Alright, who thinks its dickish to have an Leman Russ in a 500 point 40K game?

The guards' strength is in its tanks, so a single russ in a game that size isn't too dickish.

True. Thank the Emperor for cheap but reatively good and well armored ten man squads. Ever since I noticed Vets are a entirely seperate choice for infantry,I'm going with them.

Hell, most list builds are made on mechanized might.

Most of my list builds*

And as a side note, might even do a full blown Armored Company instead of normal Guard.

That would be cool. The current guard codex has loads of options for army builds, so you have lots of flavors to choose from. And armor is always tasty.

What I'm saying dude is useing a supplment they released for the Imperial Armor books, it allows you to use a diffrent list then usual. Why is this so great?

Instead of Heavy Support, you can get a Leman Russ Squadron as Troops.

Which means you can get eighteen Russes on the field. Plus Nine bits of Artillery. Oh, you'll need a Command Vehicle though.

Unfortunatly only vets does not make a good capture and hold strategy normaly when I field mine I try to have one platoon for point control and 1-2 vet squads. The rest is either spent Basilisk, Russ's, or the occasional outflanking sentinels or hellhounds (gotta love creed)

It helps to have several Russes backing them up later on. Also.

Company Command Tank(Vanquisher Leman Russ with HeavY Bolter Sponsons and Pintle Mounted Heavy Stubber) - 180

TROOPS

Tank Squadron(3 standard Leman Russes with Heavy Bolter Sponsons) - 210

Armored Fist Squad - 105

500

This is what I came up with as a 500 point Armored Company. It almost seems unfair.

Made a Mistake for once caculateing.

I replaced the three Russes with one Excutioner going full Plasma ( Plasma Sponsons ) n' took off the Heavy Stubber from the Command Tank and made it a Vanquisher instead.
