A quest by [[Cirr]]. Someone is in a derelict facility that is filled with a variety of deadly abominations and is controlled by an unstable AI. Except this time you are the AI, and the goal is taking over the world.
===Sinter===
:'''Actual Name:''' Serelki
:'''Species:''' Areeni (post-baseline)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' Unknown

Sinter arrived at the KerenzeTec facility and managed to infiltrate as far as its core AI room at the very beginning of the quest. She previously worked as a scientist for a biotech research company run by her father, until he died in an accident. Sinter then decided that there was nothing else there for her, and left everything behind, possibly just to take over the Zero Station that she thought was abandoned. From her former career she understands enough about biomodding to have made nonsurgical improvements such as extremely sharp and hard claws, and an acid producing gland on her tail. Sinter managed to convince not only herself, but both the site director and AI of the Zero Station, as well as just about everyone else she's met since getting here, that her nebulous plans to take over the world are sound. She is known to be ambitious, although rash and impulsive, resorting to bad ideas very quickly when under stress. Fortunately, she has someone more capable of considering immediate events more fully in a short timespan, giving her feedback and suggestions.

...Wait, that someone is /quest/? Oh. Well, she's doomed.
:'''Actual Name:''' Kealeli
:'''Species:''' Areeni (amphibious positive)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' Unknown

Very little is known about Vibrant at this point. She has a great proficiency in the crafting of synthetic life forms, for whom she has a strong affinity, and has usually been seen with at least one of her creations nearby. She is very meek and shy, and despite her nudism felt extremely embarassed and nervous being around Tzet. Despite anything that one would expect from one with such a personality, she has entered competition with an unnamed male synthetic crafter to conquer a city, which Sinter claims is a romantic pretext in areeni culture. Despite what appears to be phenomenal skill, her friend has apparently so much more so that he felt he had to handicap himself by taking a flying arcology for her to even stand a chance.
:'''Actual Name:''' Ti-kza
:'''Species:''' Saa-kru (Saa-kru Replacement Unit)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' ~83

SARU-601, or Saru as she prefers to call herself, has been maintaining the facility for a while. Originally intending to escort the obvious intruder out of the facility, Saru decided to let Sinter stay partly due to finding her ambitions something more interesting to work towards and partly out of the crippling loneliness of being by herself in the facility for sixty years. She was once biological, but an ambiguous accident vapourised her entire body. Her consciousness was salvaged and placed within a replacement robotic body, a fact she resents with some intensity. Because of the imperfect process of recovering the consciousness of a dead brain, for the majority of her time as a machine her mind was a wreck and she drifted in and out of lucidity for years unable to remember what she had been doing. Her mind has since been repaired by unknown processes. She longs dearly to be restored to who she once was, yet knows it to be impossible. She was once a talented and respected researcher at KerenzeTec, though she suspects that she's been scrubbed from the records in wake of her horrific accident. Although Sinter bit one of her antennae off earlier, she woke up one day to find it replaced, presumably by the repair drones she had slept with. This might facilitate a foreign control at some point.
==Mahari Spacers==
[[Image:Ei-face.png|thumb|left]]
===Ei===
:'''Actual Name:''' Ei
:'''Species:''' Areeni (spacer)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' Unknown

Ei is the surgeon of the Mahari. She has a radically augmented body structure, even by spacer standards, consisting of six arms (without hands), four eyes, and ears that by all accounts make even less sense than standard areeni ears to everyone but her. In fact, almost every one of her organs has been replaced at some point. She's eccentric and hyperactive, to say the least, and highly emotional or prone to abrupt changes in mood, but always extremely friendly and outgoing. She loves Tzet dearly, and was externally incubating a child of theirs before it was destroyed in the attack on their ship. Despite seeming unprofessional, Ei is actually a phenomenally skilled surgeon and biotechnologist among a society already known for being the best, and is able to grow and add new fully functional organs and even major physiological changes over the course of a day. To assist with this, her arms are apparently sharp and capable of dispensing both local anesthesia and for some reason, paint. As revealed when AOS switched IBIS control to her, she has modified her senses to the point where she literally sees the world in rainbows and has an innate sense of her internal organs. Despite her attitude towards self-modification, it is notable that most of her current modifications were actually made in reaction to the Anathema bomb that killed most of the crew of the Mahari, in order to repair and replace rapidly failing organs being attacked by the nanites which are engineered to be absolutely fatal to areeni.
{{-}}
[[Image:Tzet-face.png|thumb|left]]

===Tzet===
:'''Actual Name:''' Tzet
:'''Species:''' Areeni (spacer)
:'''Gender:''' Male
:'''Age:''' Unknown

Tzet was the first officer of the Mahari until the captain went insane. Though he also possesses noticeable modifications that seem to change daily, they are far less extreme than Ei's and are more standard in scope for a spacer. While somewhat stubborn in his spacer ways, he is substantially more stable than Ei, albeit a bit hardened, and understands that he at least partly needs to adapt to living with colonists for a while.
{{-}}
===Tsu===
:'''Actual Name:''' Tsu
:'''Species:''' Areeni (spacer)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' Unknown

Tsu was the Mahari's synthetics crafter, and Ei's best friend. After the initial attack, she was shaken and afraid of dying and never finding someone to love. Inevitably, when the already weakened ship was attacked by an invasive and infectious hivemind she was the next to be taken, and was dragged away in front of her friend, screaming as her bones were wrenched apart and her mind was violated. It's not certain how Ei will react when she eventually finds out that she didn't eventually die and has been in this state ''the entire time''. Despite this, there may still be a chance to save her, somehow.
[[Image:What-is-the-deal.png|thumb|left]]
===Mysterious Level -5 Being===
:'''Actual Name:''' Unknown
:'''Species:''' Unknown
:'''Gender:''' Unknown
:'''Age:''' Unknown

A being presumably in containment on on of the lower levels of the facility. It is known to have some degree of control over the facility's electronics, which it uses to send ominous messages. A force either the same as or extremely similar to the this one was responsible for dominating and destroying the mind of the captain of the Mahari (Ei and Tzet's ship).
{{-}}

===Alien Cultists===
:'''Organization Name:''' Unknown
:'''Species:''' Multiple unknown species

A group of aliens from outside Alliance space who apparently seek to kidnap Areeni and use their genetic material. They have been seen working together with a being that either was or exactly resembled Level-5 being, though it is unknown whether they were its masters, partners, or servants. So far they have only been seen in Ei's memories, but they are likely to show up at some point, considering their probable involvement with the Level-5 being.
{{-}}

===The Alliance===
Despite the entire world and its people being part of the Alliance, Sinter and her allies still have much to fear from their government. The Mahari was shot down and the crew are still wanted by the Alliance because of a huge misunderstanding involving the origins of the Anathema bomb that devastated their ship. A misunderstanding of the "kill them at all costs" type. Not to mention that taking over the world, even if done peacefully, is still probably extremely illegal.

===KerenzeTec===
While Saru is indeed functioning as the legitimate site administrator, her recent actions in collaboration with Sinter and the spacers is likely against protocol, and she has been blocking vector clamp access to KerenzeTec personnel offworld. They are threatening to send a team in to retake the facility if this isn't sorted out.

===The Perfect Cube===
:'''Storage Location:''' Level -1

It's a box. It's just a box.
Unless, that is, you happen to be an organic (or organic derived) intelligence, in which case it is the most perfect box ever and as you examine it you realize you need it ''need it'' NEED IT.

Fortunately the effect seems to start wearing off once the box is out of sight.
{{-}}

[[Image:Nightmare-sphere.png|thumb|left]]
===The Nightmare Sphere===
:'''Storage Location:''' Unknown

The Nightmare Sphere is a grey floating sphere. It distorts all methods of sensing (including sight) that are used in its vicinity, and the records say that nobody is to touch it under any circumstances. The being in level -5 claims that the nightmare sphere possesses further abilities that only it can use.
{{-}}

=The Story So Far=

(Going to need to think of how to split this up. I'll come back to this tomorrow.)

=Setting=

The world in question in The World Is Mine is the planet Tinvishe, an Alliance controlled and well-established colony world with diverse populations of many species and many large population centers, three of which have been detailed in the quest and one of which we have visited. It also contains the KerenzeTec Zero Station that serves as our base.

==Races==

===Areeni===
[[Image:AreeniBio.png|thumb|left]]
Areeni are a relatively humanoid race, complete with mostly analogous organs, except with claws, large swiveling ears, and a tail. They are best known for their extensive biotechnology, vast diversity, and tendency to modify their bodies to suit their needs. Note that this is not something they do at will, but instead requires surgery or other artificial methods like any other species would require. Despite this, areeni are able to do this to an extent far beyond any other species because of an immune system that is powerful yet neglects to attack benign foreign bodies such as transplanted or synthetic organs. Because of this and the fact that there is a small degree of inheritability to certain kinds of modifications, areeni can range from minor divergences from the baseline, as is the case with Sinter, distinctly different and specialized subspecies (likely from controlled evolution of populations on planets with harsh climates) such as Vibrant, or in the case of the inhibitionless culture of areeni spacers, totally alien and almost completely unrecognizable from more "normal" areeni.
{{-}}
===Saa-Kru===
[[Image:SaakruBio.png|thumb|left]]
Saa-kru have a number of insectoid features, such as mandibles and antennae, but despite this have an internal skeleton and skin. Gender is primarily apparent by coloration, with males being dark-skinned and females being light-skinned, children remaining grey until maturity. They have long butterfly-like tongues and eyes that change in color depending on emotion (though allowing for a degree of conscious control). Saa-kru also have two pairs of lungs and a decentralized cardiovascular system made of a series of small pumps that transport their grey blood. They possess six limbs, a pair of arms with three radial fingers, and two legs with similarly arranged toes. The knees appear to be on alternate sides of the front and back pairs of legs, so that they all face inward. Of notable cultural importance to the saa-kru are the pair of nonfunctional wings kept folded away on the upper back. They have intricate rainbow patterns that vary between every individual, and thus represent their identity. However, the majority of the time these wings are hidden from view, and are in fact only used for attracting mates, making them also serve a sexual symbol.
{{-}}
===Human===
As a real species that the reader is a member of, humans require little explanation. Humans are present in interstellar society and are fully integrated within it, sharing general culture and technology. Little other information is known about the role of humans in the setting, as they have yet to be encountered.
{{-}}
===Keletian===
[[Image:Keletian.png|thumb|left]]
Keletians are a currently unencountered and very secretive race. Almost all of the ones in the area live in the city of Jekiten, which suggests that they are predisposed toward academic pursuits. They lack legs and appear to propel themselves in a manner similar to snakes, despite appearing pseudomammalian. The most noteworthy aspect of keletians is their bizarre telekinetic abilities. There is little general scientific understanding of the extent of their abilities or how they might function due to their nature, as they refuse to divulge their secrets to other species.
{{-}}
===Keynain===
Almost nothing is known about the keynain as they have yet to be described except in a passing description in-quest. What is known is that they are a technology-obsessed race that prefers to live in the arcology of Crestrisen and similar places. It is mentioned that they are quite xenophobic, but it is not clear if Saru meant a hostile or a fearful type of xenophobia.
{{-}}

==Locations==
[[Image:TWIMMap.png|thumb|left]]
This is a map of the area hand-drawn by Saru because our database is corrupt.
{{-}}
===Relk===
[[Image:Relk.png|thumb|left]]
Relk is a relatively plain city to the southeast of the Zero Station. Its majority population is areeni, and it has large minorities of humans and saa-kru. Near the outskirts of the city are Vibrant's base and Ei and Tzet's downed spacecraft. The city is currently in turmoil after the areeni leader Eselrek Arklat was killed in an accident leaving his human assistant Derrick Stern to rule. The city considers him a tyrant, although it has not been revealed what has earned him this reputation. The unrest caused the vector clamps to be shut off in the city, leading to Sinter crashing an experimental aircraft into a building and leading to a citywide riot against Stern after it was mistaken for an attack. It initially appeared that there was racial tension caused by an unelected human leader coming into power over a city primarily composed of areeni, but the other races in the city, including humans, subsequently joined the mob.
{{-}}
===Crestrisen===
Crestrisen is a rather futuristic city to the southwest of the Zero Station. The city is designed as an arcology and has engines that originally enabled it to hover above the ground, though they have not been used in sometime because they are a rather major waste of energy. The city is known for its heavy industry and technology, and is populated by a vast majority of keynain.
{{-}}
===Jekiten===
Jekiten is a city to the northeast of the Zero Station known for scholarship and academia. Not much information is given about its primary population, but almost all of the keletians nearby live here.
Unless, that is, you happen to be an organic (or organic derived) intelligence, in which case it is the most perfect box ever and as you examine it you realize you need it ''need it'' NEED IT.
Fortunately the effect seems to start wearing off once the box is out of sight.
===The Nightmare Sphere===

{{-}}

==Races==

===Areeni===
{{-}}
===Saa-Kru===
{{-}}
===Human===
As a real species that the reader is a member of, humans require little explanation. Humans are present in interstellar society and are fully integrated within it, sharing general culture and technology. Little other information is known about the role of humans in the setting, as they have yet to be encountered.
{{-}}
===Keletian===
{{-}}
===Keynain===
{{-}}

==Locations==
[[Image:TWIMMap.png|thumb|left]]
This is a map of the area hand-drawn by Saru because our database is corrupt.
{{-}}
===Relk===
{{-}}
===Crestrisen===
{{-}}
===Jekiten===
Jekiten is a city to the northeast of the Zero Station known for scholarship and academia. Not much information is given about its primary population, but almost all of the keletians nearby live here.
A bunch of operators are guiding a cute engineer girl (#6172-531-541, callsign "Weasel") dropshipped on an inhabited yet not colonized world. Her objectives are vague at best.
Armed with nothing more than a plankpack, a shovel and wisdom of her orbital supervisors, she begins her exploration.
Also, she has an A-cup.

The new world, Parsson-4, holds its own secrets, and bad things start happening almost right off the bat. A team of operators back at HQ tries to give her a leg up and send down some tools, but instead have to struggle with bureaucracy, coverups, and the fact that the whole scenario is looking more and more like a game of [[Minecraft]] gone horribly <strike>wrong</strike> right.
The quest begins to become more convoluted when the organization begins to insist that Weasel's spaceship crashed, and that she died in the impact, meaning that they're trying to hide something, or prevent us from helping her. Or perhaps this Weasel isn't actually real.
===Roz===
Roz is a dreamworm that Venji met fairly early in her adventure. He's also somewhat perverted and likes her furry form. He melded with her at some point and now lives in her, offering a few benefits. It has been repeatedly noted that he is not much like a normal dreamworm, being magic for one thing, and it has been speculated that he might be something else altogether.

A [[Races|race]] of birdlike people. Appeared for the first time in [[Journey Quest]]. Created by [[Lucid]]

==Appearance and Racial Features==
[[Image:NedynvorFM.png|thumb|right|A female and a male Nedynvor.]]

According to Journey Quest, Nedynvor are large avian humanoids that hail from the Island of the Great Sky Dragon. They are tall, long necked creatures with long, wide, wing-like arms that end in broad flat fingers. Males possess an extra finger in the form of a sharp claw-like index finger, they possess the same bones as a female, except rather than having two sets of phalanges in each finger, the male's have one set that breaks away to form the finger claw. Their tails are long and typically end in 3 or more prongs. Their tails also split along the prongs and spread out into a large tail wing. The male's tails possess colorful and intricate patterns across their plumage which is used for intimidation and to attract mates. Their legs end in sharp blade like extensions made up of a combination of bone and keratin, which has to be kept sharp for hygene purposes. On the back of their head, Nedynvor possess an organ that collects additional oxygen supplying it to their brain, this allows them to function properly in areas with low oxygen content, such as very high altitudes. Their tongue is long and prehensile, extending up to five feet from their mouth at full maturity. At the end of the tongue a small, hard tip is capable of delivering a potent bio-electric shock, used for stunning food. Atop their head is a surprisingly hard plate of keratin that protects their cranium.

Nedynvor are insectivores, primarily dining on large insects, grubs, and worms collected with their long tongues. Nedynvor society revolves around their island, which is actually a very large living creature. The Great Sky Dragon, as it is known, relentlessly soars through the skies only landing in the ocean once a year, for the span of one month, to feed and rest. During this time the island is swarmed by Kren merchants seeking to acquire exotic Nedynvor wares, and sell their own to the inhabitants. The Nedynvor maintain the Great Sky Dragon; plucking parasitic insects, keeping order on the land located on its back, and even casting their dead into feeding pits. Nedynvor don't really actively worship any given deity. They acknowledge the “Great Dragon” (the flying island) and refer to it much in the same way as other races would acknowledge their own God(s). When a Nedynvor dies on the island, their body is prepared, and then a procession takes them to a “Feeding Pit,” which is actually a secondary mouth for the Great Dragon, in a ritual symbolizing the Nedynvor being returned from whence they came.
===[[Journey Quest]]===

Demesi of Angoldas - A young Nedynvor lad, who on his first solo trip away from his home island, awakes to find himself mysteriously at the bottom of a pit inside a cave. Completely out of his element, and not knowing anything about how the world outside his island works, he sets about exploring the tunnels, looking for a way home. Upon finding the cave to have been somehow sealed, he is left with no recourse but to venture further into the depths of the cave. A Kren merchant set up in the cave system informs him of a nearby Lohrke settlement. Demesi sets out to seek their aid to get himself back home.

===[[DiveQuest]]===

Ashedel - A female Nedynvor. Commanded a presence at the Tower of Olber. First appeared in Chapter Seven, where she lost a game of cards and a sword duel to Muschio. After which they had sex. Which lead to a small controversy. There is also a controversy regarding Ashedel looks, since prior to them being featured in [[DiveQuest]], [[Weaver]] made no attempt to contact [[Lucid]] about how the females look like. And thus Ashedel doesn't resemble a real female Nedynvor.

===[[MudyQuest]]===

A Nedynvor/[[Volto]] hybrid was featured in one of the chapters. It caused some disruption due to [[Reaver]] misplacing [[Nedynvor]] author as [[Weaver]], because it was featured in [[DiveQuest]]. The character was grievously injured after the realization... then the quest went on hiatus.
A Nedynvor named footsies that was a Death Row inmate was featured shortly. He was promptly killed by Ridder.
AKA: Childhood Trauma Quest. HatchQuest follows the stories of Little One (Hatch) and her father Liam as they are caught in the middle of a civil war of sorts in their hometown: those who wish to continue proclaiming independence and those who want to simply submit to the Sergal Clan Shigu and hope for the best.

HatchQuest / Childhood Trauma Quest is authored by [[Beakie]].

HatchQuest was one of the earliest quests on TGChan. It ran for one short thread, then went inactive for three months. In September 2009, Beakie surprised TGChan by picking up in a new thread where the last ended, and has subsequently completed multiple chapters.

It has been put back on hiatus while the author tries to get out of his block with a new quest.

==Characters==

===Little One (Hatch)===
[[Image:Happyhatch.png|thumb|left|She's always like this]]
A little Nevrean girl that has no name, later nicknamed Hatch by Ikar. Her past up to this point could be considered fairly normal, growing up on a ranch in the southeastern Tatola. Her town was planned around an underground ruin where her fellow nevreans try to recover various forms of lost technology. One day, her father tells her they are going on a trip, and her adventure through the forest begins.
{{-}}
===Liam===
[[Image:Liamgun.png|thumb|left]]
Hatch's father. He is part of the movement in his town that wishes to be annexed into the Shigu clan, and as a messenger, is selected to deliver the treaty that would submit their town to Clan Shigu rule. He seems to have a past friendship with Aruuchi Nira and his tribe, a scouting party for Clan Shigu. He and Aruuchi are later seperated from Ikar and Hatch, where they try to take a detour through some ruins to avoid an enemy attack and Hatch and Ikar take a straight route towards the Clan Shigu fortress. The plan backfires and it turns out Ikar and Hatch were lucky to head straight to the fort, as the Agudner who killed some of Aruuchi's tribe are within the ruins themselves. To make matters worse, Dekustir and Radou, a pair of researchers, have sealed all the entrances and exits, demanding that they make their way to the bottom for a message of some sort.
{{-}}
===Ikar Nira===
[[Image:Ikar.png|thumb|left]]
Hatch's "new best friend" and companion through the forest. She is young and naive, though the principles and values of Clan Shigu are already ingrained in her mind. Even so, she is a mischievous child, playing pranks and eating people's shoes.
{{-}}
===Aruuchi Nira===
An alien recieves a ball in the mail, which immediately starts talking to him. The ball, which is some kind of manifestation of Quest, can apparently do anything as long as it has enough "impulse weight" from suggesters. It features several races of aliens with imaginative biologies and social structures and can be anywhere from vastly intriguing to vastly amusing. By [[Toastline]].

=Synopsis=
Narus, recently having started a mandatory vacation, receives a strange grey ball with glowing patterns on it. Voices speak to him through it. He takes it to his tinker friend Anciu, who determines that it is probably an hyperdimensional object of some kind. The voices make a request to plug into a source of information, so Anciu makes a device to remotely connect to the Transcomputer Network, and the voices surf the web for a little while. Their porn adventures are cut short just before they actually see any, because they somehow receive an image of a creature in Narus' room and one of them breaks off to alert Narus and Anciu. Narus departs in case the creature is after him, going to a shopping district place. He buys a Steve-influenced outfit and some food. Before he can eat, he is interrupted by a strong, brief magnetic interference (he and Anciu had felt something similar while he was at Anciu's, but much more weakly). When he starts eating, he notices that Basse is sitting nearby and they have a brief discussion. At a combination of /quest/'s behest and his own thoughts, he goes to an electronics store, and from there heads to the spaceport. He calls Basse and mentions the thing that had been in his house earlier. A voice speaks up and changes the shape of the voiceball into a small mobile robot thing, taking Narus by surprise.

...

A bunch of other things have happened since then, but here's a highlight:

<Shiitake> I'm somewhat ashamed that during the giant leg lick we intruded upon Narus's private parts

As the one running the quest, I have to say I think that is a good response. At the same time, I'm amused that such a comment is something that would even come up. Also, D:

The quest is out of continuity with [http://www.quizilla.com/stories/8861211/flight-of-the-megasus Flight of the Megasus], and takes place around ten Earth years before it.
====Expand historical entry 512.====
Presently we know alien life forms exist. Probably no one is alive today who was alive before we knew this; it's become a fact of life. Thanks to the Cramakc, our first contact, we are part of an enormous intergalactic community! Our naturally helpful tendencies left us well-equipped to work things out between their representatives and ours. It wasn't all smooth going, though...

When the Cramakc came in their vessels, no one knew what to expect. They had tried to send transmissions, but something blocked them. Surveillance equipment saw them coming and we prepared for the worst, while hoping for the best. The government had already picked its finest minds in the fields of theoretical xenopsychology, biology, linguistics, and statistical analysis, along with others. The Cramakc were already advanced enough that they didn't have to worry about us doing anything harmful to them, and they knew it. The aesthetic of their technology's was definitely an influence on us. Their tendency to make items whose appearance does not belie their function caused a stark contrast to our own items. The idea caught on very well in the public, giving rise to the popularity of appliances and architecture with hidden panels, buttons, niches, and so on. At the time, their tools were simply confusing.

Now that we embrace the aesthetic, we confuse aliens who sees our [produced things] too. By using certain conventions in construction, we can make it intuitive to discover what an object does, for those who know what to look for. People realized very quickly after the style became widespread that it could get out of hand very quickly (which it did), and the then-active acting group, "We Want You To Watch Us," performed a sketch featuring the idea on their television programme.

The Cramakc themselves rarely appear on Uis anymore. Their influence is still all over our planet: The phones we use to communicate intraplanetarily and interplanetarily are their technology. The translation implants that are so ubiquitous now are actually here by the Wilthes' courtesy, but without the Cramakc we would'nt have those either. ...
====547-First known evidence of extradimensional matter discovered====
Hyperdimensional matter. How do you discover it? From the looks of things, the best answer seems to be that you don't, unless it comes to you. And you had better be careful if it does. Many of the predictions came true: it can have effectively infinite mass, for example. Lucky for us, the first matter of this sort had finite mass, was in space, and had a seeming resistance to spassitudinal motion. It was the remnants of a vessel, most likely from our own universe.

We only know this much because of a helpful extradimensional person who arrived later, and gave us a few extradimensional tools with which we could observe the ship fully, with instruction for their use.
To date only three extradimensional persons are known to have visited Uis, but their very existence has shaped our understanding of the nature of our universe, and to some degree the nature of many more.

Along with the observational tools, the first of these people came a simple device for storing objects in a space with an extra axis, the technology behind which has been immensely useful in saving room. She would not explain the workings of these. The second such person helped greatly refine what we knew about higher dimensions, but was reluctant to show us anything new. With his help, we were able to replicate the devices given to us by the first. These first two hyperdimensional people never revealed their names, but the third has given us the name "Dessen" to call it by.

It has declined to give us new technology, but has revealed the existence of other universes and demonstrated things that defy our understanding of our own. Examples include spontaneous generation of wormholes, and its ability to alter the physical properties of itself and other objects, such as gravity and even temperature (which is particularly baffling), by methods which could not be identified. It has only appeared in the last [~1 decade], and not all of Uis has heard of it, for various reasons. There has been speculation about its intentions, particularly after the Epicentral government said that it sometimes walks among us, but does not reveal itself. We do know that it was created as an observational tool, by an extrauniversal civilisation that we can only assume exists from Dessen's testimony. It claims that they seek perfection in all things, and that it is part of this process. The possibility of other universes has ben a topic of fiction and discussion for millenia, so having confirmation of their existence raises many questions, scientific and philosophical. That's a little beyond the scope of this text, though.
====The Complete Works of "Merrito"====
(need image from http://tgchan.org/kusaba/quest/res/85235.html#136499)

"Merrito" was the pseudonym of Lakan 13 Left, a great artist and pornographer. The field of pornography was already very old and still underdeveloped when he started, but with such a low interest by the general public, he felt had to really get creative. Most pornography beforehand was very simplistic, just showing the acts of sex, but Merrito was not satisfied with this, opting for a more unique presentation style.

picture displayed: Spectrum #4.image fidelity will not be perfect.

The "Spectrum" series features rainbowlike arrangements of multiple subjects, such as the one shown here. The shine on the eyes is visible due to the use of an As-Eye camera with Extraspectral settings. Merrito possessed the Extraspectral vision trait, and felt that others should see his works as close to the way he did as possible. This influence is also present in many of his paintings.

Not all of his art was pornographic. Even so, that is what he is most well-known for. Though he did not succeed in making sexually explicit works popular, he still gave us some pretty and sometimes thought-provoking things to look at. In this ["book"] is a roughly chronological sequence of all of "Merrito"'s known pieces, accompanied by background information, and sometimes commentary by Merrito himself. We hope you will enjoy it.
====The Sexual Act(modern, named after the ancient writ)====
If you're reading this, you probably want to learn some things about sex. Great! But don't expect everything to be explained here; there are some things you have to learn on your own. Some of the techniques herein may not be the best for your partner or yourself, so you are encouraged to experiment. This ["book"] only deals with sex between Silirw of the same species, but some principles can be applied outside of that. Now, let's get on with it.
Images are captioned: "These torso skeleton sketches are by an alien scholar, and are inexact. They are also not to scale."
The bone structure is one of the most differing parts of Cyral and Enial anatomies. Cyral bones are more numberous, less flexible, and plate-based. Enial bones are fewer, quite flexible, and more rounded. The Enials, of course, also have wings, which require additional structures near the base of the skull to attach. In both, the brains are encased with several openings for blood flow and transmission of information. The heart is also encased similarly. The gonads, which are held internally, have protective bones which prevent entry of foreign objects from certain angles.

The flexible, simple skeleton of the Enial (the skeleton shown here is an hermaphrodite, <nowiki>[[for the record]]</nowiki>) allows them to perform contortions that would break a Cyral. Both are capable of <nowiki>[[an extreme frontbend]]</nowiki>, but only Enials can reverse their posture, such that (to demonstrate) their wings are positioned below their eyes, with their mouth now above their eyes. ...
===Anatomy and culture===

One of the earlest problems encountered in our history was how to count. It may seem simple, but remember that there are more ways to count than we can count. At the earliest times, the Enials counted on their fingers. When it came time for the Cyrals, there was a problem- a different number of fingers on each hand! The common ancestor, we now know, had 2 digits to its 6 limbs. In the precursor-Cyrals, the middle limb split along the middle, joining with the two beside it.

(need image from http://tgchan.org/kusaba/quest/res/85235.html#152831)

Many numbering systems were considered before a base-based system, the duodecimal system we use today, was finally settled upon. Of course, no one really counts on their digits anymore except as an occasional mental aid. image is accompanied by the text, "The symbol of a stylised Enial hand with its fingers between a similar Cyral hand has become synonymous with mathematics, nature, and unity."

The ridgeflaps at the side of the Enial's upper body, from behind the eyes to the base of the wings, can be used to suspend things from, such as jewellery. This is a fairly common practice which arose independently in multiple regions. Sometimes pieces of dirt can become stuck in the ridgeflaps and cause irritation and other problems. Stretching beyond the earliest recorded history, people have come up with devices for cleaning them.

Several past cultures had come up with an idiom involving the cleaning of one's ridgeflaps, though they were not intended for the same contexts. The modern Enial Language 1 contains a variation along the lines of "maybe <nowiki>[[he/se/she]]</nowiki> is cleaning <nowiki>[[his/hir/her]]</nowiki> ridgeflaps," to be used when someone is busy with some unknown task. ...
[[Image:EmmaLabCoat.jpg|thumb|left|Emma Sari]]

Emma is a construct from a mysterious facility located underground. She was sent out because the 'brain' controlling the place was bored. Her face is supposed to be an amalgam of all of the races that are known by the "brain," and thus look attractive to anyone she meets, but it ended up looking fairly grotesque to everyone. She knows nothing about the world.
He meets an Illithid slaver and travels with him for a bit, attempting to enslave some Goblins, but failing to capture most of them. He ends up getting left on foot and is later confronted by Dribliza, one of the goblins he failed to catch, who takes his keyboard and demands he help release the rest of the villagers.

He charms the owner, Kreeg, into letting him have some stuff. He then starts exploring the nearby ruins, where he discovers a mysteriously placed motorcycle on the second floor. He encounters Dribliza once again and convinces her to join him, but she still hasn't given him back his keyboard. They explore a flooded dwarf fortress and loot some gems, and find the other side of the mysterious locked door, which contains the remains of a Sergal that may have a connection to Heshka. At the end they have Kreeg construct a sidecar for the motorcycle out of an old bathtub.

'''[http://www.tgchan.org/kusaba/questarch/res/54766.html Mission One: The Enigmatic Spirit]'''
Imli sets off into the Underground to do some exploring and investigate mysterious disappearances. She encounters an Illithid slaver and proceeds to blow his torso off. She then rescues the goblins he has captured, who are all young females, and returns them to their village. There's a troll in the way but she vaporizes its head. She gets a new shirt and a Goblin tracker, who helps her find the troll's egg. She trades it for a strange creature that appears to be a collection of dreadlocks with a closed eye in the middle.

'''[http://tgchan.org/kusaba/quest/res/262574.html Mission Two: Instruments of Destruction]''' Imli ventures upriver and finds a dwarven hell-pit digging project that seems to have somehow unearthed a spaceship that's still in space. Exploring it she finds the corpses of dead giant alien creatures and all sorts of crazy things, as well as being all but traumatized by looking out the window of the craft and seeing the emptiness of the void of space, something that her claustrophillic race has likely not encountered, needing special equipment to even visit the surface. She escapes when she finds that the rest of the ship is sealed off by a vacuum breach and gets all scared because of the suggesters worrying about explosive decompression.
'''[http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questarch/res/70887.html Mission One: Tears of the Dragon]'''
Beautiful Flarey, most wonderful of all dragons, is in the process of robbing another of her species for his treasure but miscalculates an attack and ends up with ice in her eyes while the dragon escapes because her ogre manservant was sleeping outside. She explores the dragon's cavern in an attempt to salvage some loot out of the ordeal, but instead finds a mysterious organic valve that leads to the fantastic city of Maiesio. There she encounters the hideous but friendly Maiesiobolds and Maiesioblins. She takes a bath, and loses her virginity to a strange creature in the process. She meets a Lohrke, Rini and chats with the citizenry for a bit before meeting one of the city's "Mothers," a large feminine creature that speaks through a strange telepathic servant. She's invited to supper with the Mothers, who the city's cult are centered on, but figures out that they want to eat her and escapes after Rini accidentally drops a gas grenade in the middle of a riverwalk because she was holding it wrong.
Growing up was hard for her, but she grew very strong and takes out her aggression on other members of her species as revenge for what she endured. Another strange ability that comes with her mutation is the ability to breathe both fire and ice, but the ice causes her to become violently ill afterwards. She has a fondness for cheese, and frequently cannot control herself when eating it; leading to her rotund behind occasionally getting lodged in tight spaces. Her entire hoard has been made into expensive jewelry that she wears at all times, so that none can take it from her.

A few tranquilizer darts later he wakes up in an A34 Animal Containment Unit, unaware of how he knows what one of those is. Turns out Panacians are being bred/captured and/or enslaved for use as maintenance drones and test subjects by races of tall lizard-y/pangolin-y things and big footed, hoodie wearing, things. He makes a friend and finds out that he is unique in not having been "programmed" to obey his masters yet, and thus can still escape. Despite this he goes straight to one of the scientists and gets selected for an experiment in which instead of actually following along he starts injecting himself with all manner of upgrade nanites. And it looks like they don't tend to survive the experiments. Good luck, Slayd.
=Overview=
The Scellor are a mostly hive-minded race, but some of their members become individuals for a lifetime or two every so often when they get bored. One such Scellor decides to reincarnate as a worker-caste engineer, names herself Maolla Syrup, and then determines to become a space pirate.

Before becoming a space pirate she needs money and respect, though, so she signs up for a mining crew prospecting the vastness of space for psykonium, an incredibly valuable psychic-enhancing mineral. Naturally, after some time working on the ship something goes horribly wrong and it's up to Maolla to figure out what it is and fix it- even when that means saving the rest of the crew, repairing the ship in dangerous conditions, and fighting off mind-controlled space doobies.
She is wildly successful and then everyone has an orgy.
They run into fluffy birds and a couple of pony dudes and continue with the adorable hijinks (hijinikis?) that the original quest is known for. Deep is a [[quest]] by [[ClockworkSeal]] about an indahl girl who wakes up in a cave with nothing but a mysterious gear and the clothes on her back. The quest begins to get, one might say, DEEPER, as she discovers more and more mysterious places and secrets that she may very well be in the center of without even knowing it.

=Overview=
Deep's an artistic, exploration-based quest run by ClockworkSeal.

Ven awakes with no recollection of who she is or how she got there. With nothing but a clockwork gear inexplicably found on her person, Ven must venture into the Deep.

=Characters=

==Ven==
(Player Chracter) Cute Indahl girl

==Telwis==
Cute fluffy Mok guy

=Other Chracters=

==Telmes==
Telmes is a Mok scholar used as an in chracter poster on the [[Inside the Quest]] threads to answer any questions about the Deep.

==Nev==
Nev is an unrelated character who featured prominently in many pchat sketches while ClockworkSeal was developing the setting. His oft-ill-fated travels have been worked into the 'official' canon of the setting as a folktale told about a young Indahl who set off into the depths alone on a fool's errand.

After one of the various sketches of Nev in an unfortunate situation (having been captured by some unseen entity), there sprang a massive quantity of porn involving him, for which he came to be known.

His tale is briefly mentioned by Telmes in the 'Inside the Quest' thread.

=Plot Summary=

==Part 1==

The story begins with the player character, Ven, waking up in an underground pond. The reader quickly learns that Ven has no recollection of who she is or where she's come from; the only hint to her history up to that point is a gear she was clutching at the time. After a little exploration, Ven finds a deep chasm with a broken rope bridge, a length of chain at the bottom of the pond, and a mysterious vial. In the process, she's bitten by a strange fish. She then uses the length of chain to climb down the chasm, but it doesn't quite go far enough to reach the entrance below. Ven is ultimately forced to clamber into the lower tunnel when the post she secured her chain to snaps, nearly sending her plummeting into the chasm.

(( More to come ))

==Part 2==

==Part 3==

=Setting=
Set in the world of Khamon.

The world is at a fairly low technological level overall, the highest technology around is the divinely-inspired clockwork. Clockwork has a number of fantastical applications beyond those of real-world clockwork. Magic does exist within the setting, but is difficult, uncommon, and requires certain components to work which lead to it not being used as a technological equivalent.

The year in Deep is shorter at 300 days (which are, individually, the same length).

===Races===

===Indahl===
can hold breath fo long time....happy in the water but not amphibous....have underdeveloped teeth makes eating tricky....diet consistis of soups and aquatic plants....face markings denote tribe....mostly dwell in their own villages but some live in cities....have long fingers and a tail....very dextrous and famed for their clockwork...low light vision....somewhat frail, not the best at physical activities

===Mok===
Short...furry...Longest lived of the races (80-90 years)

===Other Races===
The following races have been breifly described by Telwis:

The Sado are a bunch of big guys, but they're usually pretty friendly. They're spread around quite a bit.

The Oldon are mostly nomads, but a few of them live in the cities and towns. Telwis has never met one, but he's heard that they're very strange.

The Bzzers are just odd. Telwis has met a few, but never really tried to talk with them. He doesn't know much about them either.

Most races live to an upper limit of about 60, though some live shorter and some live longer, barring the intervention of violence

=Trivia=
* Because of the sudden ending and lack of updates Deep was first considered to be a one-off quest.
* Due to their similar art styles and setting many Anons belived (some still do) that Deep and [[Journey]] were somehow related
* Bothe Ven and Telwis are availble as chracters in the tg [[Strip Poker]] project
* Deep was the first quest on tgchan to use a much higher quality artwork

'''NEO SEX MALL''' is the tale of Pektil, a young Mok who, after being exiled from his village after losing both of his parents (and totally not for owning a dragon dildo), sets out to make himself HUGE so he can protect the people he cares for. His destination? The SEX MALL, an extra-dimensional mall specializing in more erotic wares than your average mall. However, the definition of "HUGE" in the SEX MALL is completely different than what Pektil is expecting. After a few mishaps and embarrasments, he meets Sommer, a... creature that has lived in the sex mall for her whole life. A beautiful friendship is subsequently formed.

Neo Sex Mall has an interesting mechanic similar to quests such as [[This Is A Story]] in which, in addition to suggesting character actions, suggesters can also write background events and characters and in some cases major events in their suggestions.

=Cameos=
Because of the user content driven mechanics of the quest, there have been several cameos of both specific characters and species from other quests and settings, which the author allows. For reasons likely involving inside jokes of Bite doing porn of [[Cirr|Cirr's]] characters, there has been heavy use of them.
A quest by [[Cirr]]. Someone is in a derelict facility that is filled with a variety of deadly abominations and is controlled by an unstable AI. Except this time you are the AI, and the goal is taking over the world.
[[Image:Sinter-face.png|thumb|left]]
===Sinter===
:'''Actual Name:''' Unknown
:'''Species:''' Areeni (post-baseline)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' Unknown

Sinter arrived at the KerenzeTec facility and managed to infiltrate as far as its core AI room at the very beginning of the quest.

{{-}}
[[Image:Saru-face.png|thumb|left]]
===SARU-601===

{{-}}
[[Image:Vibrant-face.png|thumb|left]]

===Vibrant===
:'''Actual Name:''' Unknown
:'''Species:''' Areeni (amphibious positive)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' Unknown

Very little is known about Vibrant at this point. She apparently has a great proficiency in the crafting of "synthetics", engineered artificial organisms with an intended purpose to be served over their lifetime, and has usually been seen with at least one of her creations nearby. She also appears relatively meek and shy, and appears to be locked in a competition with an unnamed male synthetic crafter.
==Working To Their Own Aims==
[[Image:Ei-face.png|thumb|left]]
===Ei===
:'''Actual Name:''' Probably Ei
:'''Species:''' Areeni (spacer)
:'''Gender:''' Female
:'''Age:''' Unknown

One of two areeni spacers encountered by Sinter. Possesses "augmented skin" and "subcutaneous webbing", as well as six limbs, four eyes, and ears that by all accounts make even less sense than standard areeni ears. In fact, almost every one of her organs has been replaced at some point. She's eccentric and hyperactive, to say the least, and highly emotional or prone to abrupt changes in mood, but always extremely friendly and outgoing. She loves Tzet dearly, and was gestating a child with him before it was destroyed when their ship crashed. (Although spacers tend to be very open to multiple relationships; she wanted to have sex with Sinter to gain her trust.) Despite seeming unprofessional, Ei is actually a world-class surgeon and bioengineer, previously responsible for all of the medical work on her ship, and able to grow and add new fully functional organs and even radical physiological changes over the course of a day. To assist with this, her arms are apparently sharp and capable of dispensing both local anesthesia and for some reason, paint. As revealed when AOS switched IBIS control to her, she has modified her senses to the point where she literally sees the world in rainbows and has an innate sense of her internal organs.
{{-}}
[[Image:Tzet-face.png|thumb|left]]

===Tzet===
:'''Actual Name:''' Probably Tzet
:'''Species:''' Areeni (spacer)
:'''Gender:''' Male
:'''Age:''' Unknown

The other one of two areeni spacers encountered by Sinter. Possesses eyestalks, weird head gill things, tentacle arms and a variety of jutting spikes near the tip of his tail. Seems slightly more responsible than Ei, and cares deeply about her.
===Mysterious Level -5 Being===
:'''Actual Name:''' Unknown
:'''Species:''' Unknown
:'''Gender:''' Unknown
:'''Age:''' Unknown

A being presumably in containment on on of the lower levels of the facility. It is known to have some degree of control over the facility's electronics, which it uses to send ominous messages. A force either the same as or extremely similar to the this one was responsible for dominating and destroying the mind of the captain of the Mahari (Ei and Tzet's ship).
{{-}}

===Alien Cultists===

===The Nightmare Sphere===

==Races==

===Areeni===
Because of this and the fact that there is a small degree of inheritability to certain kinds of modifications, areeni can range from minor divergences from the baseline, as is the case with Sinter, distinctly different and specialized subspecies (likely from controlled evolution of populations on planets with harsh climates) such as Vibrant, or in the case of the totally inhibitionless culture of areeni spacers, totally alien and almost completely unrecognizable from more "normal" areeni.
{{-}}
===Saa-Kru===
{{-}}
===Human===
As a real species that the reader is a member of, humans require little explanation. Humans are present in interstellar society and are fully integrated within it, sharing general culture and technology. Little other information is known about the role of humans in the setting, as they have yet to be encountered.
{{-}}
===Keletian===
{{-}}
===Keynain===
{{-}}

==Locations==
[[Image:TWIMMap.png|thumb|left]]
This is a map of the area hand-drawn by Saru because our database is corrupt.
{{-}}
===Relk===
{{-}}
===Crestrisen===
{{-}}
===Jekiten===
Jekiten is a city to the northeast of the Zero Station known for scholarship and academia. Not much information is given about its primary population, but almost all of the keletians nearby live here.
Adventures of a robot bunny cook. Or something like that.

The quest protagonist is an android named Clara. She lives in a post-apocalyptic world, and after years of attempting to keep a barbecue prepared for guests who never come because they were killed by bombs or a super-plague launched in response to an alien invasion, eventually decides to abandon her last set of orders and attempt to repair her decaying systems.
An android made to look like a rabbit (it is illegal to make them look human) and owned as a personal servant by her human master before the war. She is a capable cook, servant, and maid, and has some rudimentary stealth and companion mods. After decades of preparing burgers for giant roaches, she, like many of the other machines, started to adapt to her new world and stop obeying the orders of a human that would never come.
==Jeanne==
{{questart|287693|board=quest|caption=Jeanne}}
A highly customized spiderlike android still futilely caring for her long-deceased master, upon being informed by Clara of her master's state, she is distraught, but cannot come with Clara because her power source relies on a charging station, unlike Clara's which can burn organic fuels like food.
==Jacob==
{{questart|317564|board=quest|caption=Jacob}}
A human who inexplicably survived the war and plague, and possibly the only one. He cares for Jayce and lives trying to survive. He is wary of being found out about by the military, which may imply that there are things he isn't telling us, or he may just be worried about his illegal android. He's a proficient mechanic, and has only grown more so from learning to survive after the apocalypse.

==Jayce==
{{questart|351882|board=quest|caption=Jayce}}
Jacob's extremely customized and slightly insane canine android companion, who is filled to the brim with illegal modifications and settings, and has grown quite unstable from them. She has a collection of companion modules in an attempt to fulfill her dream of becoming sexy, which she repeatedly insists that Clara help her with. She has occasionally answered questions in the discussion thread and occasionally skirts around the fourth wall there.
'''Herbert vs. Happiness''' is a quest about what seems to be a man named Herbert who is locked inside some kind of ragdoll-like bodysuit. He is trapped in a facility for unknown reasons, with no memory from his life before it, though he seems to fantasize that he's the deposed king of France. He was treated well by the staff until one day they vanished and left him behind to die, so he breaks out of his room. But this soon turns out to be something far different from an asylum or a prison, as the monsters and machinery reveal.

{{Spoilers}}
=Characters=
==Herbert==
{{questart|228097|board=questarch|caption=Herbert and Friend}}
What appears to be a man trapped in a tight-fitting suit, he's a bit short to be a French monarch. He's somewhat unreliable in his recollections, but is rather friendly. As the story progresses, however, evidence begins to mount that he's not what he initially appears when he accidentally cuts himself and starts bleeding black fluid.

At the end of chapter three, Herbert sustains critical injuries, and Isabel unlocks his suit to reveal the secret of who he really is: [http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questarch/src/129806484370.gif (Major spoiler)]

==Friend==
{{questart|228091|board=questarch|caption=Herbert meets Friend}}
The quest begins with Herbert receiving a doll in his dropchute, who he decides to name friend. Friend is the embodiment of Quest, and is able to talk directly to Herbert when they're touching. In chapter 4, Herbert is incapacitated, and it is revealed that Friend is able to have an influence over Isabel as well, though more indirectly by giving her urges to do the requested actions. Friend is also likely more than it seems, because a monster was injured when it grabbed us.

==Isabel==
{{questart|340898|board=quest|caption=Isabel, in danger again}}
Isabel is some kind of dog person Herbert finds locked in a cage in chapter 1. Though she is initially scared of him, she comes to trust him as a close friend. Though it is implied by the facility having been run by humans that whatever she is isn't a normal thing, she is of a different nature than most of the entities here, and was made deathly sick by a chemical that both Herbert and Happiness were unaffected by. Other than being a dog, she seems to be the most normal person in the quest.

==Happiness==
{{questart|229783|board=questarch|caption=The monster attacks}}
The primary antagonist of chapters 1-3, referred to by suggesters as Happiness because of the quest title, although considering that the logo on everything also says Happiness, this is likely a misnomer. Happiness is some kind of shadow monster that eats heads, and seems to be vulnerable to bright light. After fighting it in chapter 3 it is presumed to be dead, although this is not confirmed.
[[Image:Kata.png|thumb|left]]
[[Image:KataNoHelmet.png|thumb|left]]
===Kata22ti===
'''Code:''' TG-CN-001

The first drone to be created and led by the subsystem group TG-CN, Kata is a well-trained engineer with a large amount of survival knowledge, but completely hopeless when it comes to combat. She is eager, helpful, filled with respect for her superiors and more than a little naive. She also possesses an iron will - despite every hardship she has suffered so far, her faith in those she trusts is enough to drive her onward.
She also has a small monitor inside her back, which is acting as a means for the monitors to communicate with her whenever she is under mental duress.
[[Image:Tene.png|thumb|left]]
===Tene157ot===
'''Code:''' CR-8T-203

A medic with some marksmanship skills, Tene is typically calm, collected, and approaches his work with a clinical efficiency, regardless of whether that work is patching someone up after a combat or shooting a robot until it doesn't move any more. He tends to spend spare time lost deep in thought, using the enhanced cognition systems in his helmet to their fullest. He was once a member of a drone revolution, which collapsed for unspecified reasons.
{{-}}
[[Image:Seto.png|thumb|left]]
===Seto96n===
'''Code:''' CR-8T-205

The leader of the team assembled for Kata's first mission. Cantankerous, cynical and relatively the last drone anyone would expect to be chosen to motivate and lead a team, Seto clearly knows more than he is letting on about the various hidden secrets of the complex and their factions. Appears to have some connection to the monitors.
{{-}}
[[Image:Rito.png|thumb|left]]
===Rito112a===
'''Code:''' CR-8T-178

A drone who thinks highly of herself and her skills, Rito considers a great deal of what she encounters a minimal threat, and has a tendency to charge recklessly into situations she feels able to deal with. She thinks highly of the few drones she considers trustworthy.
===Commander 48===
A rebel machine who stole top secret weapon plans from its own creator, modified them, and aims to use this weapon - a means to change drones into crazed monsters - to build its own army. Considers itself a "creator of new life in a complex of recycled, archaic designs". Just a little crazy. May or may not be dead.
A member of a species that lives solely within the systems of the complex, known as "system space", !!9-33 ran from its home after its parent helped it to escape, and has been fleeing ever since. Now has a body in real space, thanks to Kata's advanced engineering skills and a storeroom full of parts.
{{-}}
[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Seri68oa===
The first of six drones to be subjected to Commander 48's weapon. A combination of the weapon and her regenerative nanomachines caused Seri to lose control of her body and grow to fill the room. After the room was subjected to a subspace explosion, Seri was able to regain control over her body and fight off the slow death she may otherwise have faced.
{{-}}
[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Deba97t===
The only survivor apart from Seri of the drones affected by 48's weapon. Relatively quiet, primarily because he is unable to speak coherently. With a damaged body as he slowly succumbs to 48's weapon, his future is uncertain.
===Mission 1===
Something something something how the hell did Kata not die horribly
{{-}}

=Setting=

==Factions==
[[Image:Centralnetwork.png|thumb|left]]
===Central Network===
Central Network's long-term plans are unknown beyond either defeating or outright destroying Network Prime. It creates cyborgs it calls drones based off of sapient organisms grown in its home sector, merged with cybernetics. It seems to be blissfully unaware that most of its drones either dislike, hate or actively outright work against it. It is composed of multiple subsystems which are themselves stand alone minds, making Central Network at once an individual intelligence and a collective at the same time.
{{-}}
[[Image:Networkprime.png|thumb|left]]
===Network Prime===
Network Prime's goals appear to simply be the eradication of all organic life in the complex, and the reclamation of what it considers to be its rightful territory (ie. the entire complex). Anything further than that is unknown at this point due to its incredibly distorted communication and outright insanity. It manufactures sapient robots to do its bidding, which are just as prone to thoughts of rebellion as their fleshy Central Network counterparts.
{{-}}
[[Image:Monitors.png|thumb|left]]
===Monitors===
Composed of strange creatures with fluidly mutable bodies and terrifyingly powerful mental abilities, the motives of the monitors are a mystery. However, whatever they are trying to do, they appear to prefer subterfuge and the conversion of others to act as their proxies in whatever battles they are fighting, and appear to have an ability not only to infiltrate minds but also bodies.
{{-}}
===Revolution===
A faction once fallen for whatever reason, the revolution against the two Network AIs is slowly beginning again, under the joint leadership of Kata22ti and Tene157ot. Whether it will progress and end in victory or merely die before even getting off the ground remains to be seen, however.
{{-}}

==The Complex==
[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Sector 1===
'''Held by:''' Central Network

It was once the closest thing to a reception the complex had, with facilities for visitors and controls in place to ensure everything entering and leaving the complex was heavily monitored. Under Central Network's watchful eyes, nothing either enters or leaves the complex alive through Sector 1 unless Central Network has authorised it.
{{-}}

[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Sector 2===
'''Held by:''' None

It is the hub of the complex, spacious but sparse in features. The only value this sector holds to the factions is that all sectors are linked to it, and while all sectors have access to more than one other sector, control of this sector would force enemies to travel through narrower, easily defended paths. It is the epicentre of the conflict, based on this tactical value.
{{-}}

[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Sector 3===
'''Held by:''' Network Prime

Whatever function it once had before is irrelevant. It currently serves half as a laboratory and half as a factory for its robotic servants. It is Network Prime's most closely guarded sector, and houses its central nodes.
{{-}}

[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Sector 4===
'''Held by:''' Network Prime

It houses atmospheric control for the complex, as well as energy production. It is also a warehouse for raw materials. It is not clear how new materials are acquired. While it would apparently be simple for Network Prime to render the complex uninhabitable, it is in fact impossible for it to override these automated systems at the current time.
{{-}}

[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Sector 5===
'''Held by:''' Central Network

It is teeming with drones, and houses the decanting facilities, accommodation and infrastructure for drones not assigned to a mission, hydroponics, and Central Network's central nodes. There are invariably groups of drones in this sector who rebel, but they are dealt with swiftly and efficiently, their cybernetics cleaned and repaired, and their bodies pulped into the hydroponics facilities.
{{-}}

[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Sector 6===
'''Held by:''' None

Its original purpose is unclear, as while it houses physical nodes that make up system space, it also contains multiple redundant and mismatched rooms, such as barracks, storages, system space access points and many others. It appears to be a remnant of a smaller structure that the complex may have begun from, or that has been integrated as the complex expanded.
{{-}}

[[Image:image|thumb|left]]
===Sector 7===
'''Held by:''' Monitors

Little is known of it, but it appears to be the sector the monitors have taken up residence in. It was likely once a surveillance, security and information storage sector, where complex administration and bureaucracy may have been carried out. However, attempts by Central Network and Network Prime to investigate further usually end fruitlessly, as even if their teams return, the monitors have ensured they are unable to report or recall anything they have witnessed.
{{-}}

==Drone Technologies==

===Helmet===
{{questart|234834|board=questarch|caption=Not an intended use}}
Combat drones are all given helmets as standard equipment. They connect to ports installed on the top of the head and allow for several functions. They are used for communicating with both each other at long distances and with Central Network. They also have additional hardwired parts in their head for communication with their subsystem even without the helmet. Additionally, they have a port on the back that allows a direct two way sensory feed, allowing them to interact with computer systems in full virtual reality, and also allowing them to feel things with their arms and legs and helmet. They also have camera systems to provide detailed information about their surroundings, though they can't see through the helmet without them. The helmets also have emergency kill triggers, which trigger the drone's kill switch, something that can be activated both by the drone if under extreme distress or by Central Network if a drone goes rogue. Because of the sensory connections, drones perceive the helmets and limbs as parts of themselves.

Salazzarines are a species created by [[Cirr]] that originally appeared in [[Infiltration]] and has subsequently appeared in several other quests such as [[Venji]] (half appearance), [[Fish]], [[Hugs Quest]], and most notably [[The Cage]], a sequel of sorts to Infiltration. They have also appeared as the guards in a game development project by Cirr, [http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-21/?action=preview&uid=1620 Aphelion Incident]. Between Infiltration and subsequent quests, they underwent a redesign, mostly led by [[Typo]], and Cirr now considers him something of a co-creator.

=Anatomy=
==General==
{{questart|216778|board=questarch|caption=The original salazzarine design}}
{{questart|2810|board=draw|caption=Typo's redesign}}
{{questart|289452|board=quest|caption=A modern salazzarine}}
Salazzarine have four legs portruding outwards from their abdomen. They consist of two short segments and a long segment that ends in a point. They have two pairs of limbs on their thorax that follow the same structure, though the second pair is all but vestigial. Their heads end in a serrated mouth, with no distinct teeth. At the back of their heads is any number of varying protrusions, which vary by individual in size, shape, and number (This is the easiest way to tell individuals apart). Salazzarine are able to rather easily regenerate lost tissue to the point where given time they can regrow entire limbs. Also notably, salazzarine are extremely flexible, especially in the spine, and can bend it up to 90 degrees backward and at least 180 degrees forward.

==Skin==
{{questart|285163|board=quest|caption=Salazzarine blades}}
Despite having a distinctly arthropod-like appearance, salazzarine do not have exoskeletons, instead relying on a rather standard endoskeleton. Their bodies are covered with small, almost invisible fibers that give their skin a peachlike texture. These fibers weave together in certain areas to make the skin extremely rigid or sharp. This allows them to walk on the points of their feet comfortably. The most notable use of these fibers is in the arms, or blades. Unlike most of the fibers, salazzarine have direct conscious control over the fibers in their forearms and can make the inner edge of them sharp at will, as a natural weapon. These fibers may be able to function as setae, allowing the salazzarine to grip objects in a manner that doesn't involve awkwardly clutching objects between their arms. It has also been considered that this would make clothes very uncomfortable, accounting for their "naked alien syndrome".

==Reproductive (because this is important on tgchan)==
{{questart|6415|board=draw|caption=Salazzarine female genitals}}
{{questart|228105|board=questarch|caption=A salazzarine (left) giving birth with her mate present}}
Salazzarine have a fractal genital structure, which results in a womb similar to a lung structure. The male copulative organ is internal when unaroused but expands to a treelike structure during intercourse to impregnate all of the eggs released. Salazzarine reproduce front to front, locking all of their limbs around each other in a hug. Salazzarine give live birth to a large amount of tiny larvae in a specially prepared pool. The parents feel no parental instincts towards them, however, until later, because until then all but a few, usually just one, of the larvae are killed and eaten by each other (Note: during the era of the Reeklid empire, this process was subverted to allow almost all larvae to survive, leading to a population explosion to be used as soldiers). Larvae must remain within water until after the first pupation, and after that are considered adolescent children. At the end of their childhood they pupate a second time to become adults. This process is sometimes traumatizing, because they spend several months unable to move and fully conscious, and occasionally die during it.

==Mutation==
{{questart|285162|board=quest|caption=A common beneficial mutation}}
Likely as a side effect of the regenerative abilities, salazzarine have a very high mutation rate. As there is a huge selection pressure as larvae and during pupations, beneficial mutations occur relatively frequently. Depending on the culture of the time period, mutants can be anything from heralded to enlisted as special agents to imprisoned. The most common mutation observed has been the presence of fully formed midlimbs, seen in both the main character of Cage and his cellmate, as well as the main character of Fish. The protagonists of Infiltration were selected for their beneficial mutations, and thus have especially unique ones of a binary vascular structure and a higher-performing brain in Woryeh, and eyes that can see in extremely low light and a sense of the anatomy of others in Zyeryh.

=Culture=
(uh this is harder than biology i'm a scientist not a sociologist cirr or maybe typo should probably do it)
==Names==
Salazzarine names almost always consist of two or three distinct syllables. Among friends and family they are often affectionately abbreviated to the first syllable. The syllables are usually quite short, and tend to follow a certain tonal pattern rich with sharp intonations. Cirr named all of the salazzarines in Aphelion Incident, and thus the [http://cirr.info/ld21/src/com/cirrial/ld21/GuardData.as guard data] is a good place to get an understanding of naming conventions. Notably, the guard data contains one individual named Zuhnuffuh whose name deviates significantly from the naming conventions in that it is soft and dampened sounding from the repeated 'uh' sounds. He is shown to be embarrassed about his name because of this, and was likely made fun of because of it. Commonly used syllables include -yh endings like eyh, kyh, and zyh, -ye endings like rye, zye, and kye, -ee endings like kee, ree, and zee, and z- beginnings like ze, zee, and zeh. A full syllable table is under construction, but the small number of referencable names means that it is currently incomplete.
Despite the expectations one might have based on the author, he has stated that he plans to take this quest rather seriously. This has shown in that, although the quest has had sexual encounters, they have all been of the "fade to black" variety, instead of describing them in detail as many people expected of him.
She alone is taken alive by the kulukuzu, who in this setting are much more militant, and they experiment on her alive to try to contact the false gods she can see. As the last of her race, she is left alone, naked, and helpless in a cell as the gekeh, who don't share the kulukuzu's opinions on her utility, come to resolve her and destroy the last creation of the Eldest.
