untill further notice.
Troops will pick me up once the invaders have been defeated.

They would tell you that even if there was no help coming, wouldn't they? But what else can you do? If you open any door, you'll be immediately killed. No, no, your only hope, however slim, is to do as they command and sit tight. If you run out of food, you'll have to risk it, but not before.

Speaking of food, you should do an inventory of your food and water. You're going to have to stretch it out. Plan on being hungry.

Sergeant Joe Wagner's log, day 1.
21 minutes since lockdown.

Have no choice but to follow orders. Will sit here untill anyone finds me. Not opening hatch or door.

Checked food and water supplies. Cupboards contain several bottles of drinkable water, and the sink is connected to a watertank on top of the tower. Don't know how much is in there. Should probably boil that water before consumption.
Food is chocolate, dry crackers and instant powder broth. Seems like fresh food was all consumed or not yet delivered.
Together these should be a week's worth of full meals, but I can stretch it if I eat less.
