Plague Filled Heart technically is connected to the Rotten Apple Quotes, even if the original setting wasn't supposed to have anything fantastical in it. The characters from that abandoned quest crossed over into the Rotten Apple story, so what happened in that story happened in the earliest time of the Rotten Apple world's history.
