I took some forethought on the division between PC and NPCs. It shouldn't be any great leap in logic to assume that due to their status as PCs the characters will be in action far more often than the NPCs and thus require more editing. Likewise it is to be expected that their affiliations, capabilities, history, and equipment sections are likely to grow at a rate far exceeding that of NPCs. So in the future without this distinction we will have these few rather massive chunky sections in the character list that are constantly being updated, growing ever larger, and being frequently viewed as reference material by visitors reading the page. I figure it will just be simpler to have them sectioned off to make it easier on both editors and users wanting to quickly access the information.

A yet to be introduced or waiting list section would be fine, feel free to add it in when you get the chance. As for citing sources pertaining to outside knowledge, I don't believe that would do much good as most if not all of those sources would direct you to the irc channel. A link to that channel was up in the infobox until someone removed it, mistaking it's addition as another user's failure to add in a link for the discussion thread. One of your examples is disputable though, we have known Olga existed in quest for quite a while now, she was introduced along with Brandt as simply his wife. It is her capabilities and intent that have not been stated directly.

Wasn't the wizard the guy that we faked an assassination attempt on really early in the thread? I'd figured that would count as an "encounter".

No, that was not the actual wizard. The wizard owns the school we were in, but does not teach there. The person we were hired to miss was a professor there.

The main page has gotten huge. Abeo and I are migrating characters over from the NPC section into the Dossier Database page. Once we've gotten them all, I'll delete the NPC listing and point it at the Dossier page. What do you guys think of moving the other player characters that are closely involved with Amras (Camella, B.C., Hillevi, and Labombard) over to the minion page with the others? It would be more in line with current practice.

Latest revision as of 06:13, 16 March 2013

Why is there a PC/NPC division for the characters here? Armas interacts with everyone the same whether they're a PC or not. Why not just put everyone in order of appearance, then throw a note in the descriptions or change the color of their name or something to indicate who the PCs are?

Also, there are a fair number of characters that we've heard about and are important to the plot, but we haven't actually met. Or that we haven't heard about and have no existence at all from Armas' perspective, but we know about from some OOC source. Perhaps a section for them after the list of characters in order of appearance would be appropriate? Preferably with their character notes including how we know what we know; it seems like there's a fair bit of information that never made it into either the thread or the discussion thread, except as casual mentions from people who seemingly accessed that information from elsewhere. Examples of this are the fact that Olga exists or that Savoy lost his arm; original sources for things like that would be nice.

I think that propose section would work just fine, feel free to add it in when you get the chance.
