So uh, if i started a quest, would i be expected to draw for it? I'm a somewhat talented writer who's especially skilled with description with absolutely zero drawing ability, so I could describe well enough to make up for the lack of visuals or ask a more artsy pal to help.

we have text quest on this site so if you want to do an all text quest more power to you. If you do make an all text quest just do something to make your text boxes stand out so people playing in your quest can easily tell your messages apart from other players.

Cygnus is, at this very moment, running several spectacular text-based quests with just filler graphics and pure-gui images.
Art is by no means a necessity for a good quest but, like a19cd5 said, if you think it'll be vital to the quest you want to run, find someone to collaborate with you.

Random people in your quest thread probably aren't going to contribute art for each update, if that's what you're asking.
