In the Momentous Realm, strange things often happen. Dwarves and humans alike are taken at any moment by a strange urge to do...something. The urge comes on so strong that to be unable to follow it is enough to drive someone mad. Nobody knows just what these people crave to accomplish, not until the deed is done. Half of the time the people themselves don't know.

But Darquando Vitalwaves knows. There is a place to the north that he must reach.

He wants to strike Hell itself.

Nice goal.

How far to the north are you heading? What goods are you carrying on your back there?

Strike it how? Details please, the more information you can give us about the problem itself the easier it is to figure out what a solution looks like.

What you should do is recruit six other dwarves and construct an obsidianizer.

STRIKE THE EARTH!

Find some stooges that are willing to follow your orders blindly.

Along with some food and drinks, Darquando has brought along everything the town guard could salvage from his father when he was killed. The man was no Emerald King of Skulls, but he'd collected a fair amount of things while following his Urge.

Dar feels that familiar spike of pride and sadness as he looks over the items.

Darquando...isn't quite sure. He knows he's meant to go there and do something of importance, but precisely what...he doesn't quite know.

>>How far to the north are you heading?
He's not quite sure of that either...all his neighbors could tell him of how far it is was "it is far to the north."

>>What you should do is recruit six other dwarves and construct an obsidianizer.
Darquando doesn't know what an "obsidianizer" is or where he would even find six dwarves. His town has always been a bit distanced compared to other human towns; the only time he's seen a dwarf is when an adventurer stopped by for supplies.

>>Find some stooges that are willing to follow your orders blindly.
Dar knows some people in the town guard that might be interested in joining him, but they're probably out on patrol now...

Darquando starts to doubt himself. His friends say he's a great shot and a good forager, but he knows he isn't as good as his father was--if a legend like that still failed in his quest, what chance could he have? Perhaps it's better if he just goes back to his mother's cottage, locks himself in his room and wait for the madness to hit...

That's quitter's talk! Giving up before you even begin you quest is worse than failure! You may not become better than you father in skill, but you will better him in deed; off to adventure!

Our first step is the first town after ours, where we will buy maps and other necessary supplies!(or, you know, here; but that doesn't fit as well thematically)

Do you know how to gut and prepare an animal that you caught for eating/cooking?

Dar shakes the doubt from his head. he can't quit before he even tries--that wouldn't just shame his father's memory, it would shame his conscience.

>>just get to walking then.

Dar gives himself a small target for his first step. Flycarries isn't too far away from his hometown--it will make for a good starting point for his adventure.

DARQUANDO VITALWAVES BEGINS TRAVELING.

DARQUANDO VITALWAVES HAS TRAVELED 2 HOURS

Dar travels across the plains between the two villages without difficulty until a familiar face shows up on a hill.

>1: "Greetings Dar, long live the cause! How's Skyward's shortest sniper doing, eh?"

Otu Grassjourneys the Malice of Rivers stands before Dar, looking radiant as ever. The crossbowman's throat tightens up--just like before he has no clue what to say to such a goddess...

Talk about your quest to strike at Hell. Ask if they have heard of any rumors related to demons.

OK, I see what you are doing now. She is a beautiful human then.
How long have you known her and have you acted on your feelings towards her? Does she have any duties that would prevent her from going with you?

>@: "Er, long live the cause, Otu...I'm, uh...."

>1: "Ahhh, I see. Setting out like your old man, are you?"

>@: "Y-yeah."

>1: "Well, good luck. What're you going to do?"

>@: "Uh, I'm thinking about going to Hell..."

>1: "...An ambitious quest, I'll give you that much."

>@: "Look, uh...have you heard any rumors about demons? I don't have much of a lead..."

>1: "Oh sure, the bastards are everywhere. I hear there's one in charge of The Plague of Scourges, one in charge of the Evils of Enlightenment. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'god' we serve at the capital's one as well, I hear they like to play pretend."

>@: "Damn, not much chance of me reaching them there..."

>1: "Hmm...there's an adventurer hanging around the mead hall who probably knows a little more than a town guard. I could take you to him, if you'd like."

>@: "Thanks..."

>>How long have you known her and have you acted on your feelings towards her?
Dar first met the beauty when they were just kids. They were town guard recruits at the same time, and sparred often during the Flycarries-Deepshovels competitions. He's never gotten up the nerve to actually do something about his feelings...he doubts a goddess like this one would ever find someone like him worthy of being in a relationship with her.

>>Does she have any duties that would prevent her from going with you?
Otu is a town guard of Flycarries, but like Dar she's a volunteer, not a conscript. If the purpose was to help an adventurer with his Urge she'd be allowed to leave in a heartbeat.

THE PARTY HAS TRAVELED 3 HOURS-- GOBLINS!

Three goblins watch Dar and Otu walk from nearby. They're fingering their weapons and wearing smug looks. Otu snorts at their arrogant stances.

>1: "These damned gobbos...I don't know why but the town lord's been letting them wander our lands without question."

>g1: "Ey girr, you taikh you teym on dese hillhs! You don' wann an axident, eh?"

The town guard's looking awful tense.
>1: "I've just about had it with these bastards, Dar...want to teach them some manners?"

Sure thing, you on ranged and her on melee sounds good. First thing though is to demand they surrender their weapons. They won't, and they'll try to attack you, but it gives you guys a great reason to kill them instead of you going around picking fights.

When the actual fight starts go for the enemy archer first(to have fewer elements to deal with) then the steel axe goblin.

Impress her with your manliness by sprinting forwards dropping your crossbow, grabbing one of your bolts and stabbing the goblins with it.
