Psychic powers are more believable than something ignoring the square cube law.

Yes, I'm not gonna even explain, just another idiot's shot at Metal Glen in 3D. Just started by the way. Making this in Unreal Engine 3, so there's a lot of possibilities. If I finish the facility and anyone's willing to help (and Weaver doesn't have a thing against it), it could even become a game. (Hey, not like RQ would be that hard to recreate in UDK - I could get it done without even making a new codebase.)

Does that engine have any accommodations for portals?

If you mean the brig rift, level streaming and physics volumes could make the mindfuckery possible. If you mean Valve-esque portals, there's many ways to mimic that.

UnrealEngine 1 and 2 had WarpZones. I don't know if they'll have bothered maintaining the feature; its quirkiness increased from UT99 to UT2003/4 in general.

Making an actual adventure game in UDK would be a nontrivial undertaking, especially if you want out-of-room camera angles, since you can't send the camera out into the void without upsetting the vis system.

I was thinking of a Silent Hill like fixed/rotating camera, or even considering a Penumbra like first person view. There's many ways this can be done, and good camera action can build up the mood even more. (the matinee/kismet makes it really easy to set up views for each room and cutscene)

Some screenshots here, BSP only for now as meshes will come later. The materials are just placeholders.

You are very good. I would love to help, but it'd take a lot of learning before I'd be of any use to you.

You see, my knowledge of the Unreal Editor does not go beyond 'middle click moves the view.'

...now, if you want textured models and the such, that's a different matter entirely.

Then your knowledge is outdated. MMB is for measuring distance in units~

don't know if it would be possible, but you could try making the camera mimic the various shots in rubyquest like when stitches is introduced.

the camera would be the biggest part of the mindfuckery, so don't phone it in.

We're barely speaking of a game and you want to do voice acting already o_o

What I need now is models, static meshes of stuff around MG, all the ITEMS and OBJECTS.

I can't even construct an opus right now.

Um....

...though I am wondering where you got your textures. And as I was making this, I learned how freaking TINY the default player is.
