Ill join up with the guild, this game is pretty cool. Like sort of a Zelda feel to it, with a similar control scheme to an old Westwood game called Nox.

Character name is "Decimal" for the guild invite or give me a yell if you see me on any.

Stick with the team, never go alone, revive teammates, bring two separate types of weapon, collect the hell out of materials, buy every recepie you think you might use, hoard crystal energy for crafting, craft often, never buy from the shops, players might be inclined to rip you off, buy low and sell high, get a good guild, don't drop in the middle of a dungeon, don't start something you can't finish.

TL:DR they have a wiki, you should check that out and start saving up to make cool gear.

Oh, and gear specialties don't really factor in THAT much, so it's mostly rule of cool/afford.

Just started playing. Did this just start up recently? Because I think I would have heard of this before now. This is pretty damn fun.

Anyway, my character name's "Tetrachoron". I'll join whatever guild you guys are in.

The wolver stuff takes items dropped by the doggies. Any level whose name implies beasts will have them. The deeper levels will have the tier 2 material that you're probably having trouble getting.

Alright, I've been looking into this game for some time now and I really wanna play it, but I just CANNOT STAND free to play games that have time you can play limitations. The other game I've played that was really good you could ALMOST ignore this was Vindictus, but they have a play limit too.

So my question is this: Is this game's play limit really that much of a bother, how much time do you think I could play before having to stop?

Does it become a massive problem late game? Can you even get to late game because of it?

No. 15004 ID: 55c4cf

Due to the way the game has been set up, it is possible to buy Crystal Energy(CE) with in game money. The first couple of days might be a little difficult (Without help from friends, at least) but once you start getting yourself momentum T1 Runs can give you enough crowns to buy another 100 energy and go through T1 again with leftover money and energy. T2 runs are harder, but I've gotten enough Crowns to purchase 200 Crystal Energy from one run before. It is extremely possible to play Spiral Knights endlessly if you have friends to accompany you in more difficult runs, and manage your Crowns and Energy appropriately as well as purchase all the extra perks without spending a single dime of real money.

It might be a little restrictive, but it's by no means crippling unless you are bad at managing your video game finances and budgeting/planning.

>>15004
Hey, thanks for the info and that sounds pretty cool. I also don't mean to knock it but I find it rather awkward/stupid that one must have to manage in-game money stuff in a game that's main focus is on hack'n'slash action game play.

I'm by no means bad at it, I've played games that are focused around resource management like this before, just, this is an action game like I said so it's kind of annoying and I THINK it might cause huge breaks in the action if I have to stop and play accountant once in a while.

However, I think I will give it a try in a bit.
>>
No. 15013 ID: a3780a

>>15011
It's far less resource management than a game like Diablo 2, you will just progress faster if you have an idea of what you plan to get. You don't even have to do any trading, you can get everything easily enough by yourself.
>>
No. 15038 ID: 72d523

>>15013
It also helps if you have a friendly guild leader or something. I told mine that I was half way to 2* areas so he made me a bunch of stuff for free, and all I had to make was a shield.

And the game isn't restrictive with the energy system. It sort of says "time to take a break," and this is a game where that's a good thing. It's a really fun game but it's not made in a way that you can play for hours on end and still have fun.

It's cool logging off after running a few dungeons and coming back to see a new list of dungeons in new orders and new weapons and recipes in the shop. It's a game you could easily break with memorization, so it stops you from memorizing the levels.

Also, you can really only run 1 and a half dungeons per day without any crystal energy, self revives or goodie doors. That won't be a problem in most cases, since by the time you have good enough gear to be running more than one at a time without getting overloaded you'll have a good store of crystal energy. I like to keep my crystal energy at 200, putting in at least 1 new batch per day.

SORDS I CAN MAKJANG:
**Troika
***Kamarin
****Khorovod
****Faust
HALM:
**Wolver Cap
***Dusker Cap
****Ash Tail Cap
ARMUR:
**Wolver Coat
****Ash Tail Coat
SHEELD:
**Defender
***Great Defender
**Owlite Shield
***Horned Owlite Shield
****Wise Owlite Shield
Everything costs as much as it costs me to make it, which you can look up on the wiki. Missing materials is not a big deal, I have a good chunk of extras right now. The Troika series is very good if you can only afford to carry one cheap sword with you and want to be effective against everything, Khorovod does more damage than a Faust to things it isn't strong against.
>>
No. 15253 ID: 8c0b41

>>15241
Yeah I have the Troika-series as well - they're quite fantastic if you are solo-ing or generally face a lot of enemies and need some space. The idea is to make one slash and block immediately. I've seen people beat that T3-boss this way.
Still, you'll kind of need a quick sword as well. I do at least - you're just doing better against single enemies.

Also hooray for Wolver+hoot hoot

So, update. Energy costs for crafting increased, but hey, there's an Auction House!

...that takes 10% of your cash when you sell something. Oh boy.

Also, for anyone who's been playing this longer than I have, where does the price of CE usually stay at? When I first started playing, it was 4,000 crowns or less, but it's been hovering around 5,000 for a little while now.

Since other people have listed what they can make, I might as well also, since I've got some 5* recipes. Seffo in game, everything only costs what it costs to make.

1*
Heavy Hatchet - Sword

2*
Cobalt Helm
Cobalt Armor

3*
Drake Scale Shield
Swiftstrike Buckler
Dusker Coat
Dusker Cap
Twisted Snarble Barb - Sword

4*
Avenger - Sword
Faust - Sword
Dark Thorn Blade - Sword
Silent Nightblade - Sword
Ash Tail Cap
Ash Tail Coat
Wyvern Scale Shield

5*
Gran Faust - Sword
Vog Cub Coat
Vog Cub Cap
Divine Avenger - Sword
Dragon Scale shield
Barbarous Thorn Blade - Sword

Have fun finding unbound versions of the 3-4* items for the next tier up.
