... I could've blasted the goblins off with a stronger spell, but I can't do that with Sanya still near the vicinity.

"Sanya! Are you okay?"
"I'm fffine... Just a bit stiff... For some reason, that vomit just shot up my senses..."
"How did you get the Wisdom Stone to talk to me, then? I could hear it."
"What? I did not! I couldn't hear a thing from the stone myself after the attack!"

... I'll move Sanya back to the group, but we need to deal with the goblins.

This is no ordinary plague.

This smacks of a stone.

It reacted to you Sanya. It shot up your senses. Has to be a stone. The last one.

(From the Shard of Knowledge: As the previous candidate, Gezzono uses his experiences to guide his comrades. He will sometimes issue commands on his own if it will benefit the party.)

"Gazzene, Lady Sanya needs assistance. Tend to her!"
Gazzene: "... ... ... A paralyzing substance in the fluid seeped through her eyes and is starting to shut her senses down. I can stop it from spreading further, but Lady Sanya will be blindsighted until we get to the Tonberry Temple to cleanse her off this concoction."
Sanya: "... What? I can't hear you well..."
Gazzene: "You will be fine, Lady Sanya."

With Gazzene carrying Conan and now guiding Lady Sanya, it's up to Murdelp and me to cover them and the goblins. I'm not liking this situation at all.

... Where were the goblins that attacked us?

Piles of ashes now cover our path. Has my spell reduced them to these? One only gets charred, not cremated, in a Fira spell...

They molted, I'm betting. Unless they were just extra flammable.

They didn't get BEHIND us somehow right? Check quickly then advance, staying away from the wall with holes in it. Make sure nobody steps in the blood.

If they were caught in my spell and turned into ash, then their bodies must've been weakened by this plague that haunts them.

I only fear for the kids. It scares me to assume they could turn out like them, but I have to.

"Miss Amina, has any hostile goblin gone past us and behind?"
"You got all of them in your fire. All of them, I think."

To think is not enough. We must confirm.

Seems to be a settling ground for the raiders. Notable is the camp fire; it seems to have only been set up recently. Further proof that the goblins have not stayed here for long.

Excellent judgment. The sooner we get to Alcardia, the bigger the chance of seeing what really is going on, as well as curing everyone of their respective illnesses.

... Boulders. I know for a fact that the one on the western side goes to Alcardia.

Easily smashable by my own magic, they are... But there might be trouble lying ahead. Murdelp could prepare himself with his weapon while I continue the process.

How say you, Wisdom Stone?

don't smash the whole thing.

Bore a decent hole (peferably toward the top where goblins will have a hard time getting to it) in it, and "sanitize" the area behind after you peer past it and see gobzombies.

by "sanatize", I mean a spell that will clear the passage of any reminants. Possibly a stronger version of Fira through the hole... Firaga?

Gazzene's arsenal of magic consists of spells designed to protect and aid her comrades. Even if she has that blue ray of pure energy as an offensive spell, she will be reluctant to attack anyone due to her clerical duties.

>>172748
Amina has been assigned by Lady Sanya the duty of carrying the goblin with the missing leg until we reach Alcardia. It is physically impossible for her to climb up the boulder, and I highly doubt we will see a lot.

>>172888
Careful drilling of this boulder will take much time, a factor which we do not have the abundance of. Are you sure this is a wise decision?

careful drilling? Just put a hole in it. Doesn't have to be that small or that straight. It's just so we can see beyond and not kill innocents... or alert these zombie things

We don't have much time to waste. If taking out the stone can be done with less noise and destruction at all then try to do so. Otherwise hope for the best. Get ready for trouble on the other side regardless.

Do you think your people could have placed the stone there? It doesn't look like it was placed from the outside, but I can imagine them wanting to seal off the area with the goblins.

your city is now screw'd... I'd say be cautious and drill small holes.

Really, this time around, you'll be dealing with either batches of hostile zombie goblins or kinsmen... who may be zombies or just barracaded.

I assume that the lack of head on that thing means that other tonberries have been fighting already...

Lady Sanya told me the goblins failed in their raid and retreated. It's implied that the tonberries held them off. Besides, the council wouldn't allow Alcardia to fall in peril.

Moving to the next area, we now see bodies of tonberries and goblins. A battle certainly took place in this vicinity.

We hear voices from afar. Tonberries.

"... princess is here!"
"With the traitor... Did he threaten her to..."
"... goblins with them! And strange creatures we haven't..."

We both know this, and thus stay away from each other whenever we're near or in Alcardia. It's for our own safety.

I keep an eye on the corpses for anyone who might attack us, but no movement could be seen from them. Gazzene, on the other hand, makes her move.

Gazzene: "Halt! I approach Alcardia with prisoners! We were attacked by goblins earlier, but the ones we carry are innocent youngsters!"
???: "And what about the traitor?"
Gazzene: "He is here on his own account. He brings to Alcardia the chosen one and her comrades. Surely the water bed has cycled once more to allow his visit to occur?"
???: "Finally, he does something right! We will lower the bridge for both of you."

As much as we both want them to understand the reason I'm exiled, we wouldn't want to stir up unrest inside Alcardia. Council orders.

???: "Welcome, Princess Gazzene! The council has been expecting you."
Gazzene: "Can our meeting wait for a bit? The chosen one and her partymates need healing and shelter. I am pretty certain the council also wants to meet them with me, so they are also partly my responsibility."
???: "Duly noted..."

The guard looks at me.

???: "As for you, same protocol. You know the drill, and don't cause any trouble. You've given us enough to handle, already."
