The big problem with unarmed is that the one perk that gives armor to power is the ONLY perk that affects it. One and two handed weapons get +100% damage just from the first perk in their trees, and get a ton of other benefits like increased attack speed, bonus damage, crit chances, faster and cheaper power attacks, 25% decapitation chance, and so on. Unarmed just lets you stay lower level since it doesn't raise a skill, and has a pretty quick swing speed in exchange for no range at all.

If one-handed perks applies to unarmed, then yes it would be amaze. But instead its just viable.

Unless you are Khajiit, you don't need to worry about unarmed combat.

If you are Khajiit, you need to worry about unarmed combat, because there are some people you want to hurt but not kill and those people are quite fragile. True story: I had to reload once or twice because of this fact.

Also, daggers are the most powerful weapon. 60x sneak attack damage? Yes, we can.

I'm going for a one hand / spell build and I can't decide what would be most beneficiant: Heavy armor or light armor
>>
No. 18910 ID: 7f4c74

Heavy armor, since you won't be able to block for shit. I'm pretty sure there's perks associated with magic that make it so that your spells aren't affected by armor, either.

Heavy armor if you tend to use your weapon as your main attack, light armor if you use magic as your main attack.

Heavy armor has no downside.

WRONG, BITCH.

It's heavy.

That means you can't carry as many potions you never use anyway.

By Talos, I don't even want to guess at the number of Minor Healing Potions stashed in the chest in my house. And I'm lucky arrows have no weight. I must be carrying thousands (at least 950+ Ancient Nord Arrows, 600+ Steel Arrows and Clavicus Vile knows how many Iron, Falmer and Forsworn Arrows, with a few handfuls of Glass, Dwarven, Orcish, Elven, etc. arrows).

1: Arrows have 0 weight
2: Heavy Armor 70 Perk: Heavy Armor weighs nothing and does not slow you down

How do you get hit enough to get an armor skill that high?

It's as if you weren't the sneaky type. Absurd!

To be honest, I'm a "run in swinging" type, and I still have trouble getting hit enough.

>That means you can't carry as many potions you never use anyway.

Heh so I'm not the only one. Does anyone here actually use potions as a part of their play style? Because apart from occasionally chugging a health potion I've never bothered.
>>

>>18921
I use them during tough battles when I need every bit of advantage I can get. But I use poisons much more.
Problem is, the toughest enemies are usually draugr, which as far as I'm aware are immune to poison.

Well, Five-Claw Discount considers it a failure if she is detected in the first place, and sneak attacks usually kill anything in one shot that can, indeed, be killed in one shot to begin with, so poisons and archery potions just aren't usually worth the effort (but I'm looking into paralysis and stamina poisons because 1) the paralysis and fatigue spells from that Oblivion mod kept me entertained for days and 2) maybe some of the not-one-hit-kills will be more humiliatingly easy to handle).

However, I've been in a couple of tough spots AND I'm a veteran STALKER, so I just can not leave the house without backup systems. Mostly I've just needed health potions in some exceptionally tight spots (FUCK YOU ALDUIN) and needed a couple of stamina potions to beat two mammoths and three giants in one go. Only once did I use an invisibility potion for the highlight performance of my Dark Brotherhood career.

But I am getting a mage character started and I'm already looking into alchemy at level 1, so I'll probably be using stuff for nukes and protection.

Weight penalties mean nothing in a game where at any given time you can teleport (or, how they prefer to call it, "fast travel") to your house and store anything that could slow you down.

So yeah, heavy armor has no downsides.
>>

Only downside is early on if you want to sneak. Shits noisy. Solution? Sneak in the nude and put it all on if your detected.
>>
No. 18941 ID: c7b6c2

So I was fucking around during the early DB missions, and I did something with my armor that lead to me not wearing any clothes and totally not realizing it, in turn leading to me walking around some town in the nude. And the townspeople actually commented on it! "You're, uh, not wearing any clothes. You should do something about that."

This game, man. The little things just make it golden.

The quest arrow leads me straight to it, I don't know what you're doing wrong. Just go into the dungeon, shank a few Forsworn, and it's in a chest I think.

You have to check Misc quests twice for them to show: first you need the "quest" Miscellaneous active, then you need to activate the specific Misc quest in the list.

Problem with Steam purchases, I never bother to read the manual, and I never realize what I can do. Hell took me a day of playing before I found out I could sprint.

Main Quest is hella short compared to the other elder scrolls games. Hell, a lot of the quest lines seem shorter.

IF I wasn't taking my sweet time doing a mixture of other questlines, I could've gone student to archmage of a fucking college within a week instead of the month or so it did take.

I was wondering--I haven't played Skyrim myself, but I found this guy in another Skyrim-related thread. Is he an important character or a very generic NPC? I ask because I want to draw him and it would be nice if I could have a name to attach to the image.

Alright, I can't post a screenshot of mine because I xbawx, but here's a nice picture I saw of someone the same general shape. My dovahkiin is yet another lizard wizard archmage, Lumi. She wanted to be a healer, but ended up more the type who sets everything on fire. She also enchants, and alchemizes, and picks locks in order to get things to enchant and alchemize, and sells the things she enchants and alchemizes for profit using her feminine lizard wiles, and once killed a man who made the mistake of telling her he was going to sic his mates on the mages' college when he was alone in a room with her and her hired goon deep inside an ancient labyrinth where no-one would hear him scream. She tells people she put a dragon skeleton in the college courtyard for study and decoration, but this is only half true at best.

I like to think she does experiments on how the Voice works, for the greater good of wizardly knowledge.

I hope this dude is important to a quest somewhere, because if not, having this guy do nothing but move from seat to seat all day seems awfully shallow. Quite what I shouldn't expect to see in such a highly-rated title.

Oh yeah and I finally got some better armour. Took fucking long enough, and it was on a filthy bandit, of all things.

That is desctiption is extremely similar to how I normally play TES games (except for the most recent time, when I played an Orc mage just to spite the natural order of things {an example of what I am referring to is how in Oblivion, the Orcs are the only species without a single member in the mage's guild}).

Also, that is a very nice drawing which makes me kind of sad I don't have Skyrim yet.

This clearly ruins all and any enjoyment of the video.
