It's time for us to "post our battlestations" or whatever it is the kids are saying these days.

This thread is inspired by Seal's kickass gaming rig.

VHS, eh? Cruftacular.

Yes, this cassette deck is hooked up and working. Sadly my car stereo does not support such advanced technology.

the books and figurines mainly, because only nerds read books
the blanket is actually pretty stylin'

I actually don't really read books much any more. When I'm somewhere with electricity, I spend most of my time online. I tend to read for leisure only when I'm off the grid, these days.

The lugia figurine I think I got from preordering Soul Silver. It's been sitting there since.
The Dinosaur I got when I was visiting the Museum of the Rockies something like a year and a half ago, after not having been in the area since I was very small. I bought a little dinosaur because I like dinosaurs.
I think those are the only figurines in this picture?

My current setup :)

Highlights include: Nice leather chair. Radiator to warm feet on. Left side windows key removed from keyboard years ago because I'd press it in the heat of battle and accidentally break games. Bed next to desk so I can lie in said bed and use the PC if I turn the monitor around. Lots of space.

I should probably post my workstation, since that seems to be where I live these days.

On the plus side, it is a very good system. Triple monitor setup... in an economy size cube. It is roughly eight times as powerful as my phone in every way, including total pixel resolution. Technology is weird.

I noticed the other day that >>/questdis/341046 is forty times the image area of the Atari 8-bit series' usual graphics mode, and 16 million colours as opposed to four, yet would fit on a single side of one of their "double density" 5 1/4" floppies.

PNG's pretty impressive.

Well that's a pretty spartan setup.

And fuck that left windows key. They really should just make keyboards without it.

I love the windows key. Has some damned useful shortcuts, like quicklaunch (win+[number]) or, for anyone who regularly sets up new machines and needs to get to info/device manager a lot, win+pause/break, as are win+R (run) and win+E (new explorer window). Win+L is pretty much a reflex action whenever I stand up in front of a machine.

Most keyboard drivers let you disable the winkey when something is in fullscreen mode, so accidentally hitting it isn't really a problem.

But you can do all that with the right windows key.

My keyboard (UK layout) has no right windows key. And that would make one-handed shortcuts rather uncomfortable.

They do, if you're pretentious enough. If you're really pretentious, you can get ones with Tux keys instead (which are identical except you can show everyone around you that you're stupid enough to use Linux on the desktop).

Don't forget to swap Caps Lock and Ctrl as well (only this one is actually arguably sensible if you use few enough setups).

I can actually still use the left windows button... I just have to push the rubber trigger at the bottom of the keywell. I used to have the unmade windows key taped to the top of my old old monitor as a trophy, but then I lost it somewhere.

>>13431
I could possibly have used some kind of awkward software solution or installed some kind of unneccessary drivers, but my method will persist across multiple platforms and Windows versions without any compatibility issues!

We have the same tablet and a similar box of dice.

I have a ghetto desk but it's not piled with beer bottles though.
>>

That box with the dice used to contain lunch meat of some kind. I've cleaned most of the beer bottles off of it by now, although it features small sculptures and assorted odds and ends instead. Oh, you can see some beer bottles on the floor down there in the picture too, and there were some on the shelf that's above that and not visible in the image. Beers.

Doesn't look poor to me.
You've got a computer and shit. Same model box as me, near as I can tell. Not that I'm rich or anything, but still, not too poor. Your desk is fancy as fuck.

Also, try using your tablet as a mousepad. That's what I do, and it works well. Yours is a design admittedly less suitable to that purpose, but it could work fine.

Hey, I have the same tablet. But mine isn't orientated like I were left handed. Which I guess you aren't either, judging by the position of the mouse.
