A couple ideas to consider. I'll just toss a few out and let the kobolds figure out what to try. :)
>>381475 is, overall, a pretty good plan. So is >>381485. Combining them is good times.
If, for some reason, we don't have the ability to set up any pit traps, consider the following:
- If the river is wide and at least waist-deep, try to lure the gnolls into it. It'll slow them down and you can take potshots. Punylocks is the perfect bait - she just has to do a good job looking like she didn't intend to get caught, and try to run away. When they follow into the river, magic the shit out of them.
- Try to avoid close combat at all costs. Magical ranged attacks, throwing knives, bows and arrows, etc., are our best options. Use the close-range fighters only in protection of our ranged units or as ambush fighters. Hiding somewhere on the way to our 'bait' and then hamstringing them, as said, would be a pretty good idea. Disable their legs, and you can pelt them from a distance.
- Aim to disable first, then go in for the kill if necessary.
- Punylocks told us everything about her encounter with the gnolls, right? I'm assuming we know that the gnolls in Chomp's group have a "special" solution to "scare out" the kobolds, then. Ask Hilt what it is. We don't want ANY surprises.
- Simple traps can be effective. Trip lines, small pits to trip the gnolls up, etc. But they only work if the gnolls take a very specific path. If we can find a good path to use for this, it would be perfect.
- Can Punylocks and Fraga work up a kind-of combo steam blast? Steam can scald, and be more damaging in some ways than either fire or water on its own. If we can use a steam jet to scald their faces and take out their eyes, we can pelt them from a distance.
Also, what the heck kind of skills does Lilu have?
