An imp pulls himself out bed and stands in the middle of his room. He can hear the fading thumping of rain drops on his window. Having just woken up in the middle of the night he had sat under his covers trying to return to sleep to no avail. It is 1:15 AM and there’s no chance he’ll be going back to bed now. Through the grog clouding his mind he struggles to think of what to do next, or to even remember what his name is.

What is this imp’s name?

But we could see if CC has an up-armored mail drone on their end that they could send to us. It would take twice as long but it could work. All this robo war stuff seems really fishy to me and I am beginning to think I am smelling a [RED HERRING].

There are some broken lockers out there. So perhaps “those that conceal nothing” are the broken lockers, since they can’t conceal anything?

The only thing left to figure out is what order to put the numbers into the lock.

As a tsundere you conceal your feelings. Those that don't have feelings are machines. Therefore, check inside the drones around here. It could be in the maintenance computer as well.

But first, you should shine a light through those openings in the safe first. Maybe there's a better drone in here. If there isn't, I would suggest sending off a normal drone first, before wasting time on puzzles.

B-1 and A-02 both have broken locks, and A-03's door is just plain missing. So maybe set all of them to A-0, then change each of them to B-1 and back? If that doesn't work, try every arrangement of A-2, A-3, and B-1.

... There's a decent chance that there's this whole epic story involving the maintenance bots to which you're just a bystander.

You lack a light to shine. Also, a general rule of the universe is if there is a puzzle then solving it will only improve your situation. I mean, who just puts down a puzzle without meaning for it to be solved? Truly there is no such thing as "wasting time on puzzles". Unless it's like a Rubik's cube, those things suck.

That eventually does the trick. Inside the safe you find two heavy duty mail delivery drones! You card both of them and decide now is a good time to message G&M that her battery is on the way.

Deuces Daggers (D&D) messaged Grave Mycologist (G&M) at 3:11

D&D: G&M, two things
D&D: first your battery should be on its way soon. just got my hands on a couple of mail drones and i'll be sending it your way shortly

G&M: That’s GREAT 0D!
D&D: and second, youre on my team
G&M: Of course I'm on yourr team Cyle you're my friend! I'm on everyone's team all the time!
D&D: yeah but i mean in the game. there are teams and youre on mine
G&M: Oh! Okay! So you and me are againsst C&A and C&C?
D&D: yeah but not really i don't think
D&D: we don't know how the game really works yet or what being on different teams really mean so for now its arbitrary
D&D: were only on teams because the games says we gotta be

G&M: That's good to hear, this would've been a ltot less fun if we had to be supr commpetitive and junk
D&D: yeah that'd suck all of the remaining fun out of this whole deal
D&D: i didnt tell you about the fetus that dropped in my house yet did i?

G&M: WHAT?
D&D: yeah the game dropped a squirming embryo in my house
D&D: C&C thinks it might be important to the game[/color]
G&M: That's a good assumprtion tho, why would an embryo be dropped in your hose other wwise?
D&D: aside from the game makers just wanting to fuck with players who knows? anyway, let me send this drone out
D&D: wait
D&D: okay fuck somethings wrong

G&M: Oh no!
D&D: the signal won't connect on the first floor for some reason
D&D: i think the storms starting to roll in

G&M: Theres a storm?
D&D: yeah but don't worry it's harmless, just means i'll be staying in for today til it passes
D&D: the bigger issue is im going to have to head to the roof to send off these drones

G&M: I can wait a bit longer! But PLEASE try not to get struck by lightning when you're up there!
D&D: no promises, if it looks fun i'll give it a try

Chemical Chalice (C&C) messaged Deuces Daggers (D&D) at 3:14

D&D: cool but im not at my computer so i don’t think I can see any changes
C&C: Oh right, you must be in your mailroom. On your way to sending me the embryo sample?
D&D: yeah but i gotta make it to my roof for a better connection
D&D: a storms rolling in and its fucking up the mail drone signals

C&C: If it's too much trouble you don't have to.
D&D: no i have to send G&M her battery anyway so either way i have to go up there
D&D: dont sweat it im used to you being a giant burden

C&C: Fuck you.
D&D: >0o
C&C: Was that too genuine?
D&D: jusst a bit unexpected is all
D&D: is your screen different now that the blueprints donee loading?

C&C: Yes! It looks like it's showing me the VALUE set by the options I picked for the blueprints, and some bars that are all empty. Your laptop probably has stuff more relevant to you.

>>966181
>What do you know about fighting exactly?
Though you thrive when your presence isn't known you can still hold your own with a knife in combat. That being said this guy seems to outweigh you in fighting expertise. His CONTEMPT LVL of 10 is twice as high as yours. While CONTEMPT isn't the be all end all of a fight, it definitely shows you who's more likely to win.

You can definitely try, Either CONTEST the robot, CONCEDE and attempt escape, Or CONSIDER something in between.
>>
No. 966205 ID: ce39da

CONCEDE; its reflexes seem superior, but his ground-speed didn't seem too impressive from what we've seen. If we favor stealth battles, then stealth battles are the only battles we should commit to, not this square-off with a robot with a superior weapon.

But you should attempt to distract it by pointing behind it and yelling, “What the fuck is that?!”
>>

Consider feinting an escape by running behind a corner in the corridor. If the robot dashes after you, it will have to lower its guard, which means you'd be able to safely strike it once it reaches the said corner.

Oh what the fresh hell is this? Is that a web? It's blocking the whole hallway! This must be the game's doing, you're so unprepared for this it's annoying.

Take that thing out of the web and examine it. Also see if you can tell what the black stuff is.

It's one of the maintenance drones, something broke it...

You channel a bit of C&C's chemistry mumbo jumbo, What would she say in this situation? "Unctuous texture, highly viscous, with a very strong sour smell. Yes, I will require more study in my lab".

You guess it's some sort of tar.

How do you know the game did this? You’ve had no reason to be on the 4th floor (we were on the 1st floor with the mail room and got tossed upwards 3 floors making this the 4th floor), so this could’ve been here for a while and this is your first time noticing it.

>What do?
You’ll probably need to find a different route to get to the elevator. Either that or take the stairs.

Also this.

Yeah you probably shouldn't step in that. Try to go around. Or take the stairs.

Well get a sample of it to send along with the fetus juice.

Tell the other maintenance drones. Hopefully they will come over and try to fix the maintenance drone. Either they pull it out and take a chunk of the web with them, or the all get stuck and whatever it is eats them all and suffers a food coma.

Cut down the web and continue.

No dice, this stuff is tough as all hell.

>How do you know the game did this? You’ve had no reason to be on the 4th floor
Maybe not today, but you've been outside of your apartment, to other floors and outside the building at other times too without any evidence of things like this. The game is the best explanation and anything else would be MORE worrying since you'd have no explanation.

>Uh, look up? I think I see something dripping.
Yeah, more web gunk.

It's an uninteresting trek up to the roof, longer than you'd like seeing as webs block the shortest paths but you get there just fine.

From the roof you get a good view of the city, and the dark clouds rolling in overhead, flashes of lightning break through the clouds and roars of thunder follow. This drone better work...

You watch as the mechanical couriers send of the packages to your friends, as they fly off you can feel the slightest drizzle fall from the sky.

It's a perfect time to stay inside and play a game.
