Karen has a crazy drug-fueled night and wakes up naked in a dark hospital. THINGS are going down.

The Basic Plot

Karen has a crazy, drug-fueled night that she barely remembers. She wakes up naked in a hospital bed and determines that the hospital has been mostly abandoned. She comes to find that the entire town she is in has been abandoned because a huge storm is rolling into the area in six to eight hours. Karen has to use her power to either escape or somehow halt the impending disaster.

Karen Has a Power

Karen has the ability to activate spirits and get boons from them.

Karen can't see the spirits in the area unless she closes her eyes, then she can see their form, but can only vaguely tell their size or position in space.

The spirits can possess people, and may or may not be able to possess Karen. None have really tried so far. Once they possess people, Karen can activate them by touching the person and possibly getting the person involved in some kind of sexual activity or state of arousal.

Once that happens, Karen goes to some kind of spirit area where the viewpoint changes. There, she engages in sexual contact with the spirit, and when it climaxes, she has the option to either submit to them or dominate them. The author indicated that there is a correct and incorrect response, but it appears that the suggesters have chosen correctly each time. The response is based on the personality of the spirits.

At that point, Karen can either have the spirit follow her around in the real world until she needs the boon, or have it give her a boon immediately. Each spirit has something to do with one of five big concepts, and also has listed "domains." The boons are a single act or effect that can be described as fitting inside one of those domains. Once the boon is used, the spirit disappears.

Clear Fluid

Karen found a bottle of clear, unlabled liquid. It seems to allow her to immediately get a boon from any spirit without either finding it in the real world, having it possess anyone, making any contact with it in the spirit world, or making the right "dominate"/"submit" choice. She can even choose spirits she hasn't found yet.

Other Humans

Benny: Karen found Benny in the hospital. He seems extremely shy and nervous around Karen, and is wearing a hospital gown. He seems to have some kind of health condition of an unspecified nature.

Other Girl: Karen met another girl with a coat and a gun sneaking around in the courtyard of the hospital. The girl claims to have supernatural powers, and can see spirits. She seems to be tied to one of the big concepts in a way that is unlike a normal possession. Karen took her gun and locked her in a bathroom.

Paths and Portals

Campe is the major spirit for Paths and Portals. She is a monstrous creature with a dragon head, snakes for hair and legs, a scorpion tail, and wings. She is very friendly toward Karen

 Current Boon: Campe will protect Karen from the first event that will cause her real harm. If the harm comes from
 something that is attracted to Karen, there is a chance it will continue to protect her.

The Stranger

Lamia is a mentally disturbed creature that resembles a slender human woman with some kind of monster face. She's been consistently described as having dry skin. She is friendly toward Karen, but kinda creepy and codependent.

 Current Boon: Lamia has a physical body and is bound to obey Karen. She can't grant a boon.

Beast of Gévaudan A big, slender wolf, the Beast was extremely interested in having contact with Karen and continued to muck about and make lewd comments until his boon was used.

 Domains: Hunger, Being Hidden
 Current Boon: -
 Old Boons: Karen was made invisible and inaudible for a couple of minutes.

Jersey Devil A horse-headed devil. Karen reminded him of his mother, who he hates, and thus tried to kill her. Eventually calmed down after Karen took up a less motherly attitude.

Old and the Forgotten

Kokolimalayas, the bone man is a giant skeleton made of a multitude of smaller skeletons. He appears to be extremely hostile towards humans and threatened to eat Karen.

 Domains: Summoning, Utter Desolation, Fear, Devouring to Gain Power
 Current Boon: Kokolimalayas summoned a physical body for Lamia and bound her to Karen.
