A new Minecraft server has started! Come and build with us.

Installation and joining instructions: http://pastebin.com/CzsjbXZs

Server address is mc.tgchan.org

Note: If everything is dark when you first spawn in, you're underwater. Swim up!

I would strongly recommend setting up the server to automatically restart once in a while, say every 6/8/12 hours, and to also perform backups prior to restarting.

I would also put in a personal request for some better storage such as Iron Chests ( https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/iron-chests ) without adding too much complexity.

And less importantly something like bagginses would also be handy, but I don't know how well the server would like that. ( https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/bagginses )

Is it too late to add in Extra Utilities to the modpack? I was pretty excited to have that one included, but I see that it was left out of the final count. On a different note, we do have an issue of no mod containing copper blocks or ingots! This makes it impossible to remove copper from a smeltery except in the form of tools.

>>28277
Possible alternative to that could be: JABBA barrels, which work well for storing large amount of raw resources like stone and dirt. Who knows, maybe both.

You mean bronze ingots, right? Currently it's just Tinker that adds it, so it can only be used for tinker items (chisel does have bronze blocks, but there's no base bronze block that can be crafted).

And we have CITY (on the wire!)
http://tgchan.org/wiki/Static_on_the_Wire

this is really all there is right now, this lil cityblock, but eventually I have plans to add more building types and tighten up the design a bit more to fit what I'm going for (notably swapping out that yellowy stuff for a darker more oppressive color, IE, the Sprawl from Static on the Wire.
Been wanting to slap this one together since the last modpack though, problems with feasibility roadblocked me then!
This new method using structure blocks and prefabs has made the thing go up much quicker, and I plan on setting up zipline puzzles and underground funtimes to this!

I'll also be leaving empty lots strewn throughout the city for enterprising sorts to come in and slap their own skyscraper, secret garden, or hellish torture chamber up in-between all the monolithic towers and bright lights!

Wanted to build this for a good while and with the latest stuff finally had a reason to try!

ON THAT NOTE!
I need some ideas for what to add next, things like libraries that you'd find in cities that would make good builds or fun obstacle course hooks!
Or just things that should show up anyhow!
Things I'm Designing:
-sewer maze
-subway network
-more standard skyscraper buildings

Remember, in line with Static's shown architecture we should be going for giant brutalist things, so I'll probably try to look at the grand cockups of engineering going on in china for inspiration. More ideas the merrier though!

The zip file in the pastebin expired or something. The version of forge you want is this one:

A power plant, functional or otherwise, to explain all the wiring. Maybe a nuclear one, like the plant in a Conspiracy of Wasps.

Speaking of which...

Here's a map of my travels! Between the northeast island where I live and the new continent that Arhra and Lime and I discovered, I also discovered a second island made with the new worldgen.

Sketching out more potential ideas, trying to really think in terms of clusterfuckery for more central buildings like these! Biggest problem is still setting up good block variety, the lignite doesn't quite scratch the proper itch and only a couple of the chisel blocks are usable for this. I might look into some texture pack editing to see if I can work around that, we'll see!

I also have vague ideas for setting up a giant step pyramid type building out in the water, since brom said floating buildings are a thing earlier.

What better way to mark your presence on the server than with a tasteful gravestone! Just head west of the village, dump your belongings in the gravekeeper's hut, use the bed to set your spawn and get a friend to execute you!

Map update: Arhmerica is circumnavigated! It's a long way from being fully explored, but it's nice to have a clearer picture of the world. Plus, it turns out I tunneled so far up in the Nether that I actually skipped past Geographicraft's frozen north into a parallel universe (Earth-2). Whoops!

The imgur album's also being updated with this.

Sadly, circumnavigating the land was not without casualties. One poor soul met his enderman as far from civilization as could be. We held a service for him in the rain. Very somber. A creeper attended the funeral.

Likely caused by moving the map from one version of Minecraft to another or from one biome/map generation mod to another. Newly generated chunks would use a different algorithm than previously generated chunks, leading to terrain mismatch.

Today: the base transition for the central tower!
Might rework this at a later date, not 100% on the design, but we'll see if the general shape stays after the SPRUCENING UPPE. Tomorrow: More sand garden!
